Kroger offers an extensive selection of over 30,000 delicious options for mealtime inspiration, along with everyday low prices and various ways to save, making it a worthwhile shopping destination. Finn shared a personal story about creating a unique surname, McBartlett, by combining his and his wife's last names, which represents their Irish heritage and their desire to link their children to their family history. The couple's decision was met with some resistance, but they found meaning and significance behind it. Finn also asked for the hosts' thoughts on the process of creating a new surname for their children and how they would feel if their children chose to change it in the future. Overall, the conversation showcased the importance of personal connections and family heritage in shaping our identities.

    • Exploring the Significance of Surnames and Personal IdentityFrom creating unique surnames to honoring traditions, surnames hold deep significance in shaping personal identity. Embracing individuality and making personal choices can define one's identity and create a unique family story.

The discussion revolves around the topic of personal identity and the significance of surnames. The speakers express admiration for those who challenge tradition and create their unique paths in life. Finn and his wife's decision to combine their surnames into McBartlett is seen as a trailblazing move, and they are praised for writing their own family story. The speakers also share their own experiences with surnames and the importance they hold for them. While some find pride in carrying on a family name, others see it as an opportunity to start anew or honor their partner's heritage. The conversation also touches upon the idea of personal identity and the role surnames play in shaping it. Overall, the discussion highlights the importance of individuality, tradition, and the power of making personal choices that define one's identity.

    • Ensuring safety and following itinerary during group activitiesPrioritize safety and adherence to itinerary for everyone's enjoyment and well-being. Personal happiness should not be hindered by names or family legacies.

Prioritizing safety and adhering to an itinerary during group activities ensures everyone's enjoyment and well-being. Names and family legacies are not significant and should not hinder personal happiness. Additionally, the hosts discussed the possibility of having a reunion episode for past podcast guests but acknowledged the impracticality of inviting everyone who emails in due to time constraints. Overall, the conversation emphasized the importance of enjoying life, being true to oneself, and considering the feelings and experiences of others.

    • Handling listener inquiries and suggestionsThe podcast hosts receive numerous listener emails and can't accommodate everyone, but they value each listener and aim to provide engaging content and discussions.

The podcast hosts, Robin and Tom, have a difficult time deciding which listeners to invite on their show due to the large number of emails they receive. They value each listener and often express their appreciation for them, but they can't accommodate everyone. Instead, they may have live events where some listeners could potentially attend. One listener, Scott Rogers, suggested a question for a future episode: "What sits in tomato soup?" The hosts joked about not knowing the answer, but were proud of bringing such intriguing questions to their audience. Another listener, Roger, shared his anxiety about feeling awkward during his wedding day and asked for advice. Tom assured that he, Tom, would have relished the attention during his wedding, but didn't offer specific advice for the listener. Overall, the podcast hosts value their listeners and strive to provide entertaining content and interesting discussions.

    • Focus on the love and enjoy the dayThe wedding day is about the couple's love and enjoyment, not about entertaining or impressing others. Embrace the moment and celebrate with your partner.

A wedding day is about the couple getting married, not about entertaining or impressing others. The speaker shared his personal experience of realizing this during his own wedding and encouraged the listener to focus on their partner and enjoy the day for themselves. The guests are there to celebrate the couple's love and support them, and there's no need for the couple to put on a show or feel pressure to be the center of attention. The speakers offered their well-wishes and encouraged the listener to embrace the day as a special moment for themselves and their partner.

    • Considering the Impact of Our Actions and WordsBe mindful of how our actions and words affect others, as unintended consequences can lead to tension and conflict. Prioritize building positive relationships to avoid unnecessary disputes.

Actions and words can have unintended consequences, and it's important to consider the impact of our actions on others. In the first part of the discussion, a man shared an anecdote about a joke he made at a wedding that ended his relationship with the best man's girlfriend and caused tension at the event. He felt bad about it but also saw it as an opportunity to entertain, even before he became famous. In the second part, a neighbor confronted the man about his parked van, accusing him of being selfish and obstructing traffic. The man moved the van to avoid further conflict, but later realized the neighbor had lied to secure a better parking spot for herself. Both incidents highlight the importance of considering the feelings and motivations of others and being mindful of the potential consequences of our actions and words. In new situations, such as moving to a new neighborhood, it's essential to prioritize building positive relationships with neighbors and avoiding unnecessary conflicts.

