DAVID AFERIAT - Connection Between Wine, Food, and Quality of Life

David Aferiat is a passionate advocate for the wine industry, particularly in the realm of champagne. He understands the intricate differences between Prosecco, cava, and champagne, and the diplomatic and historical significance of owning the rights to these names.

He is well-versed in the categorization of champagne, from run of the mill to Grand Cru, and appreciates the dedication of the farmers and families who produce high-quality champagnes. David's knowledge and dedication to the industry have helped redefine the perception of sparkling wines and champagnes.

In this episode of After Hours Entrepreneur, host Mark Savant sits down with David Aferiat, the mastermind behind Avid Vines. They discuss the importance of celebrating life with high-quality, organic and sustainable wines and champagnes.

David shares valuable insights on the wine industry, the significance of building relationships with local farmers, and the need for a healthier approach to food and drink choices.

    Takeaways:
    1. Build relationships with local vendors.
    2. Elevate dining with wine and champagne pairings.
    3. Prioritize sustainable and organic choices.

Ep. 52: Master Sommelier Tim Gaiser On Tasting With All Five Senses

Ep. 52: Master Sommelier Tim Gaiser On Tasting With All Five Senses

In this episode of the Vint Podcast,  Brady and Billy interview Tim Gaiser, Master Sommelier, musician, and author of an upcoming book titled "Message in the Bottle: A Guide to Wine Tasting". Tim has extensive experience across many areas of the fine wine world, including previous roles as the Education Director for the Court of Master Sommeliers, Americas, and adjunct professor for the Rudd Center for Professional Wine Studies at the Culinary Institute of America at Greystone in Napa Valley. Aside from his passion for teaching about wine and wine tasting for quality, Tim is an accomplished musician and received an M.A. in Classical Music from the University of Michigan. We hope this episode will pull back the curtain on how wine professionals taste wine to assess quality, and some of the nitty-gritty on the philosophy of sensory experience and memory around wine tasting.

We'll release information about Tim and his upcoming book at the links below:

Wines To Find, Ep 149: Identify Your Priorities When Fitting Wine Into Your Lifestyle

Wines: Fresh Vine 2019 Pinot Noir & 2020 Cabernet Sauvignon

When considering what wines will fit into your lifestyle, it’s important to determine for yourself which factors are important to you. For some, world-view or food sourcing best practices are paramount, for others, dietary concerns or weight management are important to consider, for some, pricing and quality are primary.

In developing the concept of the Wine Taste Filter, we identified four different categories of the varying concerns most consumers have, which we are calling “mountains” and we understand each of these concerns isn’t for everyone, which is why we’re asking: which mountains are YOU willing to climb?

We want to help you identify your priorities when fitting wine into your lifestyle by giving you information and tools to decipher those crazy wine labels and marketing buzzwords to help you determine which wines fit those priorities.

Listen to hear us breakdown the categories and describe what factors fall under each. Keep following along on our "Fitting Wine Into YOUR Lifestyle" series to assist you to be more intentional in your wine selection and to make the most of your wine purchase power.
