Boomer & Gio Podcast (WHOLE SHOW)

Boomer & Gio Podcast (WHOLE SHOW)

    Hour 1

Jerry is in for Boomer today so it’s Gio & Jerry. We start with the news of Kodai Senga’s injury and how baseball players are always injured and how frustrating it is for fans. Gio said the Mets have given no reason for the fans to care this year. Jerry disagrees and says there’s intrigue for him. Gio thinks the Mets will win 75-80 games but there are no expectations. The MLB uniforms continue to be a discussion point as you can see their privates through their see through pants. C-Lo is here for his first update but first we talked about his Aruba hoodie that screams tourism. We heard from Senga through his interpreter. The Knicks beat the Sixers 110-96 in Philly. In the final segment of the hour, Gio was enjoying the lyrics to Luke Combs’ ‘Where The Wild Things Are’. Gio was disappointed to read that it was not about Combs’ brother, just some random guy.

    Hour 2

We come out of break with ‘Out Where The Wild Things Are’ by Luke Combs, the song that Gio thinks he got duped listening to. We turned our attention to the Knicks and Julius Randle and surgery still being on the table. They beat the Sixers in Philadelphia and Spike Eskin was there ringing the Sixers Liberty Bell. C-Lo returns for an update but first Gio said this has been a slow week, probably because the kids are home. Spike was at the Sixers game ringing the Liberty Bell and then the Knicks beat them. Hal Steinbrenner talked about still looking to improve the team but nothing is imminent. Gio said, on paper, this is the worst Mets rotation. A caller said Evan Roberts claims to have never BBQ’d.

    Hour 3

A couple at the Mavericks game called Kevin Durant a ‘bitch’ when he came out of the locker room for shootaround. He approached them and was nice enough to tell security not to throw them out. The loser guy said, ‘I have a podcast’. C-Lo returns for an update, but first Fat Perez called in while traveling in Virginia. In the final segment of the hour, C-Lo gets to actually do his update and starts with the Knicks win in Philly last night. Kodai Senga is going to miss the start of the season, and Jerry wonders why the Mets wouldn’t sign a guy like Jordan Montgomery. Tiger Woods’ son did not do great at his qualifying event, but he was being followed and he really needed more security at the event for him.

    Hour 4

We talked about the Mets season and the first series which is at home against the Brewers, in what Gio is calling a ‘David Stearns revenge spot’. Gio wonders if fans will want to go to that Brewers series if it’s cold, as it surely will be. A caller compares Steve Cohen to a ‘two pump chump’. A caller said Evan Roberts has made it by having his in-laws live with him. He has a chef and a constant hall pass to go to games. C-Lo is here for his final update of the day and starts with talk of Blake Snell and the Yankees. The Moment of The Day involves the terrible new MLB uniforms where you can see the players’ junk. In the final segment of the week, Peter Schwartz has a ‘long snapping son’ and is going to do his college commitment live on our show next week.

Boomer & Gio Podcast (WHOLE SHOW)

Boomer & Gio Podcast (WHOLE SHOW)

    Hour 1

Kevin Clancy, KFC from Barstool Sports, is in for Boomer today. He’s a huge Mets fan so Gio starts with the Mets offseason or lack thereof. We talked about Pete Alonso’s future with the Mets. We also talked about Frank The Tank’s Mets negativity. Mets fans were negative for so long in the Wilpon era and we all thought things would turn around in the Steve Cohen era. C-Lo is in for Jerry today and is here for his first update, but first we talked about how bad the new Fanatics/Nike uniforms are. The pants are see through, so you can see the tucked in jersey in the pants. C-Lo starts with Kodai Senga already experiencing arm fatigue in February. Evan Roberts was angry with the Mets and cannot say the word, ‘compartmentalize’. Rick Pitino finally apologized for calling out his players over the weekend.

    Hour 2

Rob Saleh seems to have no control over his players on social media. Sauce Gardner is now calling himself, ‘LaSauce’, and is playing GM. He is posting who he would be signing to the Jets if he were the GM. Kevin Clancy tells us he’s not a big uniform guy and doesn’t remember player numbers even the ones he’s watched forever. We also talked about Gio's love of 1,000 lb Sisters. They also both love Love Is Blind. C-Lo returns for an update but first we talked about needing a colostomy bag. Gio thinks Kevin Ollie looks like an evil magician because of the mustache and thin face. Rick Pitino finally apologized for attacking his players and saying they can’t move. Justin Fields explained why he unfollowed the Bears on Instagram. In the final segment of the hour, we talked about Shane Gillis hosting SNL even though they fired him before he started working there.

    Hour 3

Craig Carton reported that the thing going on with the Eagles locker room would fracture any relationship. Adam Schefter was on the radio in Philadelphia and pretty much said this is tabloid journalism. Kevin Clancy just remembered he forgot to tell his Mom he was hosting with Gio today. He also didn’t tell her to turn the Mets game on when Johan Santana was throwing a no hitter. They also talked about what it’s like when you first have children and how it changes your life. There should be some sort of test to be able to have children. A caller said he was playing craps in a casino in Florida and Eli Manning was right next to him at the next table. We also talked about Dana White betting an insane amount of money at the tables. C-Lo returns for an update and starts with Knicks injuries as we come out of the All Star break. Charles Barkley said of Kevin Durant, ‘Kevin’s a follower, he’s not a leader’. KD responded saying these guys on tv need to fill segments with negativity. Rick Pitino finally apologized for his comments over the weekend where he went after his players. We talked about Eddie going to sleep at 5pm during the week. Nick Saban is out of coaching but he doesn’t want to stay home and just watch Netflix. In the final segment of the hour, we talked about Dave Portnoy and his newly adopted dog, ‘Miss Peaches’. We cringed at his ‘Miss Peaches’ voices that he uses to talk to her.

