Suicide Prevention and Destigmatizing Suicide with Psychologist Dr. Via Strong

Suicide Prevention and Destigmatizing Suicide with Psychologist Dr. Via Strong

Dr. Strong takes on the topic of Suicide Prevention today.

She covers the importance of open communication and dialogue with regards to this topic, creating safe environments to speak about it, and not shaming someone for having thoughts of suicide. Dr. Strong speaks about identity and reframes how we can change our mindset on how we perceive difficult things we go through. Dr. Strong reviews red flags to help identify someone who may be struggling with thoughts of suicide and how to help them find resources.

We know this is a heavier topic, but we wanted to capitalize on having access to this medium and having the opportunity to have a conversation with an expert to help shed light on suicide prevention.

It's Time To Talk About Suicide... (World Suicide Prevention Day 2018)

It's Time To Talk About Suicide... (World Suicide Prevention Day 2018)
Todays been overwhelming but inspiring, with interviews for Sky News, LBC and the amazing MQ Mental Health. So even though it's late, I wanted to put together this episode to let you know why we should talk about suicide. Why, together... we should stand up to suicide. The statistics that surround suicide need no explanation, with someone taking their own life every 40 seconds and with it being the biggest killer of young people... But what can we do to talk more openly about suicide? What can we do to break down the stigma? In this episode I share a personal experience and share why it's time we finally did something about this.
