Cynthia Wagner, college planner: What You Need to Know to Get Into College!
Cynthia Wagner, college planner and owner of College Help Squad, provides valuable information to parents of students that are planning go to college. She explains how her business works to help find a college that is a match for a student’s chosen major, GPA, personal interests and financial situation. She also explains how COVID impacted so many colleges and universities and how those changes have affected the competitiveness for students being able to get into a specific college. Cynthia also explains why it is currently harder for students to get into colleges and universities within their own state than for students applying to those same schools that come from another state. Additionally, she also discusses the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) and the most recent changes to this form, how it is administered and how it will affect families - especially with regard to financial standing, which families would qualify for Federal Aid and which families will not as well as go over the cost-cutting strategy of having a student attend a community college before going to a four year college. This may be a great option for some, but others may want to consider a different route.
