In this Bible Story, Jehu is used by God to rid Israel of evil. He kills Jezebel and all the remnants of king Ahab. He also toppls the temples of Baal along with all its followers. Episode 139: Jehoshaphat, in an attempt to broker peace between him and Israel, betrothed his son Joram to Ahab’s daughter Athaliah. But because the wicked and idolatrous nature of her parents was in her, both Jehoram and the nation of Judah would be led astray. And as he, his kingdom, and his sons passed away; his wife Athaliah plotted. Determined to stay in power, she killed all of her grandchildren so that the line of David could not stand in her way. But God would not let her evil stand in the way of His promise. Jehosheba, Athaliah’s daughter, hid away one of Ahaziah’s sons in the temple to be raised by the priests and taken care of until he could become king!

Trust is an interesting thing...it can take years to build, and just a moment to lose. So what happens when trust has been breached? How does one respond? And is it possible for someone, through their response, to demonstrate that they are worthy of being trusted?

The term "Christian" has more definitions than the number of championships the Green Bay Packers have won. The confusion is understandable. But if there's one topic that needs crystal-clear clarity, it's this. 

There are three statements, three attitudes, three heart postures we need to be true of us, if we’re going to have the assurance we are genuine Christians:
1) "There's something wrong with me."
2) "I can't fix this... but I know who can."
3) "I'm not the same."

I. The readiness of Jesus to help the desperate, vv18-19. II. The tenderness of Jesus as he helps the desperate, vv20-22. III. The ability of Jesus to raise the dead, vv23-26.

“Fathers, do not provoke your children, lest they become discouraged.” I. Don't start your parenting here in v21, but by believing the Gospel and trusting Jesus. II. Don't start your parenting in v20 concerning obedience, but in vv12-17 with love. III. Do parent in light of v20 "obedience pleases the Lord." Does it please parents? IV. The importance of Father's to God. V. Ways we might exasperate our children to the point of losing heart.

Julia shares her experience, thoughts, knowledge, and personal life lessons learned on how to live with anxiety, and finding a way to cope, finding Jesus and trusting in the Lord to be there for her. 

Julia's personal story is so much like many of us, that struggle with anxiety and are looking for ways to cope with it on a daily basis. Anxiety can be such a debilitating mental health condition, and findings ways to live with it, is extremely important.
