    Two Hawaiian Restaurants Reviewed

    Two Hawaiian Restaurants Reviewed

In this episode of the Travel Fun and Adventure Podcast, we review two Hawaii Restaurants. This is our first time doing restaurant reviews on this podcast, so I hope you enjoy them. Please let us know what you think of it.

The first restaurant we review is the Tropics Bar and Grill at the Hilton Hawaii Village in Waikiki.

Like all our dealings with restaurant and hotel employees in Hawaii, the staff was friendly.

Food ordered Me: Kiawe Smoked St. Louis Pork Ribs, Pineapple Juice, and Chocolate Cake.
My wife: Wagyu Brisket, Passion-Orange-Guava, Carmel Sunday.

Good Points: the Spare Ribs were tender and juicy, the Fries were seasoned but not overdone, and the chocolate cake was well chocolate cake. sitting next to the beach.

Bad Points: the Brisket was a little too pink for my wife's taste, it took over 40 minutes for us to get our deserts,

    Final Grade: C

The 2nd restaurant is the On the Rocks in Kona on the Big Island.

Food ordered - My wife, daughter, and I all ordered Rock’s Classic Burger, plus we ordered Onion Rings, and I ordered Huggo’s Famous Seafood Chowder.

Good Points: All the food was excellent, location on the water and attention to detail.

Bad Points: Finding a parking space can be difficult.

    Final Grade: A

The On the Rocks made our list of the best places to eat on the Big Island, which was well deserved. The entire experience was excellent, with excellent staff and great food.

    Right Ghost, Wrong Man

    Right Ghost, Wrong Man

SCARED TO DEATH IS EXPLICIT IN EVERY WAY. PLEASE TAKE CARE WHILE LISTENING.

Dan had two really fun haunted house types of tales this week. He kicks it off with a haunting at The Moana Surfrider hotel in Waikiki. It would appear that a death that took places many, many years prior has resulted in a female ghost hanging around. When a male visitor stays at the hotel, it would seem she thinks he is someone else. Mistaken identity gone wrong! Then in his second tale, we encounter a new set of Darren's in the Lee Family Haunting. Lynze also has her usual two tales. A clown haunting that spans from childhood to adulthood and possible demonic attachment, but not how you'd think!

    Opening Sumerian protection spell (adapted):
"Whether thou art a ghost that hath come from the earth, or a phantom of night that hath no home… or one that lieth dead in the desert… or a ghost unburied… or a demon or a ghoul… Whatever thou be until thou art removed… thou shalt find here no water to drink… Thou shalt not stretch forth thy hand to our own… Into our house enter thou not. Through our fence, breakthrough thou not… we are protected though we may be frightened.  Our life you may not steal, though we may feel SCARED TO DEATH."

    The Watershed

    The Watershed

The most visited stretch of beach in Hawai’i should be underwater. Instead, it’s kept afloat by over thirty thousand tons  of sand-- sand that drifts out to sea every 5 to 10 years before it's replaced yet again. Before the Ala Wai canal drained the watershed, Waikiki sustained a native population of over a million, and fed and nurtured its diverse wildlife in a self-sustaining system. Today,  king tides are trying to reclaim Waikiki.

“This is not the end of civilization, but a return to one. Only the water insisting on what it should always have, spreading its liniment over infected wounds. Only the water rising above us, reteaching us wealth, and remembering its name.”

In this episode, we visit the man-made beach of Waikiki. Poet Brandy Nālani McDougall reads from her collection “The Salt-Wind, Ka Makani Paʻakai” and tells us of Hawai’i before the Ala Wai. Frankie Koethe, community outreach liaison for the Ko’olau Mountains Watershed Partnership, explains the intricacies of the Waikiki watershed and the dangers it faces in an era of urbanization.

S1 Ep. 3: Loving a Filipina & Her Culture with Kevin Perez

What qualities make a foreign man fall in love with a Filipina? Bel's husband, Kevin, grew up in Hawaii - where there is a large Filipino community - so he is no stranger to our culture. Life in Hawaii is still much different though than life in the Philippines, where Bel grew up with practices and values she strongly identifies. In this episode, he shares how he met Bel, what it was like to visit her in the Philippines, and what he loves about her and our culture.

Like us, you'll get to know our host better through the eyes of her better half; and you'll get to know what loving a Filipina is like through Kevin's own story.

149 - How To Take Action & STICK WITH IT - Plus, I'm Launching A NEW Facebook Group!

In this episode, I’m going to announce the launch of my new communication-focused Facebook group and give you a hint on what it’s all about. I’ll also dive into how to actually go and take action on the things that you know you need to be taking action on in your life in order to achieve your dreams. This is something that is a pain point for a lot of people because they can’t seem to get where it is that they want in order to start taking action towards achieving what they want most.

They are unable to be consistent on the one thing that is most critical or apply the things that they know they need to apply to get where they want to be. To help everyone out with that, I’ll share the 5 actionable steps on how to take action on something and stick with it. It’s gonna be an interesting episode, so don’t miss it.

    Key Points Discussed:

    • Putting out content that betters people’s lives and having fun while at it (01:55)
    • Flying into the reverse time zone: Hawaii to Australia (03:50)
    • Focusing on the things that can give us the most results for the least amount of effort and time (07:50)
    • Everything that we do involves communication (11:11)
    • A place to discuss ideas, communication, sales, business, and personal development (18:18)
    • Training from someone who is raved about by Russell Brunson and Myron Golden (27:17)
    • Letting go of the unknown and taking action (32:12)
    • Focusing on one thing and doing it in the necessary frequency (35:30)
    • The constant evolution of getting better and better (39:51)
    • The power of being able to communicate well (45:33)
