#205 Benjamin Rolle: Online MTT Legend & Founder of Raise Your Edge

#205 Benjamin Rolle: Online MTT Legend & Founder of Raise Your Edge
Today’s guest on CPG is not only one of the greatest online MTT players in the world, but is also an all-time great in an area very near and dear to my own heart: poker training.

Benjamin “bencb789” Rolle is the founder of Raise Your Edge where his flagship product “Tournament Masterclass” has become the gold standard in MTT training and has helped countless poker players (Including past CPG guest and one of the top poker streamers in the world, Matt Staples) realize their full tournament potential.

He’s also pretty good at poker, too… with past successes on the green felt including:

Taking down the $25k Sunday Million Super High Roller on GG Poker just a few weeks ago for almost $400k.
Scooping the GGPoker Super MILLION$ for $424k.
And winning the gargantuan 2016 $102k buy-in WCOOP Super High Roller for over $1.1 million after making a deal with friend, wunderkind, and past CPG guest Fedor Holz.

Oh yeah, both he and Raise Your Edge have also recently become members of Team PokerStars.

In today’s episode with the great bencbc789, you’re going to learn:

    - Ben’s origin story into the world of poker.
    - His surprising driving force in launching Raise Your Edge (Hint: It wasn’t about money).
    - Why he decided to get into the esports business.
    - And much, MUCH more!

So now, without any further ado, I bring to you one of the human beings who pop into my head when I think of Poker Greatness… the one and only Benjamin “bencb789” Rolle.

#197 Dylan Weisman: PLO & Mental Game Coach for Upswing Poker

#197 Dylan Weisman: PLO & Mental Game Coach for Upswing Poker
Today’s guest on the Chasing Poker Greatness podcast is one of the premier PLO players in the world… he’s the mental game & PLO coach for poker training behemoth Upswing Poker, Dylan Weisman.

What is immediately apparent in today’s conversation with Dylan is that he’s an absolute gold mine of poker, performance, and life wisdom. And the level of respect Dylan has earned from the greatest poker players on the planet is off-the-charts.

Not only was he hand-selected and trusted to produce world-class PLO products on Upswing Poker, but here’s a recent exchange he had with poker legend Daniel Negreanu and the WSOP on Twitter after nabbing a PLO bracelet at this year’s WSOP:

Dylan: “How do we petition for more mid to high stakes PLO tournaments at the next WSOP?”

DNegs: “We can run 5-6 as a series and call them the “Weisman” invitationals with only one caveat: You are not invited. You MC the events but cannot play because you are too good.”

While I sense some playfulness from DNegs in this Tweet, there’s truth in it as well:

Your poker chips are not safe when Dylan sits down at your table.

With that said, the man is an absolute gem of a human being on and off the felt and it was an absolute honor and privilege having him drop Greatness Bomb after Greatness Bomb on CPG.

Now, without any further ado, I bring to you world-class human being, poker pro, coach, and teacher… Dylan Weisman.

#171 Steve Zolotow: A Trip Through Gambling Lore with a Poker Legend

#171 Steve Zolotow: A Trip Through Gambling Lore with a Poker Legend
Today’s guest on CPG is a living legend in the poker and sports betting world who is a treasure trove of amazing, amazing stories… The one and only Steve “The Bald Eagle” Zolotow.

Steve’s path to CPG was pretty unique.

I was doing my monthly webinar for Poker Coaching when I got a question from “Stephen Zolotow”... whose name I totally butchered because my brain was way too slow in making the connection…

It was so slow, in fact, that the first question I asked was, “Oh, are you related to Steve Zolowtow?”

    Oof.

When I finally gathered my wits, I awkwardly asked him out on a date while on the job, he gave me his digits, and the rest, as they say, is history.

Steve’s career in the skilled gambling arena has now spanned 50 (!!) years and he has routinely found himself smack dab in the middle of some of the most iconic periods of time in all of gambling lore.

Here’s a little taste to whet your appetite:

Steve was a member of the famous Mayfair Club that used to be the favorite haunt of poker legends Erik Seidel, Stuey Ungar, Howard Lederer, Jason Lester, and Paul Magriel.

Steve was the first to meet a CalTech analytics wizard who would go on to change the course of the entire sports betting industry.

Today’s show with Steve Z will eventually be a two-parter (Maybe even more if I can convince him to keep coming back on) because locked away in his mind are way, way too many amazing poker stories to unravel in only a couple short hours.

So strap in to your seat and prepare yourself to go on an adventure through the well-lived life of a poker icon… This is Steve Zolotow on Chasing Poker Greatness.
