When a skeptical college professor demands his wife stop practicing protective conjure magic, he opens himself up to be the victim of an opposing force in Burn, Witch, Burn (1962)! A young woman loses her parents in a deadly crash, moves in with her cousin, Linda Blair, and proceeds to ruin her life, in the Wes Craven TV movie, Summer of Fear (1978)! And then from there, the residents of a small town believe that three new arrivals are reincarnations of witches that invoked a 300-year-old curse in The Devonsville Terror (1983)!

Welcome back to another bone-chilling episode of Beer Before Fear! As we wind down Season 1 of the show, we're diving into what many (including Erik) believe is one of the greatest horror sequels of all time, "Scream 2" from 1997. This episode, Dan and Erik have a special treat: they're joined by Ben from The New Way podcast (check them out here), bringing an extra layer of insight into this iconic slasher flick.

Dan and Keith's Freddy/Jason deep dive continues as they move from Crystal Lake to Elm Street for the various dream-crimes of Freddy Kreuger. In part one, we look at how the original shaped the franchise Wes Craven never intended, how the second film is essentially the Super Mario Bros. 2 of horror, then debate whether the original or Dream Warriors is the best one and whether Dream Master is the last good time or the beginning of the slide into stupidity for Freddy. Grab your hypnocil, don't trust any small children, and whatever you do, don't fall asleep as Recovered heads to Elm Street.

It's a crossover episode, ladies and gentlemen!  So, you may or may not know this, but I host a SECOND podcast, called Beer Before Fear, where my buddy Erik and I review craft beer and horror movies.

This continuation of the "Scream" Franchise that started back in 1996 by Wes Craven, and keeps up its appearances with all the tropes this flock of films is known for.

It's time for one of those massive episodes. Well, it's a four parter anyways. 1986 was yet another massive year for horror movies. As well as containing those huge studio movies, exploitation cinema & indie horror was breaking through to little me, I could source all this thanks to the VHS rental shop. The underground was still rich at this point in time . But what do I think was the very greatest horror movie that came out during '86? Well, here we have the top 10. The worst 10. A slew of also rans. Some awesome mates. Some special guests. Several pints of beer and a 7+ hour running time split over 4 episodes. This is the 1986, A Year In Horror.
