    18. 4 Simple Questions for Better 1-on-1 Meetings

    18. 4 Simple Questions for Better 1-on-1 Meetings
So, if you've worked anywhere for any amount of time, and most notably in corporate spaces, you are quite familiar with 1:1s (with your managers, peers, and even cross-functional team members).

I’ve managed teams of all sizes and have had a deep, and first-hand education on all things related 1:1's, both as a leader, a manager, and as a direct report.

Over time I’ve come to a few conclusions or have made what I would consider well-founded and thorough assessments on the anatomy of a “good/great" 1:1 experience, and what makes for a lackluster one.

This episode is filled with tangible actions and advice you can implement today!

    17. So, What Do You Want from This Year?

    17. So, What Do You Want from This Year?
We've all experienced a year where we were driven by the unknown. And though we each are still navigating those circumstances, we've thankfully learned a ton about ourselves, and may even see glimmers of "normalcy" on the horizon.  This episode is one that is all about perspiration and not inspiration. We are taking the time to dive deeply into a critical question: So, What Do You Want from This Year?

The foundation of this episode is 10 critical questions that we can ask ourselves right now (after all the "new year, new me" vibes are cooling off), and create a plan to chart the year ahead:

    1. What have I learned about myself over the last year?
    2. Which lesson was/is most important?
    3. What do I want out of this year?
    4. Why do I want this?
    5. What do I need (resources) to do this?
    6. What will my life look like once I’ve gotten what I want out of this year?
    7. What are the big obstacles I should be looking out for?
    8. How will I make time to nurture my wants?
    9. Who do I need support from to make this work?
    10. What are milestones that will keep me honest about progress?
