Day 36: The Nature of the Trinity (2024)

Day 36: The Nature of the Trinity (2024)
Together, with Fr. Mike, we continue our exploration of the Church’s teachings on the nature of the Holy Trinity. We examine three main ideas. The first is the unity of the Trinity, that the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are all one God. The next is the Divine Persons as distinct from one another: one God, three distinct persons. As Fr. Mike states, “The Son is not the Father, the Father is not the Son, and the Holy Spirit is not either.” Finally, Fr. Mike discusses the relation between each person of the Holy Trinity. Today’s readings are Catechism paragraphs 253-256. This episode has been found to be in conformity with the Catechism by the Institute on the Catechism, under the Subcommittee on the Catechism, USCCB. Day 32: The Most Holy Trinity (2024)

Day 32: The Most Holy Trinity (2024)
Christians are baptized “in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,” not the “names” of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. The Catechism explains this distinction by introducing us to the “central mystery of Christian faith and life”: the Trinity. Fr. Mike slows us down to meditate on what God reveals to us concerning his inner life, the very thing that “many prophets and righteous people longed to see… [and] hear.” Today’s readings are Catechism paragraphs 232-237. The Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity: Father Eseke

The Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity: Father Eseke

(June 3, 2023) Father Anthony Eseke, priest-in-residence at Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton parish, delivered his homily about the mystery and essence of the Most Holy Trinity. Our human mind and human language are limited in our attempts to fully understand this concept. The Bible reveals the very nature and essence of God, giving  us a foretaste of Heaven and asking of us to be active participants in our communion with the Most Holy Trinity.

Day 32: The Most Holy Trinity

Day 32: The Most Holy Trinity
Christians are baptized “in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,” not the “names” of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. The Catechism explains this distinction by introducing us to the “central mystery of Christian faith and life”: the Trinity. Fr. Mike slows us down to meditate on what God reveals to us concerning his inner life, the very thing that “many prophets and righteous people longed to see… [and] hear.” Today’s reading is CCC 232-237. The Trinity

    The Trinity

Season 3 kicks off where we will be discussing difficult doctrines. Maybe one of the first that comes to mind for many of us is the Trinity. Protestants know the Trinity to be true, but many cannot explain it biblically. So what is the Trinity, why does it matter, and how do we explain it? More importantly, does the Bible even teach it?
