Tai Chi - Princeton Spine And Joint Center Podcast

In episode 22 of the Princeton Spine and Joint Center podcast, Dr Zinovy Meyler, the co-director of the interventional spine program at the Princeton Spine and Joint Center discusses Tai Chi with Sifu Tony Jackson, founder of Dao Concepts.

Tai Chi. Most of us are familiar with the common scene in which it is portrayed; a group of seniors practicing slow movements in a park. As you will learn in this podcast conversation, tai chi is far more than that. It is a serious form of martial arts that has many different dimensions including a mental and psychological aspect with multiple benefits.

Our podcast guest, Sifu Tony Jackson of Dao Concepts, has a military background, then went through the corporate world, and ended up using tai chi for his own well being. He learned it to the point where it became a central part of his life. Now Tony is teaching tai chi. In this conversation, you will learn the different benefits of tai chi, the different aspects of tai chi, the psychological component, the historical component, and the physical component that makes this such a great form of martial arts.

Episode 20: Danny Dreyer-Run Better with Tai Chi?

Episode 20: Danny Dreyer-Run Better with Tai Chi?

Most people think of Tai Chi as something that old people do. That's moving really slowly and it's all very meditative. But what if something like Tai Chi could help you become a better, faster, healthier runner that finds you running and moving, more pleasant, more enjoyable, and more efficient? We're going to find out about that on today's episode of The MOVEMENT Movement, the podcast for people who want to know the truth about how to have a happy, healthy, strong body, usually starting from the feet first, because that is your foundation.

    138 - WarGreymon vs. Mechagodzilla

    138 - WarGreymon vs. Mechagodzilla

Welcome, once again, to Tokyo, Japan. Once again, the stage is set for an age-old conflict to play itself out once more on the streets of this iconic city. Is it kind of insane that this keeps happening? Sure. Is there any end to the cycle of violence and confusion? Probably not. But are we going to try, once again, to repair the rift between opposing forces and find some sort of common ground? I mean, it's not what we usually do around here, but hey, you never know.

...wait, WarGreymon vs. Mechagodzilla? A pitched battle between a pair of powerful pugilists? Oh yeah, I guess that's also happening. I was talking about the conflict between Miles and all things produced by Japanese media. See, Miles is the judge for this one, and he knows almost nothing about Digimon. So in order to make their arguments, this week's advocates are going to have to... explain a few things. Will Miles' brain survive long enough for him to reach a verdict? Is there any hope that he might come out of this match with something resembling a better understanding of how and why these small digital monsters transform into larger monsters? And most importantly, is there any limit to the number of words you can add the prefix "digi" to?

Have no fear, listeners, there is also an actual match in here somewhere. A match in which Tai Kamiya's faithful friend, Agumon, must use all the powers of his final form in an attempt to defeat the metallic cyborg version of Godzilla! Will WarGreymon's Dramon Destroyers and Chrome Digizoid be enough to overcome the evil impostor and protect the DigiDestined? Or will Mechagodzilla's eye lasers, missile fingers, and gun knees bring it the victory over its comparatively diminutive adversary? Find out in what might be the most convoluted and yet joke-packed episode of Smash Fiction yet!

BC-056 Coach Paul Schmitendorf Speaks About The Importance of Having A Game Plan To Prevent, Heal From, and Prevent Recurrence From Cancer

BC-056 Coach Paul Schmitendorf Speaks About The Importance of Having A Game Plan To Prevent, Heal From, and Prevent Recurrence From Cancer
The group of people most susceptible to getting cancer are those people who've already had it once and haven't made any changes to their diet, lifestyle, and other key risk factors.  They typically haven't figured out what got them in trouble in the first place and addressed those issues.  Whether you've had cancer once before or you'd like to never get cancer, having a simple cancer prevention game plan can make the difference.  In this podcast we'll talk about how you can begin to take an active, conscious role in preventing cancer.  At the Center for Advancement in Cancer Education we believe cancer is a highly preventable disease and that prevention starts with well thought out game plan.

A simple game plan starts with a diet high in fruits and vegetables while reducing sugar, processed foods, meat, dairy, and omega-6 fats.  Of course smoking is a key risk factor and should not be a part of a cancer prevention game plan.  Getting 30 minutes of exercise a day can lower cancer risk considerably.  Exercise can be as simple as going for a 30-minute walk on a daily basis.  Another important aspect of a game plan it considering what negative or trapped emotions we're holding onto.  Working through these by talking with a close friend or counselor can be an important step in living more joyfully and reducing cancer risk.  It's also important to consider the level of stress in one's life.  People tend to know when their lives have become overstressed.  The key then is to take action steps to reduce stress, perhaps by changing jobs or ending toxic relationships.  Simple stress relieving techniques like exercise, spending time in nature, meditation, EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique), yoga and Tai Chi can be helpful.  Encouraging your "internal terrain" to detoxify on a regular basis is important for creating an inhospitable environment for cancer cells to grow.  We can do this by fasting, cleansing, juice cleansing, sweating out toxins in a sauna, and improving detoxification through colon hydrotherapy.  One final element to a cancer prevention game plan is to be mindful of sun exposure. Getting 20-30 minutes of sunlight on the skin each day, preferably in the morning, is important in helping the body to create Vitamin D.  Vitamin D is actually a hormone that greatly reduces cancer risk when maintained at a healthy level.  Supplementing with Vitamin D during the winter months is often necessary to maintain optimum levels.  If making many changes feels overwhelming, then consider making one change each month.  By the end of a year you'll have adopted a cancer prevention lifestyle.  Prevention is the cure!

    Eastern Energy

This week Dan and Brent discuss Chi, Qi, and Ki, or Life Force Energy.  Flowing in every human is an energy that can help heal and improve our lives.  Even martial arts such as Aikido and Tai Chi use this energy to improve their fighting effectiveness.  Real or not, you decide. Side note there are Endgame spoilers early in this episode. #LiveForever #Chi #Ki #Energy
