Vince Jones Lives a FULL Life!

Vince Jones Lives a FULL Life!

#229 - To say Vince Jones keeps busy would be an understatement! Vince runs, he's an Ironman, he's on an amateur hockey team and he coaches other athletes. Plus! He's a full-time college teacher. And, has a family! Where does he find the time for everything? That's part of his story this week. I really loved talking with Vince. He has a passion for life, for movement, for athletics, including hockey, as I do and he has a passion for helping others. He also going into detail about the unfortunate accident hat happened to him just recently. I'll let him tell you about that. You'll be inspired and if you're like me, you'll want to fit more activities into your life!

Josh Mathe: Life Is An Adventure!

#201 - Misadventures make great stories. Josh has a few of those. OK, he has lots of those! He has enough to fill the three books he's written ,  and he shares a few with us this week. He's not only an author, but a coach, speaker and endurance athlete who has found himself in a few precarious predicaments. You won't want to miss them! All his information can be found on the MRTW website!

Just a short note: In the interview I talk about doing the Hunter S Thompson Fear & Loathing 50k. I have since dropped out of that race. Hopefully, I can do it next year.

S6E12 Luke Tyburski: 2000km Triathlon in 12days and the Dark Side of Elite Performance...

The ULTIMATE Triathlon: 2000km in 12 days! Swimming from Morocco to Spain, then cycling and running to Monaco in 12 days!

Luke Tyburski is one of the most elite ultra-endurance athletes alive! He was named by Forever Sports Magazine as one of the top 50 fittest athletes in the world in 2016.
He has completed the Marathon de Sables a 250km 7-day marathon through the Sahara desert, ran 660km from the bottom of Ireland to the top,  among many, many more.

But behind all the magazine articles, podcasts, and TV interviews, his mental health was plummeting out of control. He struggled with severe depression, binge eating 2-3tubs of ice cream a night, and even got to the point of standing on a bridge debating about taking his own life...

His story is a story of running from pain (literally), finding vulnerability, and the incredible power (positive and negative) of mental strength and resilience.

Zach Bush - Follow Your Heart!

#184 - Zach Bush runs a lot. He also swims and cycles a lot. One day, he decided he wanted to road race more than trail race. Most people I know go from roads to trails, so I found this reversal interesting and so honest. Zach talks about following what he wants, no matter the trends or what others do. He talks about his hard work maintaining his fitness, and doing the races and workouts that he truly wants.

Emmy had kidney failure and waited years for a transplant. Exercise got her through it.

Emmy was diagnosed with end-stage kidney failure in her early 30s.

She underwent grueling 4-hour dialysis sessions twice a week for two years, while waiting for a lifesaving kidney transplant. There were times when she was so exhausted she couldn’t get out of bed.

During these years she faced some of her darkest and most challenging days.

So Emmy began to exercise. She started slowly with gentle swimming. Then she added a boxing class, yoga and weight training, progressively increasing her exercise as her fitness improved.

Training for Fun Runs and triathlons gave Emmy something to focus on during the agonizing wait for a transplant.

On this episode Emmy shares her incredible story with Gab and Sarah.

    Why did you START?

    Why did you START?

How many times have you felt stuck or like giving up on your goals or challenges? On the podcast this week, I offer three ways to help you get unstuck.

The first thing I suggest is asking “why did I start?”. Remembering why you started and taping back into what you wanted in the beginning, will help recharge you.

As you move through the three ways to get unstuck, you will get back into action and move closer to your finish line or the next level version of yourself.

    Challenges That Change You

    Challenges That Change You

If you are still living, there is still room to grow, and you grow from challenges.
Embrace them and ask yourself “what did I learn from my last challenge?”

Oftentimes when life is easy, we aren’t growing.

Life will hand you challenges or you can choose challenges, but either way it is the challenges that change you into the next version of yourself.

Both of them help you face life better in the future.

I share in this podcast how the challenges I chose helped me face the challenges that life chose for me.

What is the PROCESS to TRUE TRANSFORMATION? (not just TEMPORARY CHANGE)

What is the PROCESS to TRUE TRANSFORMATION? (not just TEMPORARY CHANGE)

Have you had a transformation? Oftentimes we change things, but it is a rarity to have a lasting change, a true transformation.

Like the caterpillar to the butterfly, it never goes back to a caterpillar, that is what I want to help each of you do. On the podcast this week, I share the process to get lasting change.

Here are the three steps we discuss:

    1- curiosity to clarity

    2- edit to edify

    3- maintain

I not only help moms get to the finish line or lose weight, I help them discover their best and healthiest self in the process. They change their lifestyle, but more importantly they change who they have become.
