    Change Roadblocks-The Deal Breakers
You are planning to stick with your new practice. You've made a deal with yourself. And then you break the agreement. Confused? Frustrated? You're not alone. We often look outside of ourselves for the answers. If we create the perfect structure, schedule, discipline, and environment, we will finally shape the right circumstances for our new practice to be sustainable and integrate naturally into our lives so we don't have to try so dang hard! But what if the answer is on the inside? And what if we could understand our internal roadblocks, see them on the horizon, and breeze right through them? Let's find out!

GROWING A FRANCHISE, MEETING TERMINATOR, THE SECRETS BEHIND THE BRAND! ⎮ Meeting Gold - Dave Dekker

GROWING A FRANCHISE, MEETING TERMINATOR, THE SECRETS BEHIND THE BRAND! ⎮ Meeting Gold - Dave Dekker

Meeting Gold Presents this week's guest DAVE DEKKER! Dave is the owner and founder of Herc's Nutrition, With over 20 stores across Canada. He's started with only $5,000 to invest and a dream to inspire others to be their best version. Growing up having a home gym, his father, the owner of a powerlifting club, and his grandpa Dekker a wrestler. Dave was encouraged to live a healthy and fit lifestyle. But Dave wanted so much more, he wanted what no one else was offering. He wanted relationship growth.

Dave speaks on how much the health industry has significantly changed over the years, from being meatheads to women who weren't allowed to work out to now, fitness being so open and accepting for everyone and anyone. "Being confident, positive, healthy, and happy is what people want to be" Dave says. He shares his story on how he can relate. Dave graduated from Western and has worked a lot following school. He became comfortable with money, and success but uncomfortable with his body and the way he was living. He says "there wasn't any soul in it.'

Dave started putting together an image of what he wanted his future to look like and opened his first Herc's store in 1996. Catering to locals, he started having more and more customers coming in from afar. Which immediately motivated Dave to open more locations. With a good background in fitness, it was easy for Dave to connect with his customers and be able to expand his already successful business. Dave tells us "there were good days and bad days, but there's nothing better than being around like-minded people to encourage you to be right where you should be and that's what Herc's is all about.' It's about nourishing and supporting a healthy and happy lifestyle to share that happiness with others around you.

For the next guest, he asks, "As your biggest perceived failure ever turned out to be your greatest success?"

    41- Rocking INTENTION

    41- Rocking INTENTION

INTENTION.  Overthinking? Anxious? Or simply can't find your intention? We are on it this week! Let's rock:

1: Let's Rock with Amy: I overthought intention this week. I got all crazy with what I should say and had to come back to something simple, and I share just that, along with something that I was worried about, mistakes, and what we can learn from SpongeBob. Three quick steps and we are aligned with intention... and my whole episode is a case in point! Let's get experimental with them, too, because why not? Don't forget that my new FREE meditation is out too! Access that and other free stuff HERE!

2: Go Aff Yourself (16:28) with Affirmation Maven Jill Faulkner of stickwithit.co: The pressure of intention setting; intention in yoga class and my issue with competitiveness; connecting internally and how that’s Jill’s go-to; living intentions; where we put our energy; and this week’s Aff is: I Return to My Intention That Authentically Guides Me. We also discuss how we are using these affs each week. And check out Jill’s Bookshelf HERE.

3: BYOBBB (35:16) Build Your Own Brand, Biz + Brain with Bijou Finney: SO MUCH good packed in this short chat, including: what’s behind your intention— why did you choose that one; actionable intentions and intention as a road map  her intention of organization; we find a common thread between our intentions and the end result; “Moving with intention— especially when you’re using your energy and your resources and your money— there needs to be a very crystallized intention behind your thoughts and your movements and the things that you spend your time on”; the intention of making money and the work of going deeper behind that; staying focused and not getting lazy; avoiding the pressure of intention with check-ins; I suggest an experimental tactic around intention; viewing it all as a gift to yourself; and setting new intentions if you’ve grown out of your old ones. Don't forget, too, you can still access our free pdf that can help you with your core brand values!

31- Rock Your DECISIONS with Amber Soberon of Olé Santé Holistic Arts and Wellness Enhancement

31- Rock Your DECISIONS with Amber Soberon of Olé Santé Holistic Arts and Wellness Enhancement

DECISIONS, DECISIONS! Are you ready to rock your decisions and make them more powerful? Me too! The podcast is in four segments, and here’s this week’s breakdown:

1: Rock Your Life with Amy: I made a BIG decision this week. Listen for what that is and what I learned! i also touch on the power of intention in decision-making, my decision to embrace more power and responsibility with relation to my age, and the one simple thing we need to quit doing to enable ourselves into becoming more decisive and trusting ourselves more. Lots packed into my RYL this week! Listen for more, and also, the free PDF and my 5-step habit building guide are both still available for download, too, and sign up there for the newsletter I commit to deciding on, too!

2: The Interview (15:11): Interview this week is with Amber Soberon of Olé Santé Holistic Arts and Wellness Enhancement Amber is a reiki master and energy worker, and she feels called to share about the powerful mantra of NO. We talk about how the small ways we compromise our moments and ourselves can add up and take a toll on our own energy. She challenges herself to say no when she needs to, to let go of the “need” for instant replies, social media posting, and more, and then she has some great concrete steps to help us work on these: She suggests getting out in nature, not looking at your phone in the morning (guilty!), overcoming anxiety conditioning, and teaches us simple breath work techniques for both pick me up and relaxation, including the 4-4-8 breathing. “It’s our need to be liked [or] to make sure someone else is happy. But the instant you turn that perspective to attending to that other person and setting yourself aside is the minute you’ve already taken yourself out of self-care. And even though it’s the tiniest little things, they add up over time." She leads into speaking our truth and challenging ourselves to “check in with yourself before you react to any question or situation. Just give yourself a minute and notice how your body feels before you respond. Typically in that instant you know the response you want to give and then it’s followed by a lot of thoughts adjusting your true desire to appeal to the other person or the situation.”

