Episode 107- Monstrous Music and Battle Hymns

Music and Horror are kindred spirits. And many of us love it when music and horror meet in the shadows of our imaginations.

Join my guests, the hosts of the excellent DISCOVER THE HORROR PODCAST as we look at how we were attracted to the dark side of music, our influences, and how many different ways music express that darkness.

This is a joint podcast with my good friends from Discover the Horror and the music conversation, focusing on horror movie soundtracks, continues on their podcast. Listen here: https://bit.ly/3Biup3H

Less Than 12 Parsecs - The Fastest Star Wars Podcast In The Galaxy! - #0008 - 10 Questions with Allen Voivod

Less than 10 episodes into this project, and I am starting to figure somethings out. For example, whenever I interview a guest, we will do a two minute "serious" interview (however serious a two minute interview can be!), followed by a second episode where we do 10 stoopid questions, with only 10 second to answer.

So yesterday was Allen Voivod's "serious interview", and now it's time for the 10 stoopid questions! Please forgive the sound quality. We were in a busy restraint, and I was too close to the microphone. Like I said, less than 10 episodes so far, so I'm still learning! Thanks for bearing with me!

Less Than 12 Parsecs - The Fastest Star Wars Podcast In The Galaxy! - #0007 - Podcaster Spotlight: Allen Voivod from Star Wars 7x7

This past week I was lucky enough to sit down with one of my favorite Star Wars podcasters, and a good friend, Allen Voivod from Star Wars 7x7. After we had a great lunch, I made him sit down for a two minute interview. And then, of course, he had to answer my 10 stoopid questions, with only 10 seconds to answer. (Look for that episode later today!)

With the closing of another month, that means it's time for The Expanded Comicverse, our show where we like to recap, review and chat about all the newest Star Wars comics from Marvel Comics.

This month we talk about the five titles that hit the shelves in July with Catrina Dennis.  Catrina hosts her own podcast about Star Wars comics called The Mos Eisley Comic Port Podcast (as well as having many other cool online projects!).  Be sure to check it out!

This month we continue our discussion about Boba Fett, and ask once again, is he the galaxies greatest bounty hunter, or just a guy who got lucky on one job.  We also compare Obi-Wan Kenobi to Bat-Man, and try to guess the fate of Janus Kasmir, friend of Kanan Jarrus.  Also, we discuss the hobbies of Emperor Palpatine, and Allen and I try to prove ourselves to the gentlemen.

Just a note, Skype was not cooperating with us when we recorded.  So, you willfind a few passages with a bit of static or something that sounds like wind.  Our apologize for the issue, but please note that these moments do not last long.  Thank you.

Another month comes to a close, and that means it's time for The Expanded Comicverse, our monthly show were we recap, review and go into just a little bit too much detail about all the new Star Wars comic books from Marvel Comics.

This month, Allen and I and joined by Matt Moore, half of the team behind the great new Star Wars comics themed podcast, "Comics with Kenobi".

This time around we ask if Boba Fett isn't the bad-ass we all think he is when we discuss Star Wars #6, we wonder if a father and son can bond through anger when talking about Darth Vader #6, we skirt the line of bad taste (and maybe cross it) when discussing the social issues presenting in Princes Leia #4, and then we try to anticipate whats next for Kanan, when we dive into the third issue of his series.

This month was a lot of fun.  We hope you have a listen, even if you're not reading the current batch of Star Wars comics.  Much of our conversation is about Star Wars themes and characters in general, not just what happens within the pages of these funny books!  Thanks!
