Life Altering Events by Frank Zaccari.

Everyone has those AHA moments or events that change our lives for better or worse. These life altering events occur in every aspect of our professional and personal lives.
Try as we may, it is impossible to completely separate the events in our personal life from our professional life. Believe me, I tried and failed miserably.

Life altering events present us with opportunities to seize the moment and make difference in our own life and the lives of our loved ones. They also can be a fork in the road where we can fall apart or pick up the pieces and start moving forward toward better times and better people. It is never too late to have the life you want and deserve. Let’s talk about it.

Support Beyond the Battlefield: Healing Military Families with Tom Satterly & Jen Satterly (Part 2)

Jen Satterly, an award-winning filmmaker and photographer with 15 years of experience, served as the Director of Film and Photography for an elite Special Operations training company, embedded with Navy SEALs, Green Berets, and Army Rangers. Passionate about supporting warriors and their families, she transitioned to become a certified health and wellness coach, co-founding the All Secure Foundation with her husband, Tom. This 501(c)3 non-profit organization helps Special Operations warriors and their families heal from the trauma of war, earning recognition as a top-rated non-profit. Tom Satterly, a highly decorated combat veteran with 25 years of Army service, including 20 in Delta Force, led critical missions and fought in the Oscar-winning film "Black Hawk Down." Despite his military success, Tom faced post-traumatic stress and suicidal thoughts, leading to his advocacy for mental health. As co-CEO of All Secure Foundation, he and Jenn work to support combat families, and his best-selling book, "All Secure," chronicles his battles on the battlefield and homefront.

In this episode of Behind The Seen, Jen, Tom, Dean, and Alana discuss the profound impact of All Secure Foundation, an organization providing comprehensive support beyond the warfighter to spouses and families of military personnel. Highlighting the challenges faced by spouses and children dealing with secondary PTS, the conversation delves into the urgent need for broader support systems and education. The guests share their experiences, addressing gaps in the current mental health care system and advocating for effective coaching, education, and treatment for families dealing with post-traumatic stress.

In fact, he says he submitted about 400 applications and received no responses. Zero. Home Depot was at the top of his most wanted list and he sent some 40 applications to positions there and had the same result: No call backs. No interviews. And no job offers. Still, he preserved, and he obviously is working for Home Depot today. On this podcast he explains what the experience taught him, how he finally landed a job, and shares advice he has for veterans seeking jobs in business. While she did find work as a DoD contractor running programs for veterans in transition, the contract nature of the work meant her employment was subject to budget constraints. Despite three promotions, when she was laid off for the second time, she decided to become an entrepreneur out of necessity and started a staffing agency. She started out writing resumes for transitioning Soldiers, but then with her personal and professional experience, realized a better niche was helping military spouses. Today, she’s helped thousands of military spouses find jobs and careers and she shares what she’s learned in this episode.
