    My guests today are Thor Eells and Don Kester from the National Tactical Officers Association or NTOA which is the largest tactical organization in the United States. Thor is a retired commander from the Colorado Springs Colorado Police Department where he served for 30 years. The majority of which was in tactical response including serving as a swat operator, a swat team leader and a team commander. Thor is currently the Executive Director for NTOA after serving many years as a board member and a trainer. Don is retired from the Pima County Sheriff’s Department in Arizona where he served as a SWAT team operator, team leader, team sergeant, training director and SWAT team commander eventually retiring as a Division
    Commander and Captain. Don is currently the training and education director for the NTOA after many years of service as a trainer and a board member.

    On today's Zero Limits Podcast I sit down in the studio with Christopher Korfias former Australian Army infantry 2RAR dig and 2nd Commando Regiment operator.

    Chris grew up in Sydney with the sights from a young age set on joining the army. In 2003 Chris joined up as a reservist however 18 months later he transferred to the regular army getting posted to the 2nd Battalion Royal Australian Regiment and deployed shortly after arriving to Timor Leste in 2006. Chris had his younger brother also serve at 2RAR and is still serving to this day as a CSM.  In 2009 Chris completed commando selection and  subsequently did two rotations to Afghanistan. On his second deployment to Afghanistan he went as a sniper in which he was involved in heavy kinetic operations. Let's GO!

    Dallas Alexander was a member of Joint Task Force 2 (JTF 2), an extremely high-readiness and precise special operations forces unit. JTF 2 exists to protect Canadian national interests and combat terrorism and threats to Canadians at home and abroad.  Dallas was a member of a sniper team that was responsible for the world's farthest confirmed sniper shot while on a deployment in Iraq.

    Post-service, Dallas has pursued his music career, focusing on singing, songwriting, and live performances.

    On today's Zero Limits Podcast all the way from Brazil, I chat with Nico Seedsman former Australian Special Forces operator from the Special Air Service Regiment better known as SASR. Nico set his sights on the SASR at a young age however he enlisted in the Royal Australian Navy as a electronic technician. He sent roughly two years in the navy and then attempted and passed Special Forces Entry Test. Soon after he was service transferred to the army spending a short time in Kapooka and then moving to initial employment training for the infantry. He was posted to 8/9RAR and after a year successfully completed the SASR selection. After a grueling reinforcement cycle he was issued his sandy beret and became a fully qualified SASR operator. Nico deployed to Afghanistan 3 times and was involved in heavy kinetic fighting with the Taliban. Listen in for more of his story. Let's GO!

     Aussie Frontline is a company dedicated to first responder, ADF member and veteran wellbeing. They achieve their mission by encouraging community and positive culture throughout the various services, while drawing them together to better support one another. Aussie Frontline uses a portion of AF shirt sales to directly fund 1-on-1 counselling for struggling members of the frontline community. They also run a Pay it Forward system facilitating acts of kindness and support throughout the national frontline community, which have been initiated by a stranger. After completing IET’s he was posted to 1RAR. Declan deployed with the battalion to East Timor in 2001. In 2003 he was posted to the ADF school of languages to learn Farsi/Dari. Declan returned back to 1RAR in 2004 and applied for and was successful for Commando selection in 2005. In 2006 he deployed to East Timor with A Coy and to Afghanistan in 2007. Declan deployed to Afghanistan again in 2009 & 2011 with C Coy and then spent his last two years in the Tactical Assault Group with both C & D coy’s. After 14 years in the army he discharged from the Army in 2014. Let's GO!

    My guest today is a legend in the US tactical community Chief Phil Hansen.  Phil recently retired after serving as the Chief of Police for the Santa Maria California Police Department.  But prior to Santa Maria Phil retired as a Captain from the Los Angeles Country Sherriff’s Department where he served for 36 years.  During his tenure at LASD he spent more than 24 years in full time tactical and emergency management positions, including nearly 20 years at the elite Special Enforcement Bureau (SEB). Phil has served as a board member of the National Tactical Officers Association since 1991 including serving as the Chairman of the Board. He is a member of the executive committee for the California POST SWAT guidelines, and has served as a board of inquiry member for LAPD and Oakland PD.

