    Feeling like you’re the president of the Business Failure Club? Stacey’s been there, done that, and got the T-shirt.

    After two failed businesses, she realized the problem. She had no system in place to bring prospects onto her business, into her pipeline. She needed a mechanism to grow her business.

    She started a productivity and business coaching practice, but still could not get any referrals. She had to come up with a different way to get referrals, but methods she researched just didn’t fit her personality; they were either gimmicky; involved asking, or paying a commission.

    It was the “sticky client experience”, developing the relationship, and doing things that made her referable, that finally enabled her to break through, and see referrals flow in.

    She learned the importance of connecting with prospects. Her actions became relationship-based, rather than work-based; planting trust and getting clients to a place where they felt comfortable referring her. People had to first like and trust her before they’d refer her.

    Nurturing relationships, communication, and respect are key to developing and growing your referral base. It does no good to simply meet expectations; that’s a given. People expect you to vastly exceed expectations.
