    • Minnesota EventsMinnesota Department of Revenue offers rebates of up to $1500 on new electric assisted bikes, Saint Paul temporarily closes streets due to flooding risk, Indigenous communities dub movies into native languages, Twins lose to Yankees, Mississippi River expected to crest at minor flood stage

There are various ongoing events and initiatives in Minnesota that are making headlines. The Minnesota Department of Revenue is offering rebates of up to $1500 on the purchase of new electric assisted bikes, with approximately 1300 rebates expected to be issued on July 1st. This news is generating a lot of interest, as people look to save money on ebikes, which can be quite expensive. Meanwhile, Saint Paul is temporarily closing certain streets due to anticipated flooding from the rising Mississippi River levels. Indigenous communities in Minnesota are making strides in cultural representation by dubbing movies like Marvel's The Avengers into their native languages. Thomas Draskovic voices Nick Fury in the Lakota language version of the film, which is set to be released on Disney plus on June 14th. In sports news, the Minnesota Twins lost to the Yankees in New York, with Royce Lewis hitting the team's only run in the 7th inning after missing 58 games due to injury. The National Weather Service expects the river to crest at almost 14 feet this weekend, which is classified as a minor flood stage. Residents are encouraged to check online for updates on closures and flood conditions.

    • Lewis' Recall, Julian's DemotionThe Twins called up Lewis after his injury and demoted Julian to make room on the roster. Weather is mostly sunny and breezy with occasional thunder showers in Minnesota.

Lewis, who had a breakout season last year with 15 home runs and 52 RBIs in just 58 games, including 4 homers in 6 postseason games, was called back to the Twins after an injury in the first game of the season. To make room on the roster, Minnesota sent 2nd Baseman, Edward Julian, to the Saints. The Twins and Yankees are set to play again tonight, and the weather in Minnesota is expected to be mostly sunny and breezy with highs in the seventies, with a few stray afternoon thunder showers favoring the northern half of the state. However, the majority of the hours will be dry for the next several days.
