Feeling triggered? Here's why that's a good thing.

Can feeling triggered be a good thing?

What if these moments of emotional hijacking aren't our adversaries, but rather, opportunities for lessons, growth and chances to heal?

Join me for this Thursday Thread where I unpack the ways in which triggers can potentially be harnessed as catalysts for empowerment. In the episode with Glenn Cohen on Tuesday, we dissected the nuances of neurological wounding and the seemingly invisible threads that connect our past experiences to our current habits and beliefs. In this episode, I pull out a thread specifically in regard to triggers.

In my own life, and in my work, I have seen how turning inward toward a moment of emotional discomfort can produce new pathways to learning and development. We have to feel to heal, after all!

This conversation doesn't stop at mere understanding — learning from our triggers is about taking actionable steps toward transformation.  Listen in as I share a moment from my own childhood that impacted my ability to use my voice, and how podcasting and breathwork have supported me in turning inward to unleash my gifts.

I hope this episode inspires you to embrace your triggers, using modalities like coaching, therapy, breathwork, meditation, or other therapeutic avenues to support you in working with your nervous system's patterns.

This episode isn't about coping; it's about thriving through the very triggers that once held us captive.

In Tuesday's episode, Mitzi lCampbell lit our path with her insights on creating space in our lives for growth, illuminating the power of self-reflection, and how it can magnify the impact of our every action.

One of the key points made in this conversation is that, whether you're diving into a good book, a coaching program, or simply absorbing a film, the real magic unfurls in the moments of contemplation that follow.

In this reflective contemplation, you can begin to recognize and utilize the gifts you possess RIGHT NOW to uplift yourself and those around you.

From battling the mind's traps to championing the importance of coaching for personal development, join your unicorn crew in this inspiring exploration of embracing your uniqueness and leveraging your current arsenal of skills to make a difference today.

How to start winning (by forgetting the finish line)

How to start winning (by forgetting the finish line)

Have you ever caught yourself measuring your self-worth by the trophies on your shelf, instead of the passion in your heart?

Join me in this Thursday Thread as I pull a thread of insight from my conversation with Alan Stein Jr. where I discuss the why falling madly in love with the process, rather than being fixated on the finish line, is the key to success. In a society that often confuses achievement with fulfillment, it's time we deconstruct that narrative and learn why the journey itself holds the key to our deepest joy and potential for success.

This episode is designed to reignite the flames of passion for what you do, reminding you that your present moment joy is your everyday strategy for longterm results.

Through the lens of a pivotal Stanford study, I explore how reward-based motivation might be dimming the light on passions that used to shine bright. And finally, we wrap up with a guided breath meditation that will help you tap into your present joy.

Leap of courage: 5 things I learned conquering my fear of bungee jumping

Leap of courage: 5 things I learned conquering my fear of bungee jumping

In this exhilarating episode, we delve deep into the thrilling world of overcoming fears and embracing the unknown. Join me as I share my journey of conquering one of the most adrenaline-pumping challenges (and something I said I'd absolutely NEVER do): bungee jumping.

I know that true growth lies on the other side of your comfort zone, and so I share some pivotal moments that led me to confront my anxieties and embrace the exhilarating plunge by sharing five big lessons I learned from doing this thing I said I'd never do.

Fear, often seen as a barrier that holds us back, can also be the catalyst for big realizations and even profound personal transformation. And, while I'm talking about bungee jumping, you don't have to jump off tall things to experience this!

I also share strategies and techniques for learning to mentally and physically regulate your nervous system during a wildly stressful moment, like right before bungee jumping, and how powerful visualization can be for prepping you for a big leap. (And also how NOT visualizing can impact your performance.)

As shared in the episode, here are the 5 LessonsI Learned from Doing Something I Said I’d Never Do:

    1. Never say never
      • The universe doesn’t understand "I won'ts."
    2.  Nervous system regulation works
      • Until you get to your edge, that is. Then, you know where your edge is and you can re-regulate from that moment and keep moving forward.
    3.  Surround yourself with people who love life.
      • It can help you see what you’re truly capable of doing
    4. You might like it more than you think you do.
      • Beware the moment you actually enjoy something you thought would be terrible! But really, be curious about the things you say you won’t do. There may be a nugget of desire there!
    5. Share your failures and laugh at them.
      • Laugher is healing!

