Don't Go in the House with Bryan

Don't Go in the House with Bryan

    Movie Meltdown - Episode 387

This week our host is reunited with Bryan Johnson from the podcast Tell 'Em Steve-Dave! as well as the AMC series Comic Book Men. Join us as we discuss recent and not-so-recent movie viewings, meeting people who used to have very interesting jobs in the business and eventually we round things out with this week's Sofa Theater feature the 1979 horror movie Don't Go in the House. Which just happened to be filmed right around the corner from where Bryan grew up. Memories and body burns ensue.

And as a couple of old guys reminisce about the way the world used to be back in the day, we also bring up... Ralph Macchio, Katrina Law, John Wick, when it came out on video, Jacques Cousteau, my son's on TV, Michael Rooker, a whole ensemble, shoveling stuff into a furnace, if you were on TV... it was a major major deal, Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer, taking a ferry to Ellis Island, a phone booth, Dan Grimaldi, hanging out at The Web, you are either from a different country or you're crazy, the florist in Atlantic Highlands, I'm a better assassin then  he is, raking his arms back and forth, he builds a room, it wakes my dad up, Aqua Net, Richard Fire, if your mom yelled at you in the 70's... you're going to hear whispering voices, that was it... that was my life man, just pour some bleach in his eyes, after someone does you a favor you're like... I'm going to inconvenience you further, we're a persecuted group, the entire front counter was nothing but handguns and what if Jimmy Fallon and Richard Ramirez had a baby?

Spoiler Alert: Full spoilers for Joseph Ellison's Don't Go in the House. So go watch the movie before you listen... you have been warned!

"...the next best thing was seeing things on TV that... you knew were around you. Because I didn't know anyone on TV - but I knew where that house was!"

    Bad Santa 2 (2016) - Movie Review - Episode 33

    Bad Santa 2 (2016) - Movie Review - Episode 33

This week, Brian, John, and Elaine begin decking their halls for the holiday season.  What better way to celebrate the warm and fuzzy feelings of Christmas than by diving into Bad Santa 2,  the brand new sequel to one of the most offensive, vulgar, and roll on the floor funny holiday films.  Billy Bob Thornton is back as dirty curmudgeon with a heart of gold in this sequel 13 years in the making.  So does the sequel hold up? Or does this film suffer from the usual retread and lackluster plot as other sequels based on "nostalgia" have in the past year.  So polish up your jingle bells and gulp down your egg nog, as we explore Bad Santa 2.

    The Distinguished Scoundrels: Episode 30

    The Distinguished Scoundrels: Episode 30

What happens when three comedians start a podcast with three different ideas of what the podcast should be... The distinguished scoundrels! Part free form interview, part love advice, and part improvised bits. You never know what to expect with the Distinguished Scoundrels.

In this episode of the Distinguished Scoundrels, the Scoundrels are reunited with the long lost Scoundrel Brent Lowrey. Dan has mysteriously disappeared and the only proper substitute for a Scoundrel is another Scoundrel.

Brent fills us in on what has been happening in his life and the abuse that he has suffered as a result of knowing regional slang terms. Colin is finally allowed back to The Comedy Palace and in triumphant fashion. Brian definitely crosses the line on stage and has to apoligize to someones mother on the show. We admit we are too poor for the Holidays.

The Strange Love of Nikola Tesla

The Strange Love of Nikola Tesla

It's said that during a lightning storm on the stroke of midnight between July 9th and 10th of 1856, in what is now present day Croatia, one of the greatest minds in history was born.

Nikola Tesla was the first man to harness the power of Niagra Falls to produce alternating current which started the electrification of the world,
he developed working neon and flourescent light bulbs 40 years before they became mainstream,
he lit the Chicago's World's Fair in 1893 via wireless power transmission, which is the basis of our 'wi fi' today.
He took the first x-ray picture,
discovered the earths Rotating Magnetic Field,
    invented the Tesla Coil,
    the radio,
multiple kinds of different electric motors,
    the first remote controlled vehicle,
    the worlds first laser,
he discovered that 8Hz is the same frequency that the human brain, the earth itself and all organic matter operates on,
he developed an "earth quake machine"  that would match any objects resonant frequency and once amplified,
that object could be literally shaken to pieces, which he tested one night in early 1912 in the Wall St. district of New York City. Tesla clamped this vibrator to one of the beams of a half erected steel building and after a few minor adjustments, Reporter A.L. Besnson says quote, " finally the structure began to creak and weave and the steel-workers came to the ground panic-stricken, believing that there had been an earthquake. Police were called out. Tesla put the vibrator in his pocket and went away. Ten minutes more and he could have laid the building in the street, and, with the same vibrator he could have dropped the Brooklyn Bridge into the East River in less than an hour."

And by the way, all accounts of this device state that it was no larger than an alarm clock.

He was a genius of such depth and vision that there has been no equal since.
PLUS, this BAD MOTHER FUCKER was DEEPLY and PASSIONATELY in love...
    with a pigeon...

    Vulgar Manor

    Vulgar Manor
The forces that be pulled out the craziest, loudest and most interesting individuals out of their community and brought them together to see what would happen. Now, what this force did not realize was that they would come together and become something that cannot be stopped. From that point on the world has not been the same. The ground trembles and the skies blacken when the noise of their instruments vibrate though the air. Ears bleed and eyes roll back into heads when people fall victim to Vulgar Manor's rath. Irrational as it may be, this is what people look for when coming to see VM.

    Hazard Talk - Episode 1

    Hazard Talk - Episode 1
On this show, our premiere episode, we talk about how happy we are to be done with school and how much school really sucks in our opinion. Also why politics are bullshit, some 18+ hilarious youtube videos (audio in here obviously). Plus much more on the show. Just a warning that this talk show is adult oriented and has language not suitable for minors. The subjects discussed on the show are expressed in our own opinions.
