#29. “Do You Take My Insurance?” What to Say If the Answer is No…

    Do you take my insurance?

If the answer is yes, that’s an easy question to handle. But if you don’t (or can’t) accept insurance reimbursement in your practice, you may not know quite how to handle it.

After you hear this episode, though, that will never be a problem for you again - because I’m going to teach you exactly what to do.

Annnnd - what NOT to do, too.

Remember this acronym: S.O.S., and then:

    • Stand in your value.
    • Own your offer.
    • And center on Service.

In our conversation today, you’ll learn more about what each of those really means, and you’ll hear several examples of EXACTLY what to say in a variety of scenarios.

    ALSO!

Did I mention that there’s a free download this time? See the link below to get your copy of a free script that will help you nail this question for good.

    Enjoy!

#20: Are You Imposing Your Personal Money Beliefs On Your Clients?

#20: Are You Imposing Your Personal Money Beliefs On Your Clients?

    I’ve got a question for you….

Is it possible, just for a moment, that you might be imposing your personal money beliefs…. on your clients?

I know you don’t think so - but it’s entirely possible that you are, and don’t even know it.

But we have to talk about this…about how we healers, even as compassionate, experienced and unusually self aware as we tend to be (!), might be imposing our OWN money beliefs - our fears, our limitations, and our values - on our clients.

Because if we are, we need to stop.

Yeah - this is a little tricky… and it’s possible that you don’t think this is a problem for you at all.

It’s also possible that you’ve never thought about this issue in quite this way before.

    In this episode, you’ll hear:

    •  The many subtle and seductive ways in which we impose our money stories and beliefs on our clients.
    • Why that’s a problem (beyond the obvious ethical considerations!)
    • Three steps you can take to figure out if this might be happening in your own practice (so you can turn it around, if it is).

When we act without awareness, and pass our own money story on to our clients, we disempower them in a way that we don’t mean to. And that’s why this is worth talking about.

    Give it a listen.

    ~Wendy

#17. Want to change lives? Change your own first. A Fascinating (and Fun) Interview with Janet Feld.

#17. Want to change lives? Change your own first. A Fascinating (and Fun) Interview with Janet Feld.

Today we’re doing something a little different.

Allow me to introduce you to Janet Feld, a professional musician, singer/songwriter, and a music teacher who lives in the Boston area.

Wondering why I’d have a musician on a show meant for healing arts professionals? Because we have more in common than you’d think. :)

    In this episode, you’ll hear:

    • How Janet made the transition from working 6 exhausting days a week to a healthy schedule that enabled her to start writing songs again, finish her first book, and get way more creative (and profitable) in her business.
    • How she once lost half her clients (!), and why she still saw that as a win.
    • How her love of travel and music blossomed into a whole new line of business that I never saw coming.

(The client story she shares at the end is pretty sweet too.)

I’ve seen Janet do some things in her business that were really creative, and a few that might sound a little crazy. But they weren’t. They were - in fact - incredibly brave.

I’ve witnessed her transformation from being exhausted, overworked, and seriously underpaid to being the CEO of a thriving 6 figure business - and that growth has been an inspiration to me.

Today, I’ve asked her to share her story with you.

    ~Wendy

#15. A Roadmap for Your Big Idea: How to Start a Private Practice for Cancer Survivors

#15. A Roadmap for Your Big Idea: How to Start a Private Practice for Cancer Survivors

Not long ago, someone in my private Facebook group asked: How do I start a private practice where I can serve those dealing with cancer?

And today, I’m sharing a deceptively simple answer to that BIG question.

Think of this as the roadmap for your Big Idea. It’s a step by step process I’ve used for years to turn courage into confidence, and do anything BIG I didn’t think I could do.

Starting a practice. Roaming overseas. Running for office. Creating a course. Giving a talk.

Every time a desire felt beyond me and I had no idea where to start, I’ve use this exact process to move through my own fear and into action. Today, I’m sharing the whole thing with you.

It’s a quick trip through a big concept, but the road map works.

    See what you think.

Maybe it’s time to take action on YOUR Big Idea.

    ~Wendy

#8. What Should I Charge? 3 NEW Ideas to Consider When Setting Your Rates.

#8. What Should I Charge? 3 NEW Ideas to Consider When Setting Your Rates.

Today we’re taking a look at pricing.

I want to talk about this because - based on my conversations with so many of you - there’s a good chance you might be selling yourself short in how you price your services.

And I get that! Setting your rates is EASILY one of the most stressful things about running a private practice. When I was starting out, I wrestled with questions like:

    • Where do I even start for figuring this out, for Pete’s sake?
    • What are other people, my colleagues, charging?
    • How could I possibly charge THAT much?

    And many more.

    Can you relate?

Pricing conversations bring up all KINDS of tricky issues for us.

But like anything else, we can get a handle on this when we learn how to think about it.

So if you’re unsure about your rates, today is a good day!
I look at this a little differently than most, and I’m going to help you. :)

A lot of business gurus will tell you to decide how much you want to make a year, and determine your rates from there.  Nothing wrong with that! In fact, I might say the exact same thing in another context.

But there’s really another side to pricing that I don’t think we talk about nearly enough - and that’s what we’re covering today.

    >>AND, to help you out,  I've got a GIFT for you....

I've created a little worksheet that will help you think through the questions I'm speaking to in this episode. Whenever I've shared this with my audience in the past they've told me this is EXTREMELY helpful, because it's such a different way of looking at things.

In fact, a lot of them end up raising their rates just because of what this exercise reveals.

So click HERE to grab your free worksheet, and listen to the episode.

    THEN DO THIS. 👇 👇 👇

    1. Download and print out that worksheet.

     2. Set your timer for just 15 minutes.

    3. As fast as you can, jot down every answer you can even begin to think of for each of the sections you’ll see there. Don’t over think it. Just WRITE.

    4. When the timer goes off, take a break, then come back, and read what you’ve written - out loud.

    5. Now think about your current rates. Do they accurately reflect all that juicy goodness you just wrote about? If so, yay! If not, what needs to change

Yep -  I’m interested in that part. :)

Really dive deep and listen to your intuition about where you are with your current fee structure. And if you need to make a change, let's do that. Soon.

    Own your authority, my friends.
Claim the value of what you do.

    Much love,
    ~Wendy

P.S. Again, click on the link below for your copy of the free download mentioned in this episode, a great tool to help you assess your pricing, and whether or not it accurately reflects the value of what you do.