Whether you're someone who is curious about taking a leap of faith or you're seeking inspiration to conquer your own fears, this episode may give you the courage ignite the fire within you to face your fears, embrace uncertainty, and take that exhilarating leap towards a life without limits.

Hey, unicorn. Stop comparing yourself to others!

Hey, unicorn. Stop comparing yourself to others!

You may have heard the phrase, "comparison is the thief of joy." Well, it's also the thief of your unique, sparkly magic.

In Tuesday's episode with Suzanna Helia, she shared the importance of not comparing yourself to others – and ESPECIALLY those within your same category.

This is applicable whether you're a CEO of a business, an entrepreneur, small business owner, a mom, a corporate manager, or any other role you happen to be engaging in right now.

When you constantly compare yourself, you will  find yourself focusing on the things you feel like you lack rather than appreciating the gifts you already have inside of you, your achievements, and the positive aspects of your current situation.

Comparison can lead to feelings of jealousy or envy, self-doubt, and a sense that you're not measuring up. This puts you straight into the snake pit, where you are poisoned by negativity and fear. In this place, you are robbed of your own joy and satisfaction that you could otherwise experience by embracing your own incredible unique gifts, talents, experiences, and essentially the magic of your own journey. You cannot access creativity here. It doesn't exist in the snake pit.

Joy is your strategy. When you find yourself in the comparison snake pit, turn back toward things that bring you fun and enthusiasm.

How to become unapologetically successful - with Suzanna Helia

How to become unapologetically successful - with Suzanna Helia

Have you ever heard of the fear of success?

This is a psychological phenomenon where people experience feelings of fear, apprehension, or discomfort in response to the possibility of achieving their goals, realizing their ambitions, or reaching a high level of success.

This fear might manifest in various ways and can have a significant impact on a person's behavior, choices, and overall well-being – and it's often rooted in negative beliefs. For example, the belief that successful or wealthy people are selfish, entitled, or inherently "bad."

Suzanna Helia started a podcast and brand completely about this topic, to encourage more women, businesses, and people all around the world to aspire to their greatest potential. In her eyes, if you succeed, you do not need to apologize or make yourself small for others who reach the same level.

Suzanna was born in Czechoslovakia, and as a teenager, made the decision to leave the country to go to somewhere where she felt more free. In this episode, she also tells a story of breaking out of school as a young child. She’s definitely a rebel, and unapologetically her successful self.

In this episode, we talk about:

    • The importance of OWNING the vision for your life, dreaming big, and choosing to believe it is possible.
    • Why we can’t give our energy to other people and expect them to see it a certain way.
    • How to stop comparing yourself with your peers, and why fitting into the mold of others keeps you from achieving your greatest success.
    • Why whatever you believe IS actually possible for yourself — and the truth behind the phrase "if you own it, you can create it."

    Meet Suzanna Helia

Suzanna Helia's mission revolves around guiding businesses on a journey to becoming beacons of inspiration for billions. Together, she unveils hidden potential and embraces opportunities once thought unattainable. Witnessing the spark of victory in others' eyes and the tranquillity of fulfillment in their hearts fuels her purpose.

Suzanna's journey thrives on pushing boundaries, defying norms, and rallying individuals toward the pursuit of their dreams. The path ahead is boundless, remarkable, and teeming with exhilaration.

As a devoted mother to three remarkable souls, her trajectory has spanned a history of corporate triumphs and challenges, including CEO and Director roles, culminating in her present role as a dynamic entrepreneur. Embarking on a transformative journey with Unapologetically Successful, she orchestrates ventures that extend beyond The Unapologetically Successful Podcast. Unapologetically Successful is a dynamic expedition, igniting holistic change within businesses and individuals alike.

Believe in the possibility of your own expansion – with Taqdees Razzaq

Believe in the possibility of your own expansion – with Taqdees Razzaq

How do you stop doubt from holding you back from the life you desire to live? You learn  to believe in the possibility of your own expansion.

Taqdees Razzaq is here to help you do exactly that, helping women to step into their power in their most true and authentic way. She calls us toward love and away from fear. She calls for us to step away from scarcity – and into abundance.