    On today's Zero Limits Podcast I chat with former Australian Army Special Forces, 2nd Commando Regiment, Warrant Officer Nick Hill. Nick served in Malaysia, East Timor, Iraq and Afghanistan as well as being deployed to other countries including Egypt, Israel and the United States of America. Nick spent his twenty-five-year career (1989-2014) predominately in the 2nd Commando Regiment. Nick was selected to be part of the stand-up of Tactical Assault Group – East (TAG-E). In late January of 2002 Nick was sent to SASR in Perth to begin the 1st Advanced Close Quarter Battle (ACQB) course with 30 other members of 4 Cdo and 10 RAN CD’s. Nick successfully completed the ACQB Cse with 15 others, 9 Cdo’s and 6 Cd’s, and became the Plank holders of TAG-E.  Nick deployed to Afghanistan as the CSM of Bravo Commando Company (BCCG) from July 2011 – February 2012 Special Operations Task Group, Rotation XVI . During that deployment BCCG conducted over 80 Combat Operations in Urazghan, Zabul, Kandahar and Helmand Provinces. Over 90% of the Operations were conducted by Helicopter with support from CH47-D Chinooks from B Coy, 1-52 Avn Regt, Apache & Blackhawks 3-101 Avn Regt, CH53-Es from HMH 464, 2nd US Marine Air Wingand the Afghan Arial Interdiction Unit, (Mi-17s).  Conducting mostly Counter Narcotic mission known as Nexus Operations or as they called it Operation Markha Niwel or simply “Counter Narc Ops” – The Targeting of The Intersection Of Criminal And Taliban Networks with the DEA’s FAST (Foreign Advisory Support Teams). THe company spent much of these missions in the bad lands of Helmand Province, specifically the Kajaki Sofala and Northern Helmand area. By the end of the Rotation, Commandos had destroyed an estimated $1billion worth of Heroin (US Street Value). We became known as Billion Dollar Bravo.

Strike Force Raptor was established in 2009 and conducts proactive investigations and intelligence-based, high-impact policing operations to prevent and disrupt conflicts, and dismantle any network engaged in serious organised criminal activity. Murphy joined the strike force operations which led to heavy mainstream media criticism of his policing heavy handed tactics and members of the public wanting him sacked. Every story has two sides.     On today's episode I sit down with the NSW Police Tactical Operations Unit Officer Ben also known as "Officer A".  He was the TOU officer who killed the Lindt Cafe terrorist and he tells us about the moment he came face-to-face with the killer who terrorised Sydney and how he also expected to die also airing his frustration as senior police hesitated while a hostage was executed. Due to the multiple current suppression orders Ben's full name and identity to an extent is still kept anonymous.

    Ben aka "Officer A" VA (Medal of Valor) was brought up in the Hawkesbury north-west of Sydney.  'Officer A' was in the New South Wales Police Force for nearly 20 years.

    The Lindt Cafe siege was a terrorist attack that occurred on 15–16 December 2014 when a lone gunman, shit bag, held hostage ten customers and eight employees of a Lindt chocolate café in the APA Building in Martin Place, Sydney, Australia. Shitbag was armed with a pump shotgun and a 'backpack bomb' and held 18 hostages for 17 hours before police stormed in.

