    Are toxic relationships wreaking havoc on your hormones and causing anxiety?

    Did you know that mothers who spend all day with their children produce MORE cortisol (the stress hormone) than 98% of the worlds paying professions?

    Nothing puts me into a stressful state like managing conflict and tension.

    It boils down to a LACK OF RESPECT AND SHOWING LOVE.

    The toxic relationships in my life have usually had a cocktail of these traits:

    1. Sarcasm- relies heavily on tone and context making it prone to misinterpretation.  Our kids don’t always get this. Passive Aggressive (avoidance, sarcasm, subtle jabs, procrastination) 

    2. Bad communication- say what you mean and mean what you say

    3. Lack of honoring boundaries in time, money, priorities- none of us know what is happening in other’s lives.  

    4. Emotional manipulation shows itself in

    *****logic

    *****guilt trips 

    ****helplessness(playing the victim) 

    ****even flattery

    ****threats

    ****gas lighting (manipulation when someone subtly or intentionally distorts another’s perception of reality causing them to doubt their own memory, judgment, or sanity.

    5.  Constant criticism

    TO have healthy relationships:

    1. Teach these words when they are happening

    2. Set boundaries

    3. Teach others how you need to be treated!

    4. Heal 

    5. Forgive/ Reconcile

    Self care is beyond a manicure, here are my favorite 5 things right now for movement, meal planning, skin, digestion and anti-aging.

    I have been compounding healthy habits for years, but these are my favorites right now!

    Healthy habits don't have to be difficult, they don't need to take a lot of time, and they can be fun!

    1. I am seeing the benefits of getting in 10K steps a day.  Your NEAT calories (those calories burned by the movements we make when we go about our daily business) make all of the difference- especially in peri/post menopause!  Get your steps on while you ....
    2. Meal prepping to get in 100-150 grams of protein.  Getting your protein in won't happen on accident.  Spend some time following food prep instagram pages and collecting recipes to plan your eating for the day/ week!  @stayfitmom_krista is one of my favorites!
    3. Drink your tripeptide, bioavailable collagen every day before coffee.  I take my supplements at the same time and I'm getting in NAD+ too!  This helps my nails and hair and also works like an adrenal cocktail for me and has helped manage my stress and anxiety level! https://doterra.me/aRryat

    I heard the best quote this week that said "Give your time and money a job or they will be wasted".  This really struck a chord with me.  So whether you are doing great at your new year's resolutions or you didn't make any this year, take some time to do an inventory of your money and your time and decide how you want to use these currencies this year.

    You have the power to decide how anxious you feel or don't feel based on how much you stick to your money and time allotments. It will bring peace and joy to know how you spend your time and money and confidence when you stick to the plan!