Taqdees has been incredibly pivotal in my personal expansion over the past year, and I'm thrilled for you to get to meet her.  In this episode, we each talk about calling ourselves forward into new identities, shedding past things that aren't serving us anymore, and some of the struggles we face with saying "yes" to our next level. How we tether ourselves by trying to fit into boxes and how stepping out of those boxes is what we need in order to become the powerful creators we were truly born to be.

We also discuss the unique gifts and purpose you have, and how those gifts are fulfilling your purpose right now. As she shares, it's the ongoing pursuit of your dreams that truly makes life meaningful and fulfilling.

    Meet Taqdees Razzaq
With just 300 followers, Taqdees Razzaq started her business WowMeem selling authentic clothing from Pakistan on Facebook Marketplace, making over $30,000 in year one, $60,000 in year two and now towards the end of the third year it is now due to hit the 6-figure mark in coming months.

Along with the freedom this company has given her family, she also understands the need for boundaries, flexibility, and positive social impact.

As a master of impact, she has conceived, designed, and established two global non-profits in the past year, Lets Come Forward, providing meals for impoverished families in Pakistan and Peace of the Heart Movement, a sisterhood for the expansion of divine feminine leadership to magnify global peace.

She believes every entrepreneur has the possibility of giving back to society and doing so is the most fulfilling feeling imaginable.

Tapping into the power of your feminine energy

Tapping into the power of your feminine energy

This Thursday thread pulls out a theme from Tuesday's episode (S4 Ep. 55) featuring Gina Moon as I dive into the potentially "taboo" topic of pleasure and the power of embodying the feminine energy.

If the idea of "pleasure" feels taboo or triggering to you (in fact, I'm beginning to think that anything that's "taboo" is something to untether ourselves from), allow yourself to turn inward with curiosity. Why does this trigger me? Where do I feel emotion in my body when this topic arises? How do those emotions feel?  Do this with utter curiosity and as judgment-free as possible.

I also speak in this episode about how embracing my feminine power has offered me some major personal shifts in the past six months or so, and how allowing and embracing the power of extended joy and pleasure can help you make major moves toward achieving your dreams in the most easeful ways.

This is because embracing the feminine energy allows you to magnetize what is a match, so it comes TO you, instead of working so hard FOR it. (Choose and it arrives.) In fact, and as I describe in the episode, it's a misnomer that the strongest sperm wins the fight to the egg. Believe it or not, the egg actually chooses the sperm, and she allows her selection to come in.

We've been living from this place of masculine "push" for a long time, and the pendulum is beginning to swing back. By prioritizing and tapping into your own feminine power, you can avoid burnout by choosing what is truly pleasurable to you and allowing life to unfold in the way that is in alignment for you.

In summary, embracing pleasure and stepping into your feminine power can help you manifest your dreams and desires, align to your purpose, and promote greater overall well-being.

Unleashing the power of pleasure: The secret to a fulfilling life – with Gina Moon

Unleashing the power of pleasure: The secret to a fulfilling life – with Gina Moon

What if you could stop working so hard to create a life you love, and instead, use pleasure?

Yep, you heard that right! According to today's guest, many of the challenges people face today is because most of us are taught to be oriented away from, instead of toward, pleasure.

Gina Moon says this is a big problem. That's why, in this episode, she unlocks the secrets of pleasure, and shares why it's such a powerful manifesting tool.

While pleasure is a taboo topic that makes most people cringe, by the end of the episode, Gina may have you wondering about some of the things you were taught about it and previous beliefs that perhaps you hadn't questioned before. You might even be curious enough to explore how expanding your joy into a state of deep, extended pleasure could help you energetically magnetize your desires into your life.

It's a fascinating conversation that opens up the aperture on many of the things we've been taught about joy and experiencing love.

    Quotable moments from this episode:

    • "Pleasure is sustained joy."
    • "The point of our life is to live in pleasure and joy and to be fulfilled."
    • "You light the world with your pleasure."

Listen to this episode to hear:

    • The reasons we shy away from pleasure, and how that could be holding you back from contributing your gifts in a meaningful way
    • How to use embodied pleasure to create the change in your life that you desire.
    • The science behind how pleasure helps you magnetize the things you desire into your life

    MEET GINA MOON
Gina is a pleasure and embodiment guide, the owner and Priestess of Moon Temple and founder of Moon and Jai. Her self-discovery path spans several decades. She has produced yoga retreats around the world, consulted at Hippocrates Health Institute, created programming for the iconic Sacred Space, and has held space for hundreds of humans in various transformational containers.

