    Jamal Murray

    Jamal Murray

It's season 5 and we poppin’ off with one of the stars from the Bubble: Mr. Jamal Murray. The pride of Kitchener, Canada, joins Knuckleheads with Quentin Richardson and Darius Miles to go over everything, including his jump to stardom. They start off with Canada, what it was like playing ball there, how hard it was to get attention from the big-time schools and why Jamal is so proud that Canadian players are finally getting respect. Then he talks about going to Kentucky and what it was like playing under Coach Cal for a year. It was one and done and on to the draft. Jamal reveals that he didn’t even work out for Denver and explains why he thought he could’ve been teamed up with Devin Booker in Phoenix. He then talks about his quiet-yet-effective start in the NBA, and what changed when he entered the Bubble this past summer. Then it’s to the moon — Jamal discusses dropping 50 points again and again and again, what it was like going back and forth against Donovan Mitchell, and why the Nuggets felt confident even when they were down 3–1 … twice! Lastly, you won’t want to miss Jamal ranking his greatest Canadian players and explaining why he still doesn’t own a car despite being in his fifth year in the league. A young superstar on the rise, Jamal Murray starts off Season 5 with a bang.

Henry Walker: Former K-State & NBA Player

Henry Walker: Former K-State & NBA Player

Some of you may remember him as “Bill” or “Billy”. We remember him for so many different reasons that we just had to reach out and hear his story from the man himself. Henry Walker is on the show today and you probably just got chills reading this if you are familiar with his High School, AAU or College days. Don’t get it twisted though, he had success at all levels and panned out a great career in the NBA and overseas. Don’t worry, we learn all about that too.

Walker took High School basketball by storm with his teammate OJ Mayo. The Top 10 recruit went on to win back-to-back State Titles in the state of Ohio and damn near broke the internet on multiple occasions with his electrifying dunks. Walker went on to play at Kansas State where he, Jacob Pullen, and Michael Beasley made a lot of noise. Henry was selected 47th overall in the 2008 NBA Draft. Walker played 5 seasons in the NBA and carved out a great career overseas, even after multiple knee injuries.

The resilience of Walker is something everyone needs to hear about. His ability to keep moving forward and make the adjustments to his game to keep competing, regardless of the obstacles he faced is something that we truly admire. But what may impress us most is all that he is doing for his community and the youth. Whether you remember him as Bill, Billy, Henry, or even just a great basketball player, we will always just remember him as a great person and we can’t thank him enough for sharing his story and his knowledge of the game.

    Thank you Henry!

016: What Are You Afraid Of? (Part 6) - The Fear of Forgiveness

016: What Are You Afraid Of? (Part 6) - The Fear of Forgiveness

In this episode of The Heart of Leadership Podcast, Andrew continues the series on fear by focusing on a fear that is hard for so many of us - the fear of forgiveness. Whether it is forgiving others, forgiving ourselves or even receiving forgiveness, we have a fear of forgiveness. We don't want to let people off the hook. We don't want to say what they did was okay. When it comes to ourselves, we don't feel worthy to receive forgiveness for a  terrible mistake we made.

In this journey of becoming the best version of ourselves, we need to face our fear of forgiveness. Forgiving someone doesn't mean what they did was okay. It doesn't mean it didn't happen. But it does mean that you are choosing to no longer live in that anger, bitterness and fear any longer. It's time for you to take control over the situation. It's time to take the first step towards forgiveness. We can't move forward unless we take the first step.
