Corporate Mama Finding Freedom in the Online Business World as a Virtual Assistant, Online Business Manager and More

Join Ariel + Tianna as we sit down with Kristi to talk about what working from home looks like for her, how the Virtual Assistant world got her there and her journey along the way. Kristi came from a comfy corporate job and decided during her pregnancy that she needed a change. She stumbled on Laptop + Littles and the lightbulb went off. She knew the Virtual Assistant role would take her where she wanted to go and she was determined to get there before having to return from maternity leave.

Kristi shares what those initial months looked like fresh in the Virtual Assistant role, taking on her first clients, cutting back on clients when her season of life demanded it, the imposter syndrome that can creep in...and how to navigate it all.

We love Kristi's story and seeing her thrive in her career now that she has taken control of it. Something we believe any mom can do with the right support.

Mastering Your Unique Resilient Motherhood - Jessica Halvorsen

Mastering Your Unique Resilient Motherhood - Jessica Halvorsen

Tiffany and Jessica have a down-to-earth discussion on elevating motherhood through resilience. Enjoy this conversational interview with authentic insights and ideas for elevating your motherhood and raising resilient children.

    Meet Jessica Halvorsen,

My family is my world, and I realized quickly that fulfillment for me meant more than simply caring for them and the household todos.

Even though I have a degree in music (education) and accounting, a certificate in bridal consulting, have traveled to England, Wales, Ireland, and Scotland on a Trafalgar Tour (more destinations on my bucket list), what I fell in love most with was giving mom entrepreneurs a boost in confidence and their ability to manage ALL. THE. THINGS. Building something that supported other moms and made a positive difference in their lives kept calling to me.

When I began online as a virtual assistant, I simply wanted to help. I still want that — to help other moms. I do that in five ways:

Taking tasks off your plate to help alleviate the pressure and keep your business running while you chase your kids with Mom Elevated Virtual Assistant Services.

Providing a central, safe space for you to connect and commiserate with others while learning from guest experts with the Mom Elevated Society.

Giving you go at your own speed options to implement in your busy calendar as you see fit – all about reducing overwhelm and making your life easier with Mom Elevated Resources and Products.

Lifting spirits with fun, light-hearted, and true gear that you can surround yourself with and don as a reminder to smile and keep on keepin’ on with the Mom Elevated Merchandise Store.

Helping you do one of these: define your content pillars, set your priorities and schedule, decide what to delegate, organize by talking through systems, or break down a single piece of content into many to repurpose in an hour with a Mom Elevated Consult Call.

I have been a single mom, a work-out-of-the-home mom, a stay-at-home mom, and now a work-from-home mom. All have their own set of unique struggles, but one thing remains the same — we are trying our best and support helps.

Truly, I am here to uplift, elevate, and relate to others and their stories.

Struggles are easier when they’re shared, and that’s simply what I’m creating with my services and offerings — a way to help share your struggles so they’re not all only on your shoulders. Welcome! I’m an open book, so ask away — and like the Full (and Fuller) House’s door, my inbox is ALWAYS open. I invite your feedback and look forward to having you jump aboard and join me on my ride of learning, growing, and elevating! https://momelevated.com/

    29. Finding Balance & Joy as a Working Mom

    29. Finding Balance & Joy as a Working Mom

The Radiant Mission Podcast | Episode 29
    Host: Rebecca Twomey
    @theradiantmission
    Co-Host: Rachel Smith @rachelsmithsmith

Thank you for listening to The Radiant Mission podcast! We are on a mission to encourage and inspire you on your walk with Christ and as you journey through life.

In Episode 29 we discuss finding balance and joy as a working mom. Specifically, from a work-from-home perspective. We hope this episode brings your encouragement!

    In This Episode:

The Lord gives us all different gifts.

For a working mom, or a work-from-home mom, perseverance is often a trait that can keep us going.

Babysitting as a teenager can help hone the skills needed for balance as a mom or working mom later in life.

To be a working mom that also works from home, you have to be flexible.

