Monty Rieck was a cowboy through and through. Hear how he went from a “black hat wearing” cowboy–rodeo roping, gun toting and chasing the things of this world– to the Cowboy Preacher.

Monty pursued a business venture and didn’t know he was surrounded by Christians. He was overcome with the love they had for their wives, and his own need for a savior. After saying “Yeehaw” to Jesus, Monty demonstrated Christian love for his wife, and biblical forgiveness for her and the men who had wronged him.

Izzy Koo grew up in a Christian home, but when her dad challenged her on what she believed, she didn’t have answers. Soon thereafter her friends who walked away from faith gave her an ultimatum: choose us or choose God.

Without thinking, Izzy chose God. This rejection was actually Izzy’s turning point. She decided to learn more about this God who was worth losing friends over. 

“I decided in my heart to try to get to know this God I had claimed to believe. I was done just believing in Him simply because my parents did, or because I felt like I should.

I wanted to believe in God for myself. So the first thing that made sense to do was to read my Bible.”

Izzy poured through the Bible and eventually surrendered her life to Jesus. Izzy then developed a heart for others who were rejected.  

Izzy is a student at Pepperdine University in Malibu.

Tytiyana "Ty" Jones was a victim of intense bullying. It caused her to have problems with self-image, propelled her to self-harm and even brought her to suicidal ideation. It was her brother who encouraged her, prayed for her and kept her alive, while himself incarcerated. Michael Buhrman was a naval-trained nuclear engineer, so why was he on the run as a fugitive, fleeing to Venezuela? His bad choices caught up with him and he was sentenced to 40 years in prison. Amazingly, Michael found himself with Christian cellmates at every turn.

And that Bible he initially used as scratch paper? It transformed his life into the faithful witness he is today. Michael now holds a doctorate in Biblical studies. Today's Sendoff features Blind Tony in a poem that was inspired by Michael's story.
