    Vi har lavet mange filmnørdede ting her på Filmnørdens Hjørne, men få er nok så nørdede som den monster-podcast du hermed sidder overfor. Denne her kommer virkelig til at trække tænder ud og teste din nørd-udholdenhed. Og det kommer altså fra et par fyre, der har brugt næsten tre timer på kun at snakke om Dødens Gab...

    Så hvad er det dog ved netop 77'eren, der gør den så hardcore? Det er naturligvis manden i centrum, Steven Soderbergh. Han har været i medievælten på det sidste, takket være især to film (Side Effects og Behind the Candelabra), men mest af alt for at udtale, at han aldrig vil lave film mere. Dette synes vi er god grund til at stoppe op og dedikere en hel podcast til ham.

    I modsætning til mange andre filmfolk og -skabere som vi har haft fingre i, er Steven Soderbergh slet ikke let at sætte i bås eller blive klog på. Vi er ret fascinerede af det bebrillede æggehoved, vis film breder sig over et uoverskueligt genremæssigt spektrum. Dette gør naturligvis, at vi har svært ved at holde igen og vores snak har svært ved at finde en afslutning. Undskyld på forhånd.


    Et symptom på hvor skæv en skabning hr. Soderbergh er, dukkede op da vi skulle mixe den lille Soderbergh-intro sammen, som du kan høre i begyndelsen af podcasten. Vanligvis ville vi have samlet en god håndfuld af de mest mindeværdige citater fra mandens film, have sat dem sammen på en cool måde og smidt et klassisk stykke Soderbergh-musik under.

    Problemet er i første omgang, at der ikke findes et "klassisk" stykke Soderbergh-musik, men hvad værre er, så laver han ikke film man kan citere. We dare you! Tænk på et klassisk citat fra en Soderbergh-film! Kom nu!... Hvis du overhovedet kan finde på noget, er du god.

    Et andet symptom på Soderberghs kompleksitet: Vi spurget alle jer dejlige lyttere, hvilke Soderbergh-film I synes var bedst og værst. Svarene vi fik, lå spredt som de farvede bidder af cereal i den dér scene fra Kill Bill, hvor Uma planter en kniv i knoppen af Vivica. Ingen er enige om hvad der er hans bedste og værste film og det kan du høre mere om i sidste del af podcasten.


    Men alt dette leder frem til en pointe: Steven Soderbergh er interessant og værd at forsøge at definere som filmskaber. Det er netop hvad vi prøver på i denne podcast. Igennem denne definition, håber vi at kunne hjælpe dig med at finde de Soderbergh-film der passer godt til jer, for lige meget hvad I tror, så er der en Soderbergh-film for alle. Det er bare sjældent den samme film.

    Lad os stoppe inden vi bliver alt for kryptiske og lade podcasten tale for sig selv, for den er 100 % Soderbergh. Hele fladen er ryddet, så anmeldelser og nyheder og al det jazz, må vente til 78'eren.

    Vi håber virkelig at I kan få noget ud af denne podcast. Umiddelbart er det den sværest tilgængelige af alle vores produktioner, men hvis du er en af de heldige der når i mål, så har vi forhåbentlig smittet dig med bare lidt af den fascination vi har af Steven Soderbergh.