    Hour 4

Scottie Pippen, Luc Longley, and Horace Grant are going on tour to dispute some of the things presented in The Last Dance documentary. They are calling it ‘The No Bull’ Tour. We talked about friction when you’re on a team like the Bulls experienced. It happened at Barstool and it has happened at WFAN over the years. Gio wonders who best stood up to Dave Portnoy over the years. Gio wonders if Portnoy likes to be challenged. C-Lo returns for his final update of the day and starts with the arm fatigue of Kodai Senga. And yes, arm fatigue in February. The Moment of The Day includes an older caller who wanted to be quizzed on Brooklyn Dodgers uniform numbers. In the final segment of the show, we get breaking news that David Stearns is going to address the media to talk about the Kodai Senga arm fatigue. That sounds like it’s terrible news.

Boomer & Gio Podcast (WHOLE SHOW)

Boomer & Gio Podcast (WHOLE SHOW)

    Hour 1

We are finally back in NYC after our Super Bowl trip to Vegas. Steve Cohen declared it baseball season, but Gio said the Mets haven’t done anything to make it feel like baseball season. With the Knicks doing well and the local hockey teams playing well, it is not baseball season at all around here. The Super Bowl ratings came out and CBS had over 123 million viewers. Jerry is here for his first update of the day but first we talked about the NHL Stadium Series jerseys they sent us. Jerry starts with the controversial ending in the Knicks loss last night. Jalen Brunson was called on a foul that wasn’t a foul. Boomer wonders why people keep asking David Stearns about the Pete Alonso contract. Evan Roberts’ beard looks really awful now. He looks like the Geico caveman. In the final segment of the hour, people were mad at the Jets for releasing their new, old, uniforms right after the Super Bowl ended. No matter what the Jets do, people criticize them. Boomer thinks the Broncos may be getting new uniforms. Throwback jerseys almost always look better than the current jerseys the teams are wearing. The NBA has so many alternate jerseys it hard to know who’s playing without a score bug.

    Hour 2

Gio and Eddie had a corn dog before the Super Bowl. They also watched people eating chili out of a Fritos bag. Gio said that being at the game, you don’t realize all the things people are mad at while watching the game on TV. People didn’t like Usher getting too close to Alicia Keys. People also didn’t like Ice Spice wearing an upside down cross and then making horn gestures with her hands. People thought she was sending satanic messages. Taylor Swift was only on camera for 54 seconds of a 4 hour and 8 minute Super Bowl. Gio doesn’t think Taylor Swift will go to the Chiefs parade. Gio said people were also upset that Tony Romo was talking too much on the final TD play. Jerry is here for another update but first Boomer thinks it’s interesting that the Chiefs have won 2 Super Bowls after losing Tyreek Hill. Jerry has the final TD as called by Jim Nantz and Tony Romo. People were mad that Romo talked too much instead of letting it breathe. Shannon Sharpe and Ochocinco were not happy with comedian Mike Epps insinuating that Sharpe is gay. Sharpe said he is going to roll up on him. The Knicks got screwed last night with a bad foul call on Jalen Brunson. Boomer has had enough of people asking David Stearns about Pete Alonso. In the final segment of the hour, the Alicia Keys performance was edited for the official YouTube video of it. Her voice cracked at the very beginning but it has been taken out. A caller asked if it’s sunk in yet that this is now the slowest time in sports.

    Hour 3

The Super Bowl favorites for next year are out and it’s the Niners and Chiefs, of course. The Jets are +3,000 and are tied for tenth. The Giants are tied at second to last at +15,000. Boomer said the Giants are in a really weird spot because of the initial year of success. The Giants are still the third best team in the NFC East. Mitch Trubisky was let go by the Steelers. Boomer said the Jets have to prepare for Aaron Rodgers to get hurt at some point, coming off an achilles injury and playing a 17 game season at 40. Jerry returns for an update and starts with the Knicks getting screwed last night on a bad foul call on Jalen Brunson. Totally fugazi. David Stearns said ‘success can be defined in a lot of different ways’. Um, ok. In the final segment of the hour, Gio watched Jerry make eggs in the microwave and wished he was rolling video. A hot egg yolk exploded when Jerry punctured it. We wondered why they don’t have hard rolls in other parts of the country.

    Hour 4

Gio is wearing a pair of Timberlands that are over 20 years old. Gio is limping today trying to keep up with Al and Gina running from the Super Bowl to catch a car back to the hotel. A caller wonders why Giants fans would want a 74 year old Bill Belichick if things don’t work out with Brian Daboll. Boomer wonders if Mac Jones could be a backup on the Jets. Jerry returns for an update and starts with the Knicks getting screwed on a foul call on Jalen Brunson that clearly wasn’t a foul. Andy Reid talked about the difficulty of going for a three-peat. David Stearns met the media again to talk about the Mets upcoming season. The Moment of the Day involves Gio and Eddie trying to keep up with Al as he ran out of the stadium Sunday. In the final segment of the show, Alyssa Milano was at the Super Bowl a few weeks asking people to donate to her son’s little league trip.
