Pride, Pronouns, & People God Loves

Pride, Pronouns, & People God Loves

In this episode, we focus on the challenging topic of sexuality in our culture today.

We examine the historical context, including the collision between the LGBTQ+ movement and the church in the 1980s, and the subsequent struggles faced by believers in reconciling their biblical beliefs with love and compassion for others.

Moreover, we address the current challenges, such as open hostility towards Christianity within certain factions of the pride movement and employment pressures related to pride month.

Our aim is to provide guidance and foster understanding as we navigate the complexities of sexuality. We encourage thoughtful conversations that uphold both truth and empathy, helping believers stand firm in their convictions while extending love and grace to those with differing perspectives.

Tune in as we strive to speak prophetically into our changing culture, remaining rooted in biblical truth while embracing the call to love.

Let's Talk About... die Frankfurter Pioniere

Let's Talk About... die Frankfurter Pioniere

246 - Dinner with my guitar hero and NAMM craziness

246 - Dinner with my guitar hero and NAMM craziness

NAMM is behind us but Brian and Blake share some of their amazing stories from an extraordinary show on this epic episode of Chasing Tone. (Oops, dropped my thesaurus)

Brian and Blake came home with new axes. Blake picked up an Equitz Rayburn guitar, and Brian got his hands on a Friedman Tele with a B bender. They talk about the new acquisitions.

Pick ups can make a world of difference in the tone of a guitar. Brian put some new Vaughn Skow pick ups in his PRS. He talks about the difference they made

Most times Brian comes back from NAMM happy to avoid NAMMthrax (If he did) and in need of some Exederin(tm) and rest. But this NAMM re-energized Brian and his love of music. He talks about it.

Steve Vai in the Wampler booth, Paul Gilbert crashes a video Brian was involved in, and the convention center wants to cater your pizza party, just one problem. It’s all in this edition of the Chasing Tone Podcast.

234 - Gear that got away

234 - Gear that got away

It’s Brian. It’s Blake. It has got to be Chasing Tone.

We all have that piece of gear that somehow slipped through our fingers. Brian and Blake look back at gear that they lost in some way and some that they have been able to get back.

There are some pieces of gear that many say they just cannot “bond” with. Relationship with your axe is important in chasing your tone. Brian and Blake talk about it.

Brian had bad room mates, a 60 Cycle Hum surprise, and an award winning motion picture about a luthier? It’s all in this weeks Chasing Tone podcast.

    213 - Guitar Shows...are they worth it?

    213 - Guitar Shows...are they worth it?
NAMM, huh, yeah, what is it good for…hold up. Before you go to the next line the answer is more of a “depends”. What is the biggest bang for your company may be a totally different experience for another. Brian and Blake talk about the pros and cons to attending the “big show”

And you may have heard the term “influencer” bantered about in the marketing world. Some of you may be asking, “What does that mean?” The guys have an explanation.

All on this week’s Chasing Tone Podcast.

176 - The Doctor, new JHS collaboration, and making Humbuckers better
Travis calls in and catches up with Brian on what he is up to lately.

The Doctor is in and Brian and Travis talk about it’s origins and when Travis plans to order his.

Travis is putting down the Strat picking up his Les Paul and playing some 90’s covers. He talks about how he got better tone out of his Humbuckers.

Impulse response is becoming a thing, just don’t tell Travis. He still writes and records the old fashioned way. Oh, and get off his lawn.

And JHS is collaborating with a big name company. Brian talks about the implications.

Playing with Doug Henthorn, CB talk, lunch plans, touring life, fist shaking at Wal-Mart and “Have you tried Bacon?” All crammed into this weeks Chasing Tone
