Ep 38 - Refreshing your Bylaws for a Better Future

In this episode, we're going to talk about why it's important for clubs to update their bylaws. As a nonprofit organization, your bylaws serve as the fundamental document that outlines how your organization should run. I will give some tips on how to avoid some common pitfalls and challenges. Remember, the bylaws are your main governing document, not just suggestions. Don't ditch the legal advice.

    Ep 35 - A Board's Duties

    Ep 35 - A Board's Duties

Everyone should have an understanding of the board's fiduciary duties. Whether you are an aspiring board member or a coach, you must understand what living up to those duties requires and how it serves the club business overall.

Sometimes, on the outside, decisions seem to be unreasonable or rash. What parents and coaches need to understand is more times than not, there's more to the story. Often information can't be divulged, but ultimately a board has duties to ensure the club is managed in a responsible manner.

Listen to this week's podcast to understand more.

Monique Barry - Sing or Swim

Monique Barry - Sing or Swim
Monique Barry is a classically-trained singer, songwriter, composer, and music educator. Her music is unique, ethereal, dreamlike, and emotional, and ranges from techno pop to ambient folk. Monique's latest album—HAAK—is being released one single at a time - a slow drip of elegant melodies and intricate beats. The latest single—"Time"—is a spellbinding exploration of what Tennessee Williams called "the longest distance between two places".

Monique possesses a truly independent spirit, dedicating her passion and skills to every aspect of music-making: from nurturing an initial song idea and creating a demo, to arranging, producing, packaging and promoting a full album. In this conversation, she and Jane discuss the intricacies, joys, and challenges of life in the indie lane: gigs, bands, travel, funding, reviews, airplay, and the inevitable...TikTok. Plus, Monique talks about her most recent adventure - cold water swimming.
