    • Lessons from a large Mexican familyBelief in self, love, and instincts for survival were instilled in the speaker from their upbringing in a large Mexican family. Determination and hard work led to success despite arriving in the US as an immigrant.

The speaker's upbringing by a large community of family members in Mexico instilled in them the importance of belief in oneself, love, and instincts for survival. They grew up working from a young age, and the lack of government assistance required everyone to contribute. The speaker's mother's unwavering belief in God and humanity was the most influential spiritual lesson. Despite arriving in the US as an immigrant who didn't speak English, the speaker's determination to become the best dog trainer in the world drove them to work hard and eventually succeed. The lessons learned from their upbringing have stayed with them and have been crucial to their success.

    • Creating trust with animals through positive experiencesTo build trust with animals, make vet visits positive experiences by rewarding them and creating a calm environment.

Building trust with animals, especially in a veterinary setting where time is limited, requires understanding their perspective and creating positive associations. The speaker's experience growing up around various farm animals helped him develop patience and trust-building skills, which he applied to working with dogs. However, in urban environments, animals may not have the opportunity to develop trust with their owners or veterinarians before stressful situations arise. To mitigate this, owners can make vet visits positive experiences by rewarding their pets and creating a calm environment. The speaker's dream of becoming a world-class dog trainer was inspired by his fascination with dogs in American media, and his journey to the US allowed him to see the importance of addressing the psychological needs of dogs in addition to their physical health.

    • Discovering Opportunities in Unexpected PlacesSeize opportunities, stay persistent, and use creativity to overcome challenges. From sweeping floors to discovering the value of a dollar and learning to hustle, the speaker's story emphasizes the importance of adaptability and resourcefulness.

Despite coming from different backgrounds and circumstances, the speaker found opportunities in unexpected places, such as working with dogs and learning English through a grooming salon job. He started from humble beginnings, sweeping floors and watching dishes, but eventually discovered the value of a dollar and learned to hustle. One of his most significant discoveries was the concept of free refills, which allowed him to stretch his limited resources further. Through his experiences, he learned to adapt and use his natural talents to succeed. The speaker's story highlights the importance of seizing opportunities, staying persistent, and using creativity to overcome challenges.

    • Building trust opens doors to opportunitiesBeing reliable and consistent builds trust, which can lead to new opportunities and help overcome challenges

Trust is a valuable currency, especially when you're starting from nothing. The speaker shares his experience of gaining the trust of people who helped him during his difficult times in the United States. He was homeless and managed to earn their trust by working hard and being trustworthy. With their trust, he was able to make money, buy his first Levi's, and eventually find a job as a dog trainer. The lesson here is that building trust can open doors to opportunities and help you overcome challenges. It's essential to be reliable and consistent, even when you don't have much to offer in return. Trust can be the key to unlocking new possibilities and improving your situation.

    • Filling an Unusual Niche in the MarketIdentifying and addressing unmet needs in an unconventional way can lead to a successful business.

Identifying and filling an empty niche in the market can lead to the creation of a successful business, even if it goes against the norm. The interviewee, a Mexican immigrant in LA, started out as an unusual dog walker with an unconventional approach, walking packs of dogs off-leash in the hood. He built a reputation as a "crazy guy" but used the freedom of the hood to break rules and differentiate himself from competitors. As his reputation grew, he expanded his services to include dog rehabilitation and training people instead of just dogs. He recognized that humans were often the source of behavioral issues in dogs and that traditional training methods didn't always translate to home life. By focusing on rehabilitating dogs and training their owners, he filled a unique gap in the market and built a successful business.

    • Learning from Dogs: Be Clear, Confident, and AssertiveDogs teach us to be clear, confident, and assertive leaders. Enter a state of surrender to effectively communicate and build a strong bond.

Our approach to training our dogs should be different from how we approach learning from them. We should aim to be calm and assertive, rather than thinking too much and hesitating. Animals, including dogs, follow stable leaders who provide direction and protection. They don't follow instability or uncertainty. Our dogs can teach us valuable lessons about how we truly feel and help us develop confidence by showing us the importance of being clear and taking responsibility for our actions. Before we can effectively train our dogs or ourselves, we must first raise our awareness and enter a state of surrender. Our dogs are the most honest companions we can have, and they don't know how to lie. So, if we want to effectively communicate with them and build a strong bond, we must learn to be clear, confident, and assertive in our actions and intentions.

    • Learning from Dogs: Embrace the Present and Connect DeeplyDogs teach us to live in the moment, feel deeply, and connect with others. Human ego can hinder our ability to fully absorb information and cultivate loving relationships. Reflecting on our own behavior and intentions can help us learn valuable lessons from dogs and improve relationships with both animals and people.

Opening up and surrendering allows us to absorb information, feel it deeply, and connect with the world around us. This concept can be applied to various aspects of life, from learning new skills to improving relationships. A dog is a perfect example of an animal that lives in the present and feels deeply, offering valuable lessons for humans to learn. However, the human ego can get in the way, preventing us from fully connecting and practicing patience, calmness, and self-love. Aggression in dogs is often a reflection of their human companions' emotions, making it essential for us to reflect on our own behavior and intentions. By becoming a student, listener, or follower, we can learn valuable lessons from the pack and cultivate more loving and harmonious relationships with both dogs and people.