    • Handling difficult neighborsConsider creative solutions to defuse tension with difficult neighbors, even if unconventional. Sending a provocative Christmas card filled with glitter could assert dominance and potentially diffuse the situation.

Dealing with difficult neighbors can be challenging and may require creative solutions. In this situation, a neighbor's confusion over a seemingly harmless reference led to tension. The speaker suggested trying on a controversial idea, "going water," which was met with confusion and aggression. The speaker's friend, Ron, advised cutting ties with the neighbor, but the speaker disagreed. Instead, they suggested sending a provocative Christmas card filled with glitter as a prank. The speaker shared that they had experienced similar situations in the past and believed the neighbors exhibited a dominant and aggressive behavior towards those on their street. However, they advised against removing the neighbors from the Christmas card list and instead suggested sending a provocative card as a way to assert dominance and potentially diffuse the tension.

    • Dealing with Unnecessary ConflictsSome people can create conflicts even when there's no valid reason, stay calm and ignore the situation for best outcome.

Even if you're not doing anything wrong, some people may still cause unnecessary conflicts. In the first instance, a neighbor was upset about how Lisa was parking, despite there being no valid reason for her complaint. This led to a heated situation where Lisa wanted to confront the neighbor. The husband had to calm her down and they decided to ignore the neighbor instead. In the second situation, a man approached the husband offering him headlight bulbs for his Volvo, but the husband had no interest in them. The man became persistent, and even tried to drop them off at the husband's house. When the husband didn't want them, the man became insistent that they be returned. These two incidents illustrate how some people can create conflict or discomfort even when there's no need for it. It's important to remain calm and avoid engaging in unnecessary arguments or confrontations. Instead, focusing on ignoring the situation and moving on can be the best course of action.

    • Deriving Satisfaction from Others' MiserySome people find pleasure in others' suffering, but the speaker finds such behavior unfulfilling and prefers to ignore it. Social media can be a source of negativity, while podcasts offer authentic and engaging content.

The speaker believes that some people derive satisfaction from others' misery, but ultimately finds such behavior unfulfilling and prefers to ignore rather than engage with those individuals. The speaker also shares their disdain for social media platforms like Twitter, and expresses their appreciation for podcasts as a form of entertainment. In response to a listener's question, the speakers discuss their thoughts on the future of their podcast as lockdown restrictions ease and celebrities begin to return to their normal activities. They express optimism about the podcast's longevity and potential for evolution, but remain committed to providing authentic and engaging content for their audience.

    • Excited about continuing podcast collaborationDamon and Tom enjoy recording from home, discuss benefits and challenges of studio recording, and plan for a potential live event, with a commitment to producing episodes indefinitely.

Damon Morris and Tom express their enthusiasm for continuing their podcast collaboration, appreciating the flexibility and convenience of recording from their own homes. They also discuss the challenges and benefits of recording in a studio together and look forward to the potential live event in the future. They plan to keep producing episodes indefinitely and joke about the possibility of one of them being the first to pass away, with the other taking over the podcast. Despite the lighthearted banter, they value the connection they have built through their podcast and look forward to continuing the conversation with their audience.

    • Unexpected experiences of being a best manBeing a best man involves unexpected moments, from delivering a speech to sharing stories with guests. Cherish the opportunity to create lasting memories.

Being a best man comes with various responsibilities, including delivering a memorable speech during the wedding reception. However, not all grooms choose to appoint a best man, leaving their friends to prepare speeches on their own. Tom shared his experience of having written an amazing best man speech only to find out on the day of the wedding that there would be no speeches at all. Instead, he advised walking around and sharing stories about the groom with different groups of people. Another friend of Tom's, James Dufond, gave an incredible best man speech that was both funny and caring. Overall, the experience of being a best man can be unpredictable, but the opportunity to share heartfelt stories and create lasting memories is a cherished one.

