Beyond the Obstacles (i.e. loss of motivation, over-weight, out of shape, injury, aging, etc)
Life throws obstacles our way, and sometimes they can feel like towering boulders, especially when it comes to reclaiming our health and fitness. In the realm of motherhood, where time and energy are precious commodities, it's easy to get consumed by the challenges of being overweight, out of shape, or grappling with a loss of motivation or injury. But here's the magic—let's zoom out. What seems like a monumental rock up close can transform into a mere pebble when we shift our perspective. It's about embracing the 'beyond' in beyond obstacles. Firstly, keep your perspective broad; it's not an all-or-nothing journey. Secondly, stay in a zoomed-out mode, be curious, ditch the judgment. Lastly, imagine what awaits beyond that obstacle—how you'd feel, what you'd discover about yourself, and how equipped you'd be to inspire and mentor others on their journey. Let's navigate these challenges together. Listen how some of our team elevate ambassador navigate through their obstacles, and how we can move through them with less pain.

Why Are You Holding Onto Pain?

Why Are You Holding Onto Pain?

    Show Notes:
Beyond the fear of the unknown, getting emotionally attached & wanting validation and sympathy from others I experienced, there are several other reasons people will hold onto their pain.

Needing a sense of control is a common one. When you hang onto your pain, you feel more in control of your life & use it to feel significant, or even choose to define yourself by your pain.

Another common reason is believing you need to be punished or reminded of your pain on a regular basis, so you hold onto it until you believe your sentence is over.

Something I know a lot of people don’t even consider is holding onto their pain for lack of coping mechanisms. When you don’t know how to release the pain & find a way new way to process what’s going on, you WILL continue to cling to your pain.

The most common reason is unresolved trauma. We haven’t taken the time to really understand what we are feeling, what it is leading us to do & think about, and what needs to happen next to move forward.

Romans 8:18, "Yet what we suffer now is nothing compared to the glory he will reveal to us later."
5 reasons we should no longer hold onto pain in our lives:

    1. Improved Relationships
      1. If there is bitterness, resentment or lack of trust in current relationships, letting go of your pain can alleviate some of these current things.
      2. Psalm 147:3, “He heals the brokenhearted and bandages their wounds.”
    2. Increased Resilience
      1. You can’t bounce back very well from problems & struggles if you’re still carrying around pain from other experiences.
      2. Psalm 34:17-18: "The Lord hears his people when they call to him for help. He rescues them from all their troubles. The Lord is close to the brokenhearted; he rescues those whose spirits are crushed."
    3. Personal Growth
      1. When you keep hold of your pain, you hold yourself back in the past. You can’t move forward being so hyper-focused on what happened in the past.
      2. Matthew 11:28-30: "Then Jesus said, 'Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.'"
    4. Being Open to New Things
      1. Holding onto our pain is similar to having a fixed mindset. You narrow your view in life, thus missing out on opportunities.
      2. Philippians 4:6-7: "Don't worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God's peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus."
    5. It Only Hinders Us, Never Helps Us
      1. Clutching tight to your pain will NOT gain you anything. It will just get in your way & cause you more trouble. Let it go, please.
      2. John 14:27: "I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don't be troubled or afraid."

    Will I ever get there?

    Will I ever get there?

Does your perspective help you move forward or keep you stuck? I discuss 3 ways you could  currently be seeing the situations in your life. They are:

    doubt or desire,

    problem or possibility, and

    failing vs figuring it out.

Then I offer a few ideas that can help you  change your perspective.

All of these things take noticing what lenses you are seeing out of and being willing to stick with it until you figure it out.

Our bootcamp this February will be a great place to learn more about developing a new perspective, and how to see from the lenses you desire.

Taking Action vs Getting Stuck in Your Head

Taking Action vs Getting Stuck in Your Head

Have you ever been stuck in your head?

Do you take action at that point?

This week we are talking about how taking actions helps get you out of your head.

One of the big ways we stay stuck is by self judgment.

At the beginning of this new year, the first step is to notice when you are judging yourself.

    FOOD FREEDOM

    FOOD FREEDOM

What do you think when you think of food and the holidays? This week I want to address the idea of feeling restrictive and trapped if you want to be at a healthy athletic weight.

In most conversations I have with people they bring up the topic of food. I hear them say things like, they wish they didn't have to restrict, they don't want to have to worry about food, and they want to be about to eat what they feel like at the moment, and not follow a plan.

As I unwind these ideas, I will show you that you can have food freedom without worrying,  feeling restrictive, or trapped. It is worth listening and it is worth retraining your brain and body because then you get to live the biggest life possible without food holding you back.

On the Team, we work on getting the right framework to get you on the track you want with your food.

    It is time to W.I.N.

    It is time to W.I.N.

Time is a precious gift and it is finite. Where are you spending your time? On the podcast this week I offer a simple 3 question self assessment to see how you spend your time. We have one wild and precious life, so how are you using your time to cultivate that life?

Then decide where you are spending your time, and if it aligns with what you value.

Once we figure out what we are striving for, we can decide with more clarity to WIN (What’s Important Now).

Then it is not just the actions you take. There are two things that precede the actions. These steps need to be taken if you want to make lasting change and have the courage to stay committed.
