    Erin Blanchfield, UFC Paris recap

    Erin Blanchfield, UFC Paris recap

Back from a week-long vacation, Jim Norton reunites with his good friend Matt Serra for a fun episode of UFC Unfiltered featuring women’s flyweight contender Erin Blanchfield!

An excited Matt Serra starts off the show by bringing Jim up to speed on all the things the comedian missed while out of town. The conversation then shifts to a recap of UFC Fight Night: Gane vs. Spivac, where Matt and Jim start at the top of the card with their takeaways from Ciryl Gane’s TKO win over Serghei Spivac in front of his hometown fans in Paris.

Jim and Matt then explore whether the outcome of Saturday’s co-main event would’ve differed if Rose Namajunas hadn’t injured her finger against Manon Fiorot in the first round of their women’s flyweight co-main event.

That same conversation about the women’s 125-pound division continues when the guys are joined by second-ranked women’s flyweight Erin Blanchfield, who breaks down Fiorot’s performance against Namajunas before ultimately stating her own case to fight the winner of this month’s highly anticipated rematch between women’s flyweight champion Alexa Grasso and former long-reigning champion Valentina Shevchenko.

Caolan Loughran wants ALL THE SMOKE at UFC Paris

Caolan Loughran wants ALL THE SMOKE at UFC Paris

When Caolan Loughran joined The Craic earlier this week, he had no idea his original opponent Yanis Ghemmouri would withdraw from their bantamweight clash only to replaced by one of the most experienced fighters in France, Taylor Lapilus.

That said, the former Cage Warriors bantamweight champion is brimming with confidence as he took aim at all things French MMA, Sean O’Malley and Chito Vera. Could his debut at UFC Paris be the first step to him becoming the new frontrunner in Irish MMA? “The Don” certainly thinks so.

Loughran also discusses advice he’s been given from legendary U.K. coach Colin Heron, why he thinks French MMA is inferior and how exciting it is to be in a division that’s championed by O’Malley.

Caolán Loughran, actor Louis Mandylor, UFC Paris preview w/ guest co-host Phoenix Carnevale

With Jim Norton out for the day, friend of the show Phoenix Carnevale reprises her role as a guest co-host alongside Matt Serra for an episode of UFC Unfiltered that features two guest callers in bantamweight Caolán Loughran and actor Louis Mandylor.

Set to make his UFC debut on this Saturday's card in Paris, Loughran explains how a last minute switch of opponent hasn't changed his all-business mindset going into a fight in hostile territory against French veteran Taylor Lapilus. The unbeaten Irish bantamweight then goes on to explain why he believes he'll be the next UFC champion to come out of the Cage Warriors promotion.

Shortly thereafter, Matt and Phoenix are joined by actor and director Louis Mandylor; a former professional boxer in his own right. The Australian actor surprises the two co-hosts with his vast UFC knowledge and ultimately weighs in on Saturday's card with his opinion on how French heavyweight Ciryl Gane can overcome his grappling deficiencies against a Sambo specialist like Serghei Spivac in the main event.

Fresh off the mid-August release of his action film '3 Days In Malay', Louis wraps up his interview by sharing how serving as director of the film featuring Donald "Cowboy" Cerrone and Quinton "Rampage" Jackson sparked two newfound friendships with the retired UFC fighters.

Finally, Matt and Phoenix wrap up the show by looking at some of the fights on Saturday's card!

With the first UFC event of the new year upon us, today’s episode of UFC Unfiltered features interviews with two intriguing fighters from Saturday’s main card in bantamweight Umar Nurmagomedov and headliner Nassourdine Imavov.

Set to face Raoni Barcelos in his fourth UFC fight, Umar shares why he thinks the Brazilian veteran is his toughest fight thus far. UFC Paris and UFC 279: Bonjour. We're back

UFC Paris and UFC 279: Bonjour. We're back

Hey you guys, we're back from vacation. Successfully utilizing C- highschool level french to negotiate the mean streets of Paris, we got to bear witness to a pretty dope first-ever UFC card in France.
We discuss that and the madness that was UFC 279 that literally everyone else has been discussing for days and sure you're probably genuinely sick of hearing about it but here's some more opinions that you can feel free to ignore.

    Also:
    - Adam displays a fundamental lack of understanding about Chechnya's sociology and how to say 'Chechnya'
    - A potential market for a plus-sized woman's fight league
    - The unique appeal of undefeated wrestlers like Khamzat and Khabib within the MMA fanbase
    - A longform discussion about how Tweeting anything about popular fighters will predictably result in extended pile-on trolling from the above fanbase and how irritating it is
    - The strange tale of Danyelle Wolf
    - Batman villains

    ...and more!

If video is more your thing we got that up on our YouTube page.

    Au revoir
