Taking Up Space and Allowing Ourselves to Just Be

Taking Up Space and Allowing Ourselves to Just Be

What is our impact supposed to look like in this world?

As a society of doers, there’s this narrative that says our worth as moms is equal to our productivity, that we must “do” something with our time in order to be worthy of having it, especially something that can be externally measured. But what if our bodies are rebelling and recoiling?

Sometimes the most productive thing we can do for ourselves and our families is to listen and to rest when our bodies call for it. Today, I’m giving you a peek behind the scenes into my own inner callings that have been surfacing lately, and some questions I’ve been grappling with.

For us moms who already “do” beyond the comprehension of money and beyond the hours of a typical job, at what point can we just soften into being?

Believing You Are Valuable + Deserve to Take Up Space: Client Interview with Margot Van’t Rood

Believing You Are Valuable + Deserve to Take Up Space: Client Interview with Margot Van’t Rood

Today I’m joined today by my client Margot Van’t Rood where she shares how her experience with coaching led to a deep internal self-generated safety and ability to take up space. You’ll hear her say “Now I feel that I am valuable. I have value and it's not dependent on what I do. I'm not valuable because I did the dishes and I cleaned the room and I did these things. I am valuable. Period. Full stop.”

If you enjoy this podcast, I highly recommend joining my 1-1 coaching for perfectionists, The Accelerator today at https://courtneylovegavin.com/accelerator

An internal sense of safety is built from recognizing your authentic power and trusting there is an unwavering well of support and guidance within you. It starts with honoring and appreciating your true authentic self, committing to the deep work and bravely accepting being in the now.

I love how Margot describes some people's hesitation with coaching because we don't want anyone to know we  don’t have it all figured out but in reality, we all have unique yet similar experiences and it's all part of our humanness. Coaches are here to show you your blind spots and guide you to where you desire to grow.

Through her own growth, Margot discovered that part of her work here in this lifetime is to help guide others to a life of simplicity and share her own journey of shedding all the things weighing her down.

You'll absolutely love this conversation. It’s time to quiet the self-doubting voices in your head so that You too can feel empowered and find satisfying, simplified success.

taking up space, acceptance, mindfulness in motherhood, and catching ideas with mari orkenyi ((part 1)) 🌸

Mari Orkenyi and I became friends the moment we met. Our conversation flowed and I didn’t want to leave anything out so I decided to break it into two parts. Mari is a Contemplative Educator, Mindfulness and Compassion Teacher and Writer. Her work lives in the space where Contemplative Practices, Buddhist Psychology and Western Psychotherapy intersect. As a native Brazilian immigrant with Hungarian roots, living in Los Angeles by way of Spain and Mexico, her multicultural perspectives and backgrounds are continuously informing her work. In this episode we talk about the connection between mindfulness and creativity, allowing yourself to take up space as you are today, motherhood, boundaries, identifying as an artist, growing up in Brazil, catching ideas, and much more.