    • Focusing on personal stories at weddings leads to deeper connectionsInstead of relying on speeches to create memories, focus on sharing personal stories with individuals during the event for deeper connections and more meaningful experiences.

Weddings are about celebrating love and creating memories, not just about the speeches. My dad's speech at my wedding was heartfelt, but I've realized that not all stories are for everyone. Speeches can put pressure on individuals to perform and can sometimes offend or embarrass people. Instead, focusing on sharing personal stories with individuals during the event can lead to deeper connections and more meaningful experiences. For instance, I once attended a wedding where I didn't know many people, but I managed to have a great time by chatting and dancing with strangers. The food was fantastic, and the free bar added to the festive atmosphere. Ultimately, weddings are a time to come together and enjoy each other's company, regardless of whether you know everyone or not.

    • Unexpected joy from unexpected situationsEmbrace the moment and find positives in unexpected situations, and value the connections and friendships that come your way.

Even in unexpected situations, it's possible to find joy and connection with others. The speaker shared an experience where he accidentally attended two weddings in one day and felt embarrassed when he realized he had been missing from the first one. However, he made the most of the situation by enjoying the second wedding and even making new friends. The experience taught him that sometimes, things don't go as planned, but it's essential to embrace the moment and find the positives. Additionally, the speaker emphasized the importance of friendship and how it can bridge gaps and bring people together, even in the most unlikely circumstances. So, whether you find yourself in a similar situation or just going about your daily life, remember to appreciate the connections you make and the opportunities for joy that come your way.

    1936 The Art of Breath

    1936 The Art of Breath

One thing taken for granted is breathing. If you take time to silence the chaos and learn the art of breath, you will be on your way to mastering a healthy lifestyle.

The smallest actions can give the greatest results. And breathing is one of these actions.

Desire to be supported and encourage by other like-minded women? Join us at Women of IMPACThttp://bit.ly/WomenofIMPACT

However, most of us don't sit around thinking about how we breath and telling our bodies to do something that happens automatically.

That's one of the greatest beauties about how our bodies work. It's these intricate details that give us the opportunity to live out our dreams.

So instead of getting all bent out of shape for what you haven't done for your body and health, pause and be grateful for your breath and breathe with intention.

The K.I.S.S. ~ Breathe with intention!

I am not one who pretends to have it all together. I make mistakes daily. I sell my health short too. And let me tell you, the pantry is a daily struggle for me.

Yet one thing I have learned over the decades is presence. Being present is SO important. And one way to do this is being in tune with your body.

I think of this as creating harmony. Music has been a love for my entire life. I've always had a song in my heart and my mom would say I came out talking and singing. That is one of the greatest gifts they gave me, music.

One area of music that always drew me in was harmony. And that's how I look at our bodies. We need to find the "harmony" of our bodies in the food, fitness, and function.

And the first step is the most foundational one....Breath!

Believe it or not, we all breathe! And there is an art to breathing.

A week or so back, I found myself going out to pick up some essentials at the grocery store. This was the first outing with my mask. Now understand that I am a woman always on a mission and that morning was no different. I had an early morning meeting and interview. So there was no time to dawdle.

So I made the dash into the store picking up a cart on the way. Nothing like the sunshine to kill any germs. I get in the store and my phone rings. My husband found something at home that needed my attention.

As I stood there listening, I realized I was breathing harder and hotter air. I felt the mask hug my mouth and then release upon my exhale.

For once, I was captivated by my own breath. (Plus this is when I realized I had a lot of hot air, which my husband has documented the day and time as it will go into the history books.)

There is the art of breath and it can be extremely beneficial to the harmony of your body.

    So let's breathe with intention.

