This talk was given by the Reverends Jay Rinsen Weik Roshi and Karen Do’on Weik Sensei at the Buddhist Temple of Toledo on May 08, 2022. In this talk the Reverends celebrate Vesak - the Buddha’s Birthday by discussing the mother of all Buddhas and the importance of mothering our internal Buddha.

Clémence, Parisienne est notre correspondante au Sri Lanka. Avant de parler d'une jolie fête qui arrive fin mai (enfin si les conditions le permettent), Clémence nous parle justement de la 3éme vague de Covid-19 qui est en train de déferler. Quelques heures après l'interview, elle confirmait la mise en place d'un couvre-feu nocturne et tout le week end à partir de demain soir... ca sent le reconfinement :'

On parle de la pleine lune de Vesak. Chaque jour de pleine lune (appelé jour de Poya) corresponde à un jour clé dans la vie de Bouddha. Ces jours sont fériés au Sri Lanka et les traditions observées sont nombreuses. Vesak, c'est un des jours les plus importants car il représente l’anniversaire, l’illumination (l’atteinte du Nirvana) et la mort de Bouddha.