Being obsessed with a schedule will leave you frustrated and disappointed when it doesn’t go to plan.

The first step to having a good experience as a working mom is choosing to work for a company that is the right company for you. (If applicable.)

Rebecca shares her “why” for not sending her kids to daycare or hiring a nanny.

God doesn’t give us what we want when we want it.

Some days will be hard. But if you want to be a working mom, it’s about finding the balance with work and with your kids.

Our life experiences help to shape us.

Children are a blessing from the Lord.

How can a working mom or work-from-home mom find joy?

Getting to be with our children, getting to experience the milestones, being the one that they turn to—it is an honor. It’s about perspective. We can choose to be angry or frustrated. Or, we can choose joy. When we choose to be grateful, we choose joy.

We only have little kids for a few years. It’s important to seek to find balance to spend with our children.

Find times to connect and have 1-1 time with your children. There are always ways to find ways to connect, even if it’s cooking!

Mindset is so important. We get to choose our mindset.

    Bible Verses Mentioned:

    James 1:2-4

Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles of any kind come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy. For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be perfect and complete, needing nothing.

    Hebrews 13:21

May he equip you with all you need for doing his will. May he produce in you, through the power of Jesus Christ, every good thing that is pleasing to him. All glory to him forever and ever! Amen.

BEING A STAY-AT-HOME MOM AND NOT HAVING MY OWN MONEY SUCKS!

BEING A STAY-AT-HOME MOM AND NOT HAVING MY OWN MONEY SUCKS!

Why does it feel like I am the only mom that has this issue? I have never heard another mother speak on this topic of financial dependency and that has made me feel very torn and like I am the only stahm that has a husband earning just enough to support us.

This has lead to me questioning our decision to stay home with the kids and is it selfish to have my husband working so hard while I am 'just home.'

But then being "just home" seems to me that it can easily be more exhausting than working a job, or two even. Because as a stay-at-home mom, we clean, do laundry, cook, care for our kids, manage finances, do grocery shopping, plan and prep for all events, and that is 7 jobs I just mentioned that people get hired and get paid to do.

I have struggled with my self-worth because I was stripped of my identity which I had created. I equated my self-worth with my accomplishments and income. But when I had my kids all of that went away along with my self-worth which caused me to constantly question myself as a mom, wife, and entrepreneur.

I don't want the same for you. We are worth so much, we do so much, and we are so amazing yet we feel so belittled because of our role as a stay-at-home moms and I'm tired of sticking to that narrative.

I am here to acknowledge you, other mamas. I want to love and support you through this, so thanks for joining me in Today's conversation!

    Thanks for tuning in!

Please take 2 minutes to drop a review of what you can relate to most!

    Love you mamas!

How to Stop Finding Your Value at Work & Get Your Priorities Straight- Alexia Carrillo

How to Stop Finding Your Value at Work & Get Your Priorities Straight- Alexia Carrillo

Alexia Carrillo is a driven mother, wife, coach and podcaster. After receiving a PHD in Cancer Biology and working as a teacher, Alexia felt called to transition to being a work from home mom to spend more time with her son. However, her transition home was not the fairytale she imagined. She began to experience struggles with balance and unmet expectations. Alexia would later create her podcast, Mama With A Calling, to shares her own experiences and help other moms that are also changing their career direction to find balance and peace. We chat about our mutual struggles as achievers and how a desire to achieve can make a work and home life balance difficult, how we can make sure we are prioritizing our family, and we contrast some of the advice Alexia received from non-Christian sources to what she found in the Bible.

SAHM and working moms, does your husband refuse to help

Well, without question, my husband refuses to help at home and with our children.

As a SAHM (stay-at-home mom) what might shock you more is that I am in 100% agreement!

When my husband refuses to help, especially as the breadwinner, he will always have my support.

No, I have not set the women’s movement back 100 years by fully supporting my husband by refusing to help. Listen to learn more…

    1. He is not helping because we are both responsible for our home and children
    2. We respect each other and contribute equally
