When you walk into TXST's Recreation Center, you're immediately greeted by one of the tallest indoor rock walls in Texas. Not only are TXST's students climbing new heights, but so is San Marcos. Giselle sat down with TXST's Rock Climbing president to chat about the sport, what it's like to do it outdoors, and everything that makes it so addicting. 

The TXST physics program has given students the chance to run a Space Lab, and with it, build the first ever manufactured satellite at TXST. Giselle chats with grad student Evan Jellison and senior Matthew Johnson about the Space Lab, physics, building the satellite, and why space is for everyone. 

Ben Reed is a creative writing and literature professor at TXST who has had an interesting career path, from oil rigs to catering, then grad school to now. He sits down with Adrianna to talk about his creative process, his unconventional college career, and why he chose writing as his "thing" in the first place. 

The TXST Trap and Skeet club meets on Fridays out at Freeman Ranch to practice their aim, shoot some clays, and hang out. Safety Officer Hunter Haug and club Secretary Taylor Swanson discuss the intricacies and the simple fun of trap and skeet with Giselle, how to stay focused and calm while holding a gun, and what makes the club feel like a second family. 

Originally from Canada and making waves in the Esports industry, professor Ali Forbes is a force to be reckoned with. A former college basketball athlete, Forbes is the definition of a go-getter. She sits down with AnaBelle to talk about hunger, drive, hustle, and working hard to get what you want. 

On Alkek Library's first floor you can find a whole world of tech and information completely open to TXST students, staff, and faculty. Andrew Rechnitz and Tyler Davis sit down with Giselle for a conversation about the resources, opportunities, and skills Bobcats can access with Alkek One. 

Dr. Nicole Wagner has grown up with an appreciation for nature, whether it be the grass in her backyard or the animals that she came to meet. Assistant professor in the Department of Agricultural Sciences at TXST, Dr. Wagner talks to Adrianna about following her passion, what agriculture and nature have taught her about the ways of life, and her journey to getting her Ph.D. 

Jason Reed takes the mundane Texas lifestyle and makes it a work of art. A photography professor at TXST and a fellow at the Center for the Study of the Southwest, Reed has been photographing and learning from his home state ever since he can remember. He sits down with Adrianna to talk about his student experience, what advice he has for those in the early stages of their career, and some of the memorable moments he has had as a photographer. 

From the hallways of Old Main to the showers of Sterry Hall, Texas State is no stranger to ghosts and spirits living on campus. Giselle takes us on a journey and meets with TXST staff and faculty who have had some spooky encounters in their time on campus. Listen if you dare. 

A San Antonio native, Shannon Faseler has always known she had something to share with the masses. An art and painting professor who studied biology and pre-med, Faseler has had a whirlwind of experiences in her career journey. Adrianna chats with Faseler about her life and inspriation as an artist and making your mark on the student experience.

The academic cocktail of singing lessons, language learning, acting, history of European performance, and stage production is what the TXST Opera program is built on. Director Marc Reynolds and student Mikayla Wallis shine a light on the beauty and depth of the age-old form of entertainment that still remains a flourishing art here at TXST.

The TXST eSports team has won championships, hosted intercollegiate competitions, and put together weekly showdowns of some of the most played games in the industry. President Enrique de la Torre and Super Smash Bros. captain Ray Rodriguez chat with Giselle about the ins and outs of the sport, the mental strategy it takes, and the kind of community it has built on TXST's campus. 

Raised in The Valley, Eddie Sanchez is a writer whose start came in the form of hiphop inspiration and being given the task of completing his older brother's writing  homework. He now works for Texas State's University Marketing's team of writers and teaches a US 1100 class. 

Fencing is one of the oldest sports in history, dating back to kings and queens and duels that have lasted in our collective consciousness for years. The TXST Fencing club is also the longest standing sports club at TXST, which is what Tim Grimshaw and Paul Schimelman explain to us as they describe their graceful and lethal sport.

Psychology senior lecturer Dr. Amy Meeks was a shy, quiet child, who now teaches to about 400 students at TXST. Coming from a small liberal arts college and taking that leap to graduate school in psychology, she chats with Adrianna about how people have become her number one learning resource and motivation.

From freshman year to changing your major more times than you want to admit, finding your people, and late nights at Sewell Park. That's the college experience at TXST. Giselle sits down with four TXST graduates and looks back on the years leading up to the moment that every college student pushes for. 

Dr. Carlos Moro is an assistant professor in the TXST Concrete Industry Management program. Hailing from Spain and getting his Ph.D. from Purdue University, Dr. Moro has had a unique path to TXST.
