Exodus 6:2-9:35 (Va’era) Our God of Revelation and Relationship

Exodus 6:2-9:35 (Va’era) Our God of Revelation and Relationship
In this portion, parashat, the covenant-keeping God, Hashem is going to reveal himself to Moses and the Israelites in a life-changing way. God had spoken to Moses and declared himself as the LORD, but He had not yet revealed himself as the LORD. This is how the portion opens, Yahweh is telling Moses how he had revealed himself to the patriarchs, and that they had not known him as His sacred name. The LORD had spoken but now he would be revealing by experience. Yahweh, our Father not only speaks to us but he also orchestrates opportunities for His nature to be revealed to us by our experience of relationship with Him.

The book we mentioned in this podcast, Sinai to Zion is by Joel Richardson.

Exodus 1:1-6:1 (Shemot) The Covenant Keeping God: Yahweh

Exodus 1:1-6:1 (Shemot) The Covenant Keeping God: Yahweh
In this first portion of Exodus, we transition from Joseph’s story to that of Israel’s Deliverer, Moses. Moses’ birth is one of significance and it demonstrates the hand of the Lord upon him even as a child. He grows up in Egypt as the adopted son of the Pharaoh’s daughter only to become a fugitive that must return to Egypt as a Deliverer. Moses has his concerns and reservations, but what we discover is that Yahweh is fulfilling his covenant promise to Abraham from Genesis 15. Yahweh’s plan of redemption is in full swing and this story of deliverance will be one for the ages! Literally.

Some resources mentioned in this episode include:
The Unseen Realm by Dr. Michael Heiser
Sinai to Zion by Joel Richardson
The Passover King by Travis M. Snow

Throughout the Exodus story and the upcoming portions we hope to share insights that reveal the powerful significance of Israel’s deliverance not only in reference to our redemption through our “lamb of God”, Yeshua, Jesus of Nazareth but also its significance for the last days. The books by Richardson and Snow go into depth around that important theme. Highly recommend those reads.

Genesis 47:28-50:26 (Vayechi) The Power of the Blessing

Genesis 47:28-50:26 (Vayechi) The Power of the Blessing
In this portion we discuss the power of blessing. Israel (Jacob) is coming to the end of his life and he takes his sons and blesses them, including Joseph’s two sons, Ephraim and Manasseh as his own. The words of Jacob are prophetic in nature and highlight the prophetic destiny of each of the tribes. Despite all of challenges in Joseph’s life, Jacob’s journey and that of Isaac and the father of faith Abraham, we see the power of the promised blessing overcoming. Be encourage that your promise has the power to overcome every obstacle and hindrance if you remain in faith, trusting in the One who is faithful and has promised.

    Genesis 44:18-47:27 (Vayigash) Joseph’s Reveal

    Genesis 44:18-47:27 (Vayigash) Joseph’s Reveal
In this week’s Torah portion we discuss Joseph’s reveal to his brothers and how it is an archetype for the revealing of Yeshua to his own Jewish people. Joseph now understand why he was sent by God to Eygpt, not as a revengeful act from his brothers, but rather to preserve a remnant during the famine and to secure a great deliverance. The plan of redemption is revealed in Genesis through the lives of the patriarchs and the promises of Yahweh to his chosen people. There is so much in this Torah portion, we only touched on a few highlights. Hopefully this encourages your own deeper study of the Torah portions. Genesis 41:1-44:17 (Miketz) Joseph’s End is a New Beginning of Faith

Genesis 41:1-44:17 (Miketz) Joseph’s End is a New Beginning of Faith
In this Torah portion, Joseph’s time in prison ends so that his prophetic destiny can begin. The dreams that he had are about to come into fulfillment as he is elevated into a place of authority in Egypt. Our journey of faith is sure to have some times when we don’t really understand what is happening, but the life of Joseph can be a source of encouragement as we learn that Yahweh always has a plan. He had a good expected end for Joseph, a prophetic destiny, that would save his entire family as the future nation of Israel.

We read in Psalms how Yahweh’s faithfulness to his covenant promises to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob is why he sent Joseph ahead to Eygypt and allowed his prophetic dreams to test his heart until his time of fulfillment came.
Psalm 105:19 “Til what he foretold came to pass, till the word of the Lord proved him true” NIV
