Wines To Find, Ep 174: Wines We've Been Meaning To Try

Wines To Find, Ep 174: Wines We've Been Meaning To Try

Wines: Chateau Miraval  2021 and Chateau Dauzac Margaux 2019

As we are approaching our 200th episode - a reminder that each week,  we try two wines we've never had before - quick math, ep 174 means a minimum of 348 wines featured on Wines To Find so you would think it would be difficult to find wines or at the very least, easy to slot in wines we'd like to try.

Welp, the Miraval rosé has been on my  (Michelle's) list for quite some time and we're somehow just now getting to it. Hyped as an excellent example of Provencal Rosé and well accoladed - listen to hear what we thought of it.

And this Chateau Dauzac Margaux was a Costco find right when we were digging into Margaux, so it's been glaring out from the wine cooler at us for a while (and not just because of the super bright yellow label).

So many wines, so little time -- glad we were able to finally fit these two in!!

Wines To Find, Ep 149: Identify Your Priorities When Fitting Wine Into Your Lifestyle

Wines To Find, Ep 149: Identify Your Priorities When Fitting Wine Into Your Lifestyle

Wines: Fresh Vine 2019 Pinot Noir & 2020 Cabernet Sauvignon

When considering what wines will fit into your lifestyle, it’s important to determine for yourself which factors are important to you. For some, world-view or food sourcing best practices are paramount, for others, dietary concerns or weight management are important to consider, for some, pricing and quality are primary.

In developing the concept of the Wine Taste Filter, we identified four different categories of the varying concerns most consumers have, which we are calling “mountains” and we understand each of these concerns isn’t for everyone, which is why we’re asking: which mountains are YOU willing to climb?

We want to help you identify your priorities when fitting wine into your lifestyle by giving you information and tools to decipher those crazy wine labels and marketing buzzwords to help you determine which wines fit those priorities.

Listen to hear us breakdown the categories and describe what factors fall under each. Keep following along on our "Fitting Wine Into YOUR Lifestyle" series to assist you to be more intentional in your wine selection and to make the most of your wine purchase power.

Wines to Find, Ep 148: Fitting Wine Into YOUR Lifestyle

Wines to Find, Ep 148: Fitting Wine Into YOUR Lifestyle

Wines: Grand Sud Chardonnay and Our Daily Red

Wine is personal, subjective, romanticized and heavily marketed. Determining how to fit wine into your lifestyle should always start with your personal tastes and preferences. In the next six episodes we will discuss different lifestyle choices and changes many have made or choose to make for various reasons.

Our goal is to assist you in identifying not only wines that will fit your taste preferences but also other factors such as cost concerns, fitness and wellness goals, whether you support sustainability efforts and/or have concerns about how your food is grown and treated. Are low sugar wines something you're curious about? How about organic, biodynamic, or sustainably grown? We will taste and talk about these and more!

As we start, we revisit a couple wines each of enjoyed before our lifestyle and wine tastes changed as we grew with Wines To Find. Listen to see if they still "fit" us and explore the concept of applying your own Wine Taste Filter to your wine purchases.

Wines To Find, Ep 142: Building Wine Confidence Q&A

Wines To Find, Ep 142: Building Wine Confidence Q&A

Wines: 2021 The Blacksmith Barebones & a Jean Louis Grande Reserve Cote du Rhone

In this episode we share some Q&A's from one of our recent Wines To Finish Nights. As our listeners know, we typically Coravin the wines we feature on the podcast so that we can share them with others after we record. In keeping with our WTF abbreviation, we call these gatherings Wines To Finish tastings.

This particular gathering was of young wine drinkers - a group of seniors from the University of South Carolina, including Sandy's son, Alex. The group was varied in their exposure to wine but all had an interest in learning more and, as they're college-aged living the student life, many were concerned about budget/sourcing good wine at prices affordable for them.

Ever wondered what wine to drink to not get hungover or what wine to take when meeting your girl or boyfriends's parents for the first time? We share more of their questions, our answers and  the lively discussion we had ~ Listen & Enjoy!