Always immersed in shamanic, transformational and mystical disciplines, she loves sharing her playful and ritualistic approach to life. She has learned that living in Devotion, honoring cycles, praying at the altar of nature, and synchronicity produce tangible and glorious results. As she learned that the energy of pleasure and playfulness holds the vibration of eternal life, she has been dedicated to pleasure and embodiment as potent medicine to lead to a deeper connection with Soul.

How to find safety in uncertainty

How to find safety in uncertainty

Have you ever had a time when things are going really well for you, and then a feeling of dread swoops in and knocks you off your feet? So you find yourself riddled with fear or worry, waiting for the next shoe to drop - when you'd rather be enjoying your current expansion or joyful experience?

A recent coaching client shared this question with me (thank you, Amanda), and it relates to Tuesday's episode with Erin where she talks about finding the magic in the uncertainty of life. So, in this Thursday Thread episode, I explore the question: How can we find a balance between embracing uncertainty and seeking stability?

There are two sides of your mind that are always at work: The one who wants to keep you safe, and the one who is seeking new, amazing growth and experiences. An awesome thing happens when we can create spaciousness for both of these things to coexist in harmony, allowing ourselves to make educated decisions we feel great about while enjoying our current, present reality.

Expanding your window of tolerance by regularly engaging in practices that regulate your nervous system is a key strategy that allows you to embrace the magic in uncertainty, while ensuring your mind, body, and heart know you are physically and emotionally safe.

Finding safety in uncertainty can be challenging, I'll admit. It's why I coach using tools that support you with this! Remember that all of this is a process that requires patience, self-awareness, and an open mindset. It may not always be easy, but with practice and being open to support on your journey, you can develop resilience and navigate your life with a greater focus on joy so you can be open to receiving the most aligned opportunities.

What is a healing journey, anyway?

What is a healing journey, anyway?

What the heck is a healing journey, anyway?

In this episode, Jen speaks openly and honestly about what it means to be on a healing journey. She defines what it means to be on one, the symptoms or signs that you might be on one (or ready for it!), and some suggestions of what your next steps might be to begin healing.

What I want you to know, above all else, is that healing is not linear, and it is absolutely normal. While we may feel shame or judgment as we step into our healing journey, this is also normal.

Our societal and relational norms have been placed on us for a reason - we've been conditioned to behave in certain ways...but these ways might not be in accordance with who you truly are. This causes pain, and eventually, death by a thousand paper cuts.

Find environments that help you feel safe and secure to heal. Seek out trustworthy friends, coaches, and mentors who can support you on the journey. You are not alone, and you are exactly where you are supposed to be.

Move forward with the power of the mind-body connection

Move forward with the power of the mind-body connection

Have you tried all the mindset strategies, but still can't seem to make progress?

It's time to come back into your body.

The mind-body connection is a fundamental aspect of our overall well-being and holds the key to unlocking our full potential. It refers to the intricate, innate flow between our thoughts, emotions, and physical sensations, illustrating how closely linked our mental and physical states truly are. Unfortunately, many of us are unaware of this connection and how to use to live more joyful and conscious lives.

I am passionate about sharing my own experiences and knowledge to help others embark on their own transformative journeys.

You, too, can tap into the transformative benefits of deepening your mind-body connection, unlocking new levels of well-being, self-discovery, and personal growth.

In the episode, I share a few techniques to bring yourself into the present moment:

    • Rub two fingers together, focusing feeling the ridges on your fingerprints
    • Feel each of your 10 toes, one at a time
    • Focus your attention on the furthest sound away from you, then a sound that's closer to you, and finally, on the closest sound

I also teach "havening," a somatic practice that allows you to signal safety to your nervous system. To haven:

    • Lightly rub the fingers on one hand on the other arm, beginning with the fingertips and moving down to the elbow. R
    • Say a phrase to yourself that signals safety, like, "It is safe for me to do hard things" or "I am safe to move forward on my dreams."

