    Blind Bourbon and Whiskey Shootout!

This is our first blind bourbon and whiskey tasting. We've mentioned a few times that we've wondered if higher priced bourbons are worth the extra coin. So we brought in two friends with more "refined" palette's than ours to see if our taste buds could tell the difference. We blind tested 5 bourbons and whiskeys at different price points to see if we can tell the difference.

    Ep 045 | Blind Spots

    Ep 045 | Blind Spots

Bryan's random question about himself leads to a discussion of blind spots. How do you correct your behavior if you're unaware it's affecting others? Alex hilariously describes how his stubbornness and introversion causes issues before Markus discusses struggling to be present with his family.

Bryan has an epiphany in real time before addressing a listener question about his divorce. This leads to a frank discussion about the work it takes to nurture a long-term relationship. How do you know she's worth the effort? When is it time to give up?

There are plenty of laughs and a bunch of gems on today's episode!

Ep. 134 -- IT IS WORTH IT

Ep. 134 -- IT IS WORTH IT

In this episode I dive in deeper about my favorite saying on this podcast: "I am not telling you it is going to be easy, but I am telling you it is going to be worth it"! In life, it will NOT be easy to work towards our dreams and our ambitions, BUT it will be worth it! When the going gets tough, understand that it IS going to be worth it. The trials and tribulations will help us REACH the point to where it is worth it! KEEP GOING!

Finishing what you start - Audio

Finishing what you start - Audio
When Jesus came to earth as a human, he associated with some unsavory people His ministry took Him to many people who were less than perfect. He would associate with sinners, politicians, adulterers and people who were possessed by demons. God will assocate with all type of people except for one: the one that turns back. In our text, Jesus gives an example of a man who sets out to build a tower. He specifically said a tower. Not a house. A tower is a more significant endeavor than building a house. This analogy carries on to life. We are not building an ordinary life. We are building a spiritual structure that requires planning and work. We are building for eternity and we cannot afford to get it wrong. We certainly cannot afford to begin building, and then not be able to finish. This is not a trivial undertaking. It takes and requires a great deal of planning and execution. Many people are good starters, but not so good a finisher. It take much more to finish than it does to start. What does it take to finish well? What does it look like to finish what we start? First we must not lose site of what we are doing. We are building something that is eternally important. We cannot lose site of why we started. We must keep the goal in focus. In any undertaking, we will encounter obstacles. In order to finish, we must not allow these obstacles to derail us. We cannot become distracted with secondary things and lose sight of the main thing. Finally we must never allow the cost of building to cause us to shortcut our efforts to build. Too many people set out to live for God and then think that it costs too much. Life is costly not matter what. The right kind of life is worth every cost, every bit of energy and every setback that we encounter. We must be committed to finishing what we start.
