    Stories from the Classroom

    Stories from the Classroom

Today’s episode is all about my former students. The very first class I taught 10 years ago in Thailand just graduated high school, so I was inspired to reflect on my years in the classroom. I share my favorite funny stories and talk about how much joy I experienced in the classroom.

I also talk about difficult events that affected my first class in Mexico, like the death of a student, femicide, and co-vid. I share the struggles and frustration I had during Co-vid, which eventually led to my resignation.

I was always impressed by my students’ bravery and they way they gracefully navigated difficult times and conversations. Remembering my time in the classroom gives me hope for the future of the world.

    21. Interview With World Schooler And Nomad Publisher, Sara Tyler

    21. Interview With World Schooler And Nomad Publisher, Sara Tyler

In this episode I talk to world schooler and nomad publisher, Sara Tyler. Sara has been living abroad since 2010 and, in 2021, she started her own publishing house, Nomad Publishing, which has so far launched four best-selling travel books. She provides publishing services for aspiring travel authors and is also launching a program to help burnt-out teachers become book publishers. She wants to share the message that it is never too late to travel and that, even after kids, you can have meaningful and life-changing experiences. And she would know – she’s given birth to and raised her children abroad, all while living this wonderful digital nomad lifestyle.

We discuss a wide range of topics including world schooling, safety concerns when travelling, writing and publishing, solo female travel, travelling with kids, moving to Mexico, her magical movie moment overlooking the Panama Canal, and the perils of having to figure out toilets in different countries!