    On today's Zero Limits Podcast we chat with owner of Origin K9 former 3RAR and 2nd Commando Regiment operator Thomas Brown. Growing up in Sydney Tom set his sights on joining the army which he decided he'd join the reserve forces. After two years he realised that he wanted more and want to transition to the fulltime army as an infantry soldier. After the career transition he was posted to the 3rd Battalion Royal Australian Regiment and deployed to Afghanistan as an infantry battalion in 2012. Upon return to Australia and unsettled on his career Tom decided to transfer back to the reserves and do some traveling. After seeing special forces soldiers working in Afghanistan the seed was planted where he decided to attempt 2CDO selection which he passed and soon completed his reinforcement cycle to be badged as a 2 Commando special forces operator. During his posting he spent time in the Tactical Assault Group East ( TAG E) and then was deployed to Iraq on operation okra in 2016. After returning from Iraq and having a relationship breakdown contributed to a mental breakdown which Tom attempted and acted on self harm. With seconds to live he decided not to go through with the self harm attempt however the Police were called and he was admitted into hospital under watch. Moving forward he is now the owner of Origin K9 a company providing K9 solutions to a wide market and he is also the host of the Origin K9 podcast which can be found on many platforms talking specifically about the K9 industry.     On the next Zero Limits Podcast we have chat with a 29year British Army and Australian SASR veteran Andy White.  Andy began his military within the British army serving as infantry soldier joining at the age of 16. During his time he did multiple deployments to Northern Ireland and was involved in the invasion of Iraq. His deployments to Iraq were as expected and seen some heavy fighting sustaining WIA's and KIA's whilst gaining valuable war fighting experience. In 2007 Andy made requested a lateral transfer to the Australian Army and after being accepted he was soon posted to the School of Infantry in Singleton NSW. After a short stint in location he soon wanted to try out for SASR selection. In 2008 he attempted SASR selection passing on his first attempt and continued on with the reinforcement cycle of training to become a qualified SASR Trooper. In 2009 he completed the rigorous SASR reinforcement cycle and was presented his sandy beret to become a fully qualified SASR Operator. In 2010 Andy deployed on his first rotation to Afghanistan which during this deployment a fellow SASR Trooper Jason Brown was killed in action with the patrol including Andy receiving mentions due to the fighting and actions taken to neutralize the enemy also the attempts to save Trooper Brown's life. Over the next few years Andy deployed to Afghanistan three more times and was involved in some of the heaviest fighting the Australian Army had seen since the Vietnam war.     On today's Zero Limits Podcast we chat to Nick Lavery an active duty member of The United States Army Special Forces. Commonly known as Green Berets, the Special Forces perform critical missions including direct action, counterinsurgency, foreign internal defense, special reconnaissance, and unconventional warfare. 

    In 2013, on Nick's second combat rotation to Afghanistan, he and his Detachment fell victim to an insider attack and was shot 4 times in the right leg from only 15 feet away with a PKM machine gun ultimately resulting in the loss of his leg. Following a year of surgeries and initial recovery including the use of a prosthetic at Walter Reed National Medical Military Center, he returned to his unit. Refusing a military medical retirement, Nick set his sights on returning to operational status. In 2015, at the conclusion of a challenging, comprehensive assessment designed to evaluate Nick's abilities to operate, he returned to his Detachment and was subsequently deployed once again to Afghanistan conducting full spectrum combat operations.     On this Zero Limits Podcast episode we chat  Australian Special Forces Veteran Murray Turner. Murray after being inspired by the movie Lethal Weapon had a application submitted on behalf of a friend to become a NSW Police Officer. After a short two year career as a Police Officer, Murray was looking to further his career in which he decided to join the Royal Australian Army. Upon being accepted into the military post training he was posted to the 2nd Battalion Royal Australian Regiment. He then completed selection for then 4RAR which now is the 2nd Commando Regiment. He spent a total of 16 years as Commando deploying to East Timor and multiple highly kinetic Afghanistan operations as part of Special Operations Task Group (SOTG). Part of Special Operations Command (SOCOMD) the 2nd Commando Regiment is one of three combat-capable units within SOCOMD and operates in conjunction with other SOCOMD units, services and interagency organisations in joint and combined operations. The role of the regiment is to conduct large scale offensive, support and recovery operations beyond the scope and capability of other Australian Defence Force (ADF) units. LET'S GO!