These are simple ways to reform mind-body connections and increase your window of tolerance, allowing you to move forward toward your goals without hitting road blocks.

How to go from busy to balanced – with Charis Santillie

How to go from busy to balanced – with Charis Santillie

Are you seeking balance in your life? Do you feel like there's so much to do, but not enough time?

Today's guest, Charis Santillie is here to help. As a coach, podcaster, inspirational speaker, and all-around seasoned entrepreneur, she knows what it's like to be born with ambition – and how, when left unchecked, it can lead to a lack of balance in your day-to-day life.

When she was only 19, Charis was in a traumatic hot air balloon crash with her family that left her Dad paralyzed with a broken neck and led her Mom to become an alcoholic. After that, Charis lived her life feeling unsafe, unconsciously scared of everything, and always bracing for impact.

For much of her life, Charis chose to avoid feelings and managed her INTERNAL crisis by staying ridiculously BUSY—giving the illusion of control. In this episode, she shares how we use control to bypass our own feelings, and even though in some ways it's easier to stay shut down from our emotions, why we should wake up and start feeling them.

This is a beautiful conversation about how peeling back the layers of yourself to heal can be challenging, but why it's so worth it so we can more deeply connect with our personal sense of joy, love, and passion.

We all experience events in our lives that cause us pain or disruption, but Charis shares that - despite what life gives you – there is always a way to reserve personal space, balance your needs and wants, and live a fulfilled life on your terms.

Start living a life that's true to you

Start living a life that's true to you

Are you living your life based on others' expectations? If so, you're not alone. In fact, it's the top regret of all humans!

In her book,  "The Top Five Regrets of the Dying," which is on her experiences with terminally ill patients,  Bronnie Ware cites that the top regret faced by those at the end of their lives is: "I wish I'd had the courage to live a life true to myself, not the life others expected of me."

So, if you feel this way – it's normal. But that doesn't mean it's okay!

Humans crave love, and so belonging is really important to us. We want to be understood, cared for, connected, and protected. Unfortunately, this need can leave us bending to the will of what we *think* others want from us, while completely leaving our own wants, needs, and desires in the dust.

Most people spend their lives pursuing the expectations and opinions of others rather than following their own dreams and desires.

We make sacrifices to meet societal or familial expectations, such as pursuing a particular career path, staying in unfulfilling relationships, or neglecting personal aspirations. At the end of life (or in the middle!) this make us feel like we've missed opportunities and unfulfilled our potential.

The time to untether from others' expectations and to start living up to your own is not when you are on your death bed. It is right NOW.

Start prioritizing your own happiness, authenticity, and personal fulfillment today. Make choices that align with your inner truth. Start identifying and releasing the tethers of codependency for the betterment of yourself and those around you.

Now, admittedly, this is a journey. Freeing yourself from the burden of other people's expectations takes time and practice. Be patient and compassionate with yourself as you work towards prioritizing your own well-being and living a more authentic life.

In case you're curious, here are the top five regrets outlined in Ware's book:

    1. "I wish I'd had the courage to live a life true to myself, not the life others expected of me."
    2. "I wish I hadn't worked so hard."
    3. "I wish I'd had the courage to express my feelings."
    4. "I wish I had stayed in touch with my friends."
    5. "I wish I had let myself be happier."

Why selfishness is the path to happiness - with Pascale Cook-Fernandes

Do you feel like your desires are selfish? Or maybe you even struggle clearly see what your desires are?

This is so much more normal than you think! Pascale Cook-Fernandes is on the podcast today to share why selfishness is the key to helping us find clarity of purpose, desires, and ultimately, our path to fulfillment.

We talk about how, as women, we give ourselves away to other people, and how that sense of belonging to others can leave us feeling lost – almost like we don't even know who we are. When it comes to finding meaningful work, a job we love, a business that thrives, or fulfilling relationships, this lack of knowing ourselves is detrimental to our happiness.

Pascale tells us why coming into resonance with our true selves is the key to finding clarity and joy on our paths, and how loving is the ultimate way.

Listen to this episode to hear:

    • Why being SELF-ish is essential for your ability to show up for others
    • Why women give their power away, and how to take it back
    • How energy work can help you find the  clarity you're seeking
    • How to make decisions that are aligned to you
