They have been linked to heart disease, diabetes, and other health problems. Consuming excessive sugar and processed foods can contribute to the formation of AGEs. It is important to take steps to protect ourselves from AGEs and support proteostasis for optimal health.

    • The Danger of AGEs: How Cooking and Processed Foods Can Harm Our HealthLimiting sugar and starch intake, maintaining stable blood sugar levels, and incorporating natural antioxidants into our diet while avoiding certain cooking methods can help reduce the formation and negative effects of AGEs.

      Advanced glycation end products (AGEs) can be detrimental to our health. AGEs are created from cooking food in the wrong way, such as grilling, frying, or crisping, as well as from consuming processed foods. They can lead to inflammation, oxidative stress, and organ damage, and have been linked to serious diseases like diabetes, heart disease, and Alzheimer's. To reduce AGE formation and exposure, it is important to limit sugar and starch consumption, balance blood sugar levels, and include natural antioxidants in our diet through colorful fruits, vegetables, herbs, spices, and olive oil. Additionally, avoiding deep-fried, sugar-coated, or heavily grilled foods and engaging in regular exercise can help in reducing AGEs. Overall, adopting a healthy, anti-inflammatory lifestyle can have a positive impact on our AGE levels and overall health.
