What does it mean for Jesus to be "The Life" to us?

"The Way, the Truth, the Life" presented by Doyle Carter

The whole gospel boils down to this truth. Because our sins have separated us from God, we need a “mediator” to bring us back to God. Because the “sin gap” is eternally wide, we need someone from heaven who is himself eternal to bridge the gap for us. Jesus is the only one who could bridge that gap. By his death, he paid for our sins & bridged the gap that separates us from God. By his resurrection, he proved he is the Son of God. So we say & believe that no other mediator is necessary & no other mediator is possible.

Considering the incredible claims of Jesus the He and He alone is the Way, the Truth and the Life, from John 14 v 1-7

In John 14:1-14, Jesus told his disciples what to do when he was gone. “Do not let your hearts be troubled. Believe in God, believe also in me…you know the way to the place where I am going…” Thomas said they didn’t know where Jesus was going, and Jesus said, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life…” Jesus didn’t tell them where they were going, he simply said, “follow me.” The way of Jesus is the way of faith in God, love of God and people, forgiveness, service, reconciliation, and resurrection. How we arrive at our goals is more important than achieving them. Our goals should be held lightly, our future plans left somewhat open to allow us first to follow the way of Jesus, not always knowing exactly where that will lead.
