Jar Jar Binks will go down in history as the first CGI character in a motion picture. What you might not have ever thought about is the person behind Jar Jar. Our guest, Ahmed Best, provided all the movement, voice and acting that was used to create Jar Jar in the Star Wars movies. Without his contribution, CGI would not be what it is today. And yet, as a young artist, he had to endure surprising and fierce backlash for what was seen as racial stereotypes in Jar Jar’s portrayal. Ahmed talks about his incredible journey from performing in the touring company of the musical “Stomp” to landing this iconic role, the joys and challenges of being the first to do something, and how he has been able to find his artistic power and reclaim his confidence by making his own work. So many of us, fight the world alone. We are here to make the world less scary, overwhelming and stick a middle finger up to all the haters. We are here to Stomp Out Stigma

I do not view mental illness as shameful or discrediting. We here at AGP find this to be one of our amazing superpowers. You can too, if you don't already. 

This is why we are here and have been called in to action. I believe that when an individual is gifted with a crisis or situation that they survive, we are mandated to share with everyone what we have learned. If no one listens, just shout it louder.

The Planet Smashers are a Canadian ska punk band from Montreal. Since their formation in 1994, they have been a staple of the Montreal music scene. During the third wave of ska, they performed nationally and later internationally, with tours in the United States, Europe, and Japan. Founding member Matt Collyer helped establish Stomp Records in 1994, which featured many ska and ska punk bands

We had a great conversation about keeping the music fresh after 25 years as a band, their new album, "Too Much Information", his label Stomp Records and that one time (not at band camp) that Matt broke his neck and lived to write a song about it!