    • Lessons from Dogs in Human LifeDogs' loyalty and dependability teach us valuable lessons on companionship, acceptance, and navigating life's challenges

Dogs and humans have unique relationships. While humans often prioritize their own needs, dogs are naturally inclined to be part of a pack and help their companions. This difference can lead to valuable lessons for humans, particularly during challenging times in life. For instance, during a difficult divorce, the speaker learned the importance of acceptance through the unwavering companionship of a dog. Dogs have taught us important lessons throughout history, from helping us raise children to guiding us through personal crises. Their innate desire to be part of a pack makes them loyal and dependable companions, offering valuable lessons for humans on how to navigate life's ups and downs.

    • Compatibility in Human and Animal RelationshipsUnderstanding and fulfilling unique needs in human and animal relationships leads to successful connections. Women require emotional expression and patience, while career success comes from leading one's intellectual property.

Compatibility, which is essential in relationships with dogs, also plays a significant role in human relationships. The speaker learned this lesson the hard way during her first marriage, where she and her partner were not compatible. Women, unlike dogs, have emotional needs that require surrender and patience. Long conversations and emotional expression are part of the territory. Love is the key to dealing with these challenges. In her career, the speaker realized the importance of leading her own intellectual property and taking control, a lesson she learned from her past experiences of being a follower. Overall, understanding and fulfilling the unique needs of both humans and animals is crucial for successful relationships.

    • Experiencing adversity leads to growth and valuable lessonsMoney isn't everything, empathy and personal growth are important, and focusing on goals and mission can lead to success and fulfillment.

Money is not the most important thing in life, and experiencing adversity can lead to valuable lessons and personal growth. The speaker shares his experience of going through bankruptcy despite having popularity and relationships with networks, but no money. He saw it as an opportunity to refocus on his goals and mission in life, viewing money as a byproduct rather than a priority. The speaker also emphasizes the importance of empathy and firsthand experience in helping others, which he plans to continue doing through his new show, Dog Nation, on Nat Geo. He encourages a holistic approach to life, incorporating fun, education, and heart. The speaker is grateful for the ability to share his passions and the impact his children have on the world.

    • Three truths from Cesar Millan's life experiences: live in harmony with nature, live in the moment, and fulfill the needs of others.Cesar Millan emphasizes living in harmony with nature, living in the moment, and fulfilling the needs of others as keys to a fulfilling life. He values support, considers greatness calm and confident, and leaves a lasting impact through his heart, love, and gift for healing.

Cesar Millan, known for his work with animals and people, emphasizes the importance of living in harmony with nature, living in the moment, and fulfilling the needs of others as the three truths to remember from his life experiences. He values the support of loved ones, particularly his fiancée, and considers greatness to be a calm and confident approach to life, accompanied by patience, celebration of accomplishments, and unconditional love for oneself and others. Cesar's heart, love, and gift for healing both humans and animals have left a lasting impact on many.

    • Find your mission to help othersConsistently working towards helping others leads to greater impact and personal fulfillment. Focus on your mission and build relationships to unlock your inner greatness.

Greatness lies in consistently working towards helping others rather than just helping oneself. Caesar Milan, the dog behaviorist, shared his perspective on the importance of hard work and consistency, even if it means working hard to be lazy. He emphasized that having a mission to help others fulfills our spirit, heart, instincts, and mind, leading to a greater impact on the world. For Caesar, it's been helping dogs, which in turn helps humans. He encourages everyone to find their mission and make a difference in the world. Additionally, Lewis, the podcast host, emphasized the importance of focusing on one's business and building relationships instead of doing menial tasks like taxes, and encouraged listeners to seek inspiring information, ideas, and people to unlock their inner greatness.

#8 Lisa Elle’s Story: Letting The Control Go And Stepping Into The Unknown With Courage And Love!

#8 Lisa Elle’s Story: Letting The Control Go And Stepping Into The Unknown With Courage And Love!

What is stopping you from loving life and letting your light shine?

Lisa has been an Alberta girl for her whole life. She is the oldest of four siblings which installed personality traits within her. Lisa was a person pleaser and put a lot of pressure on herself to do what was right. After a while her perspective shifted and she started focussing on what she thinks about herself instead of what everyone else thought.

During her first year of University she travelled to Germany and all around Europe. Lisa got married at 25 and started her family. She already had her career in finance since she was 20. From a young age she knew that she hated having a boss. She recognized that she didn't want to have a corporate job. She took marketing at Mount Royal University in Calgary and knew she wanted to be a financial planner. Later she decided she wanted to make more money so she dipped her toe in real estate.

Lisa has dealt with Mom guilt and shame as she was not a mom that was your typical stay at home mom. She also touches on some of the struggles of having kids but also what a beautiful blessing they are. She talks about her divorce and how looking back she realizes that you need to find a person who wants to grow with you. She lives a life of no regrets. Lisa talks about this checklist she made for herself. This checklist was to go to school, have a career, get married, have kids, have a house, have cars, etc.   Once she achieved all that she didn't know what her next step was.

Lisa learns to love who she is, love where she's been, and love where she's going. She has always been interested in finances from a really young age. Lisa encourages others to know what they want and she helps others create financial plans that align with your goals and your life. Lisa addresses the role fear plays and talks about stepping into the unknown and living a life you love.
