The Rise and Fall of Funny

What’s your go-to funny movie line that you love to quote?

    So you’re telling me there’s a chance?
    Dear Lord, Baby Jesus.
Brothers don’t shake hands. Brothers gotta hug!

In this episode, Dylan and Alek talk about what makes a great comedy, and the movies that have supplied them with endless belly laughs.

They’ll also talk about how seeing comedies in theaters seems to be a thing of the past. Are comedy movies a dying breed?

Setting Your Goals High, and Stopping Till You Get There with Marc Sheffler.

Marc Sheffler used to work as a stage actor for off-Broadway theater. His only film role is of the teenage Junior Stillo in the low-budget Last House on the Left (1972). Since then, Sheffler decided to pursue a career into television writing and production rather than acting.

His credits include episodes of "Sister, Sister", "Harry and the Hendersons", "Who's the Boss", and "Charles in Charge" to name but a few. He's also been involved with all kinds of pilots, made for TV movies, and television specials, including the failed "The Little Shop of Horrors" pilot, "The Happy Days Reunion Show" and "The Best of the Hollywood Palace" specials. He also worked with Mel Blanc, the voice of Warner Bros. cartoons, as the writer of How Bugs Bunny Won The West (1978).

...about The Three Stooges (2012) with Daniel Passer

There was a new Three Stooges and it was FUNNY! This episode features an interview with comedian Daniel Passer.

Directed by The Farrelly Brothers. Starring Sean Hayes, Will Sasso, Chris Diamantopoulos, Sofia Vergara, Craig Bierko, Jennifer Hudson, Kate Middleton & Larry David.

How is the world wrong about this movie?

From Bryan: Everybody was so sure that this was gonna be some anti-funny, forced, why-is-this-being-made non-comedy. Stoogemaniacs are willing to accept Shemp and Curly Joe, so why can’t they be okay with three more new stooges? I am and I have a tattoo of Shemp on my body for crying out loud! This is a truly great slapstick comedy.
