      Our levels of anxiety and stress are directly related to how much we resist the current state of the world. The more we resist, the more anxious we become. This resistance can manifest in various forms, such as fighting against unwanted circumstances or refusing to accept the reality of a situation. For instance, someone might be resisting the COVID-19 pandemic, economic instability, or even their pet's health issues. This resistance stems from our desire to have control over things that are ultimately beyond our grasp. An article I recently read reported a 400% increase in depression cases due to people's inability to accept and adapt to the changing world. Many of us are holding on to the idea of a "normal" life and are unable to move forward, which only intensifies our feelings of anxiety and sadness. It's important to recognize that our anxiety levels are a reflection of our resistance to the present moment. If you find yourself feeling anxious, take a step back and assess what you're resisting. By accepting the reality of the situation and focusing on what you can control, you may find that your anxiety begins to dissipate. In essence, the less we resist, the less anxious we become. So, let go of your resistance and embrace the present moment, even if it's not the moment you had hoped for.

      Our happiness and joy in life are often stolen from us due to resistance towards accepting the present moment as it is. The world, including its challenges and hardships, exists only in the present moment. By resisting COVID, the economy, breakups, or any other situation, we are missing out on the potential for love, joy, and peace that can be found in the present moment. Instead, we should focus on finding what is great about the present moment and accept it fully. The question to ask ourselves is, "Are you okay right now?" in this very moment, not worrying about bills or future events. Only by fully embracing the present can we truly experience happiness and joy.

      Anxiety and stress often stem from worrying about potential future problems, rather than focusing on the present moment where we have control. To combat this, it's important to ask ourselves if we're okay in this present moment and to accept that we can't control many things in life. By acknowledging and accepting our current situation, we can reduce anxiety and find peace in the present. Additionally, identifying what we're resisting can help us better understand and address the root cause of our anxiety. Remember, 99.999% of the time, we're okay right now.

      While we cannot control our initial thoughts, we have the power to control our second thoughts and ultimately change our perspective.