    1. Find a comfortable and calm place.
    2. Sit tall as if your head is being pulled up by a string.
    3. Close your eyes and relax your shoulders.
    4. Loosen the tightness throughout your body.
    5. Focus on your breath; breathing in and out slowly and controlled.
    6. As you begin to welcome this calm, your mind might drift off. Bring your focus back to your breath.
    7. Add a thought of gratitude and praise.

You can do this for a few seconds just to start. It can be a weird feeling at first especially if you've never tried it. But as you do it throughout your day, extend the time.

I love doing this when I get frustrated or mad, or even when I'm in a situation that I need to process more calmly than a knee-jerk reaction.

The art of breath will serve your mind and body well. May harmony begin to ignite the wellbeing of your presence.

"Be present. Be incredible. Be YOU!!!"

    Deconstructing Purity Culture

    Deconstructing Purity Culture

If you grew up in the church in the ‘90s, you probably experienced purity culture—it was the church’s response to the increasing promiscuity in society. Unintentionally, purity culture caused significant harm and didn't fully capture God’s heart towards sex and individual value. In this episode, we share what we believe to be a more biblical view of sex and relationships. We hope you enjoy the conversation.

Children of all ages can stir up so much energy. Yet the challenge is having this energy in one place ALWAYS! At least before, you could change the environment.

Now, you are stuck. Not because you want to be, but because you have to be.

Finding a balance in your own life is one thing. But creating it with the family is another.

So you gotta put first things first.

The K.I.S.S. ~ Put first things first!

Yes, the kiddos matter. But if you don't keep your head on, a lot more can go wrong.

So take a deep breath. Put first things first!

    1. Create an escape moment. This is a way to give yourself space for personal accountability. Run in such a way that you might win. (1 Corinthians 9:24) You may not be able to leave the area, but you can find a moment where you can gain a sense of peace.
    2. Energize with hope. Do something that switches the focus on the positive, not the negative. Dance. Laugh.
    3. Play Hide 'n Seek. You make the rules. Even the little ones can play. You can even play with doubles. Choose a base and you've got this. Just beware! The cat might give you away.

How you feel will be multiplied by the children. They can sense when you are feeling stressed, relaxed, or even nervous. Do your best to project what you want them to feed off of.

"Train for life. Love your journey!!!"

1654 How to Get to the Finish Line

1654 How to Get to the Finish Line

When you want to reach your goal, you must learn how to get to the finish line. Because of course, quitting isn't an option.

You have a goal, a dream. Reaching those are always the focus.

Desire to be supported and encourage by other like-minded women? Join us at Women of IMPACT. http://facebook.com/groups/thewomenofimpact

So why are you so quick to throw in the towel when things get tough?

You were created with a burning purpose. Some days, it's easy to live them out. Other days, you want to quit.

If quitting is so attractive, let's look at why we do it.

Our minds and body are in search of what we know. Habits are a preferred way of life. When change is introduced, your mind begins to look for ways to escape the mission.

"Go to what you know," the mind echoes loudly.

But for most of us, the mind's motto doesn't serve our goals or dreams; our life.

How do you get to the finish line when everything is working against you?

    Play the tricks. Reverse psychology.

The K.I.S.S. ~ Play the tricks!

Wrap what is new in what is old.

    1. Stay the course. The worse thing you can do is quit. So don't do it!
    2. Adjust when needed. When you are in realtime, make adjustments. Change what doesn't work. Change what doesn't serve you.
    3. Take A.I.M. Action ignites motivation. Keeping going. You got this!

"One step at a time leads to miles of greatness!"

If you just got engaged, CONGRATS! What’s the first thing you did after sharing the news? Most brides-to-be go straight into the wedding planning, choosing a venue and a date, choosing their dress and flower decor. But according to TV judge Lauren Lake, there are conversations that MUST be had before tying the knot. These will lay the foundation to a stronger more stress free marriage. On today’s episode we’re going over what these 3 conversations are.

Today, Lauren Lake presides over the nationally syndicated daytime courtroom series Lauren Lake’s Paternity Court, now in its seventh season. In the Emmy-nominated series, Judge Lauren oversees highly emotional family cases that lead to life-changing consequences.