3: Go Aff Yourself (34:55) with Affirmation Maven Jill Faulkner of stickwithit.co: Jill took social media off her phone and we discuss that decision and the 'why' behind it. I ask her if she is a decisive person, and we talk about her big decision to press pause on her business and whether it was really her decision or not. We cover ways we cope with indecisive moments, and tools like meditation to help us through those times. We also cover external qualifiers for decisions and how those can be a dangerous thing. And this week's Aff: I Easily Make Decisions.

4: BYOBBB (48:12) Build Your Own Brand, Biz + Brain with Bijou Finney: Bijou is on hiatus this week, but I touch on a few brand decisions I made and where that has led me in the last week. Head to her Insta to see her new farm, and she'll be back next week. Meanwhile, access our free pdf that can help you with your brand values and the action you take.

20- Rock Your PASSION with Wes Hurt, Founder of Clean Cause

20- Rock Your PASSION with Wes Hurt, Founder of Clean Cause

This week we get down with some PASSION. And during a pandemic, no less! While that is definitely challenging, we still all find ways to look into what it means and how to find it. The podcast is in four segments, and here’s this week’s breakdown:

Segment 1: Rock Your Life with Amy: Amy asks a lot of questions this week. She also gets into not feeling passion at the moment, what this week's affirmation brought to her life, and how allowing herself to feel pushed her to get deeper to find what she is truly passionate about, and how you can too. When we are triggered, what is that showing us?

Segment 2: The Interview: This week's it's with Wes Hurt, the founder of CLEAN Cause organic sparkling yerba mate drinks which provide 50% of all their profits to support recovery from alcohol and drug addiction through sober living scholarships which you can find out more about at clean cause .com. Wes is also a husband and father to two children and lives in Austin and is a recovering addict. Wes and I get really real really fast, which we both prefer. We talk about stripping away the layers to find what’s underneath the surface of exterior passions. Wes raises strong questions within this, too. He asks, “Would I be proud of what I do today if the pandemic eliminated next week? And how will I be seen by people, and the actions I made and the way I handled it, if it stopped? THAT is my new litmus test by the decisions I make.” We get into regrets, what makes our character, our places of purpose, powerlessness, and, yes- what truly matters and what we truly care about when we face death.

Segment 3: Go Aff Yourself with Jill Faulkner of stickwithit.co. This week Amy and Jill talk about the company she founded and her passion for that. We get into hobbies and side hustles, music, and whether or not we lose passion in the process of doing the work, sometimes? The Aff this week seems beautifully prescient for the times we are living in right now. Allowing ourselves to feel overwhelming and powerful emotions moves us both to explore this idea in all its contexts. And we end with Jill thinking about recharging and giving, and what she needs now, and it follows perfectly with what Wes talks about in The Interview. This week’s Aff is: I Let Myself Feel.

Segment 4: BYOBBB -Build Your Own Brand, Biz + Brain with Bijou Finney: We both feel depleted of passion and get real about our struggles with our brands and businesses. We dive into how this affects our brands and our businesses. We discuss the luxury of passion and the fight or flight response that can be attached. Bijou has been on an entrepreneur call and discusses the general climate of that, when products or services are not needed at this time. What do we do when passions feel extinguished? Our takeaway is to mix it up when we are feeling limited, and find time to fan your embers and take care of yourself.

19- Rock Your BRAIN with Dr. Art Markman, Psychology Professsor and Author

Time to rock that BRAIN this week, and we could probably all use it with waht's going on in the world right now.... the virus, the shelter in place orders.... How are we coping and how can we maximize this time for our minds? The podcast is in four segments, and here’s this week’s breakdown:

Segment 1: Rock Your Life with Amy: Amy explores what we can do with this time we've got on our hands, the habits we can build, the surrender that we are asked to make now, and how paying attention to our sleep can impact our brains. And Amy gets personal this week with a reframe realization of an issue she's had her entire life.

Segment 2: The Interview: Art Markman, Ph.D. of Psychology and Professor at UT, author of several books including Smart Thinking and most recently, Bring Your Brain to Work, and he has the podcast "Two Guys on Your Head." We cover motivations, emotions, habits, how not to make a decision about what we are “supposed to be feeling” right now, what we can do to leave work when we are working from home, and so much more. And what's most important right now? He says, "Take the time to rethink. Do I want to do things differently while I have the chance? [This time] is a really great chance to rethink the way that we interact with the people that are closest to us and to make that better." Learn more about Art HERE.

Segment 3: Go Aff Yourself with Jill Faulkner of stickwithit.co. This week Amy and Jill talk about the effect that affirmations have had on our brains over the years of doing them; subconscious negative patterns of thought that we may choose because they are familiar; and Jill has a big aha! moment. Segment 4: BYOBBB -Build Your Own Brand, Biz + Brain with Bijou Finney: Bijou and Amy both have had cases of zombie brain; they cover sales in the time of coronavirus and how to focus on the clients you already have; how our brains work with choice; and ultimately, this week's grand takeaway about reframing and how we can work to find the good in any situation.
