Episode 238: Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Thieves | Movie Review
Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves
Welcome to the party. This week on Cinemaholics, we review Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves, a new film adaptation of the classic tabletop game. Directed by Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley (Game Night), Dungeons & Dragons blends medieval fantasy action with high-concept comedy, and with a game cast, no less. Chris Pine, Michelle Rodriguez, Regé-Jean Page, Justice Smith, Sophia Lillis, and Hugh Grant are all here rolling the dice on this being the next big blockbuster franchise. But we're a bit divided on this one being a quest worth taking. It's a Cinemaholics battle for the ages.

Episode 95 - Uncle Frank (2020)
Hey Friends,

Set in the mid 70's Frank (Paul Bettany is joined by is niece, Beth (Sophia Lillis) and partner, Wally (Peter Macdissi), on his return home for his father's funeral. This is definitely the saddest movie we've watched for the show, so sad-content warning.

Happiest Season, Lovers Rock, The Twentieth Century, Uncle Frank, Zappa
Not all of us are in love with Clea DuVall’s latest film, Happiest Season, which is a Christmas romantic comedy on Hulu starring Kristen Stewart, Mackenzie Davis, Aubrey Plaza, and many more. Will and Abby take some time to review the latest “Small Axe” film from Steve McQueen on Amazon Prime Video: Lovers Rock. The whole gang joins the fun of The Twentieth Century, Matthew Rankin’s absurdist festival indie that might’ve stolen all our hearts. We also cover our mixed feelings on Alan Ball’s latest film since 2007, Uncle Frank, which boasts strong performances from Paul Bettany, Peter Macdissi, and Sophia Lillis. And last, Jon discusses Zappa, Alex Winter’s eclectic new documentary about the life of the infamous guitarist Frank Zappa.

Episode 22 - IT Discussion
Round two in the classic game of SCOTT IS SCARED OF MOVIES, this time with 'IT' (2017). Oliver hasn't seen the trailers, and knows absolutely nothing about IT, not the actors, not the characters, not even the premise (outside of knowing ITs about an evil clown). So did Scott, having seen the promotional material and alerting him to when jump scares and tense moments might occur, still wind up a wimpering mess of man?
Scott also feels the need to complain once more about minor shitty pet peeves he finds in movies, and Oliver is poetically brilliant as usual by bringing some amazing haikus to the table in 'Critically Acclaimed or Critically Lame!'
