    Many real estate agents have tried their own video show or podcast, but it "didn't work" for them. In the 3 months they released weekly videos, they didn't reach the level of success or grow their audience as big as they expected they would. So naturally, they threw in the towel.

    Then there's Ryan Hills, host of REsource.TV. He's been consistently doing his show every single week for TEN YEARS. Yeah, a decade. REsource TV has been publishing new episodes consistently for a freakin' decade. Over that time, he's wanted to quit. Many times. Like, MANY times. But he didn't. He just kept going, show after show, improving incrementally each time.

    Anyone who sees the REsource TV show come across their news feed today can see the incredibly well done, well produced videos that they do. But it took years and years of doing "less than awesome" videos to learn how to make a good one.

    This week, Ryan Hills is telling the story of what he's learned over these last 10 years of doing his video show, the struggles and headwinds he had to overcome, how he stayed consistent even when wanting to quit, and exactly what type of video equipment that you need to launch a video show of your own.

    This is the last episode of the Massive Agent Podcast of 2019, and of the whole decade. What better way to end the decade than to point out all the ridiculous shit that real estate agents, mortgage loan officers, and marketers have done over these last 10 years. This week, we're recapping the worst real estate marketing tactics of the decade.

    The real estate industry, and our society as a whole, has changed dramatically in the last 10 years. I wasn't even a Realtor yet at the beginning of the decade. I wouldn't get my real estate license until Jan 2011.

    Just a short 10 years ago, social media was nothing like what it is today. Hell, the internet was nothing like what it is today. Social networks have come and gone (Google+, Vero, Beme, MySpace, and Vine to name a few) while others have come to literally dominate the way that humans communicate today.

    During this time, Realtors have made attempts to get in front of more people so they could ultimately sell more homes. Some of those efforts were successful, and some failed miserably.

    Some of the worst real estate marketing tactics of the decade involve coming in for an immediate ask, the moment you meet someone or connect with them online. This can be asking them to "Like" your Facebook Page three seconds after they accept your friend request, or sending them some automated message asking them to "check out" your website or some other self-serving request.

    As you listen to this week's show, you're bound to cringe more than once; both because you've had this crap done to you, and because you've likely done some of this stuff too. I know I have.

    If you say the wrong things, or say them the wrong way, you'll never attract as many buyers and sellers as you should be. On this week's episode, you'll learn what to never say in your marketing to potential clients.

    Potential clients are judging us, in every way possible. As they should! They're always sizing us up to find out if they want to hire us as their real estate agent. Do we know what we're doing? Are we good at what we do? Will we be tolerable to spend the next month or more with? Can they trust us?

    But if we want to be credible and trustworthy in the eyes of a potential client, then some things just cannot be said. This includes every single time they see a Realtor's posts, advertisements, emails, etc. Getting the messaging right, and keeping your credibility is key for any Realtor looking to build a long lasting local brand that consumers can trust.

    This week we talk to Sean Mitchell aka the Tesla Realtor, a real estate agent in Denver who is doing just that, and turning their love for Tesla and electric vehicles into closed real estate transactions. As a relatively new real estate agent, Sean has successfully leveraged his Tesla hobby, and the network of people he’s met through that, into a database of like-minded people who then reach out for help buying or selling homes.

    Sean is quickly becoming known as the Tesla Realtor both in Denver, and online. In Denver, Sean is the President of the Denver Tesla Club and has grown the membership from 75 to nearly 1,000 in a couple short years. Online, Sean has built one of the fastest growing EV-related YouTube channels and brands out there. Since recording and publishing his very first Tesla YouTube video in 2017, he’s now exploded to 25,000 subscribers… up 250% in just the last 6 months!

    Not only will you learn some great tips on leveraging your hobbies and passions to help you sell more homes, but he also shares some great YouTube tips and strategies.
