It's a bit heartbreaking to think about how many of us might be going through the motions, not realizing we're in the midst of spiritual warfare. Hosea 4:4 hits hard – "My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge." Ignoring this reality won't make it disappear; it just leaves us vulnerable. But here's the good news – understanding spiritual warfare isn't an invitation for trouble; it's like getting a spiritual toolkit to kick the devil's schemes to the curb.

Now, let's bust a myth – some think as Christians, we're untouchable by the dark side. Sure, we can't be possessed, thanks to Jesus' blood and the Holy Spirit within us. But being influenced or facing attacks? That's a whole different ball game. And here's the kicker – if we don't get our heads around our kingdom assignment, who we are in Christ, and the authority we carry, we're not claiming the victories meant for us in our personal lives and beyond.

Hey friends, let's talk about something that's been burning on our heart’s lately.  We truly believe that right now, in this very moment, God is knocking on our hearts, urging us to embrace a profound sense of desperation for Him. It's not some distant call; it's a heartfelt invitation to draw closer, to consecrate our lives wholly to Him.

Today we’re joined by Pastor David Campos from One Chapel to discuss a popular saying, “Once Saved, Always Saved.” There tends to be two extreme camps of people around this topic. One camp believes that you can never lose your salvation-say it once and that’s my ticket to heaven and in the meantime I’ll do what I want. The other camp lives in this constant fear that God is about to smack them at any moment and if they mess-up it's all over. Most of us fall somewhere in the middle of not really knowing what we believe. We can rest with absolute assurance that if we have been born again and are following Jesus then nothing can separate us from Him. However, we can choose to forfeit our relationship with Him and not remain in Him. Join us as we dive into this hard topic and find out what the scriptures are actually saying.

On today’s episode of Leaving The Shallows, Heather and Jackie have a conversation about what love is. Most of us have some sort of idea of what love is but where is our idea of love being formed? How do we get our definition of love? Should we trust what we believe or what the world says? 

In today's episode we talk about going to the source of love, the One who is love (1 John 4:8), in order to have the correct definition or idea of love.  To truly understand love, we need to know God better.  God is our plumb line in which we measure all other definitions of love. If someone’s definition of love doesn’t line up with the word of God, it’s not God’s love. We don't want to end up accepting an idea or view of love that was never God's! We hope that by listening to our conversation today, you will have a better idea of what God's love looks like and how you can make sure you are sharing God's idea of love with those around you!

Peter & Paul.  A music minister, worship leader, wife and devoted mother of two, Melissa has many talents. She received her Master’s Degree in Theological Studies from the University of Dallas. She has worked in Youth/Young Adult Ministry for over 23 years and Restorative Justice for 8 years. She is trained in Trauma Intervention and Pastoral Counseling. She is a devoted wife and a caregiver for her mother.
