    • Finding balance in work and life: Disappearing DecemberGary Vaynerchuk encourages finding peace and balance in life, sharing his thoughts on the concept of 'disappearing December' and the importance of disconnecting for an extended period.

Learning from Gary Vaynerchuk's podcast episode is the importance of finding balance in work and life, and the concept of disconnecting for an extended period. Gary shared his thoughts on this idea, which he calls "disappearing December," during a book signing in Mexico. He emphasized that he's not necessarily inspired to take a full month off right now but finds the concept intriguing. He also discussed his concerns about being perceived as promoting hustle until burnout, and his desire to share experiences and insights that might surprise people. Ultimately, Gary encouraged listeners to find peace and balance in their own lives, and to remember that there's more to success than just hard work. He also touched on his legacy and his plans for the New York Jets, but the overarching theme of the episode was the importance of finding a healthy balance between work and personal life.

    • Choosing love over money for successEmbrace uncertainty, focus on authentic experiences, and prioritize love and enjoyment of the process for success in both business and personal life.

Success in business and personal life can be achieved by prioritizing love and enjoyment of the process over material wealth. The speaker shares his perspective on legacy and the unpredictability of life, expressing his interest in ambitious projects like starting a colony on Mars. He emphasizes that in his own experiences, including his family business with his brother, the key to success lies in caring less about money and choosing love instead. The speaker values the journey and the game of life, finding joy in the process rather than the end goal. His message encourages embracing uncertainty and focusing on authentic experiences.

    • Prioritizing values over financial gainsSelf-awareness, emotional intelligence, patience, gratitude, and empathy are essential for personal growth and business success beyond financial gains.

Understanding your priorities and values, whether it's focusing on financial success or personal fulfillment, is crucial for personal growth and business success. The speaker shares his personal experience of leaving money on the table in business relationships to prioritize relationships and personal happiness. He emphasizes the importance of self-awareness and the power of changing one's mindset. The speaker also highlights the need for a balance in the conversation around business success, emphasizing the importance of emotional intelligence, patience, gratitude, and empathy. He encourages young entrepreneurs to learn from his experience and prioritize what truly matters to them. The speaker's message is that success in business does not necessarily equate to happiness, and it's essential to consider the deeper aspects of life beyond just financial gains.

    • Prioritizing personal happiness for business successGary Vaynerchuk focuses on expanding his publishing business and prioritizes genuine engagement over following counts for happiness and success.

Focusing on personal happiness is crucial for building a successful business, rather than pursuing wealth at the expense of well-being. Gary Vaynerchuk emphasized that he's not interested in becoming a monk or a healer but rather in winning and building. His main objective for the next year is to expand the publishing part of VaynerX. He advocates for the removal of following counts as they can lead to unhappiness. Currently, he's excited about opportunities on platforms like TikTok, despite not fully understanding it, as it provides genuine engagement and connection with people. He prioritizes the art over the math when it comes to engagement.

    • Reach a large young audience on TikTok with low investmentTikTok offers underpriced attention, reaching a large young audience with potential impact on future consumer behavior, and a unique escape from politics and anger on heavier social media platforms.

TikTok's ability to reach a large, young audience at scale with relatively low investment makes it an intriguing platform for marketers and content creators. Unlike Instagram, where organic reach is limited and building a following can be slow, TikTok offers underpriced attention that can have a significant impact on future consumer behavior. Additionally, TikTok's light and entertaining nature, which appeals to younger audiences, sets it apart from heavier social media platforms and offers a unique escape from the politics and anger that dominate other platforms. While managing relationships with families and navigating the challenges of social media remain important considerations, the potential reach and engagement on TikTok make it an exciting opportunity for those looking to connect with the next generation of consumers.

    • Taking accountability for our choices and actionsEmpower yourself to create the life you want by taking ownership of your choices and actions, making decisions based on what's right for you, and accepting consequences if you make mistakes. Don't blame external factors and focus on what you can control.

Taking full accountability for our choices and actions is the key to happiness and success in life. This means not judging ourselves or others, making decisions based on what we believe is right for us, and accepting the consequences if we make mistakes. The speaker emphasizes the importance of not blaming external factors for our circumstances and instead focusing on what we can control. This mindset empowers us to take ownership of our lives and make the best of each situation. The speaker also encourages us to be present and engaged in our relationships and responsibilities, even if it means making sacrifices or difficult choices. Ultimately, it's up to us to create the life we want and be accountable for the choices we make along the way.

5 Core Pieces of Value to Get You to Succeed

5 Core Pieces of Value to Get You to Succeed

There are so many people racing to earn more money than they can even spend even if they have to sacrifice their happiness and livelihood to do so. The really disturbing part about this is that most of these people only want the money so they can be flashy and show off their overly expensive cars (that they don't even want) and other dumb things to other people. Happiness needs to be the Northstar that we strive towards. If we aren't aiming to be happy, then is it really worth having more money than you can spend and more cars than you can drive? —

    127. Can we be too self aware?

    127. Can we be too self aware?

This is a question I have been asking myself a lot recently as someone who is VERY invested in the self-help space. Have we reached a point where we are too aware of our problems, faults, thoughts, actions and behaviours? Self awareness can free us from so many mental restrictions, it allows us to make better decisions, be a better friend, a better person, invest in our dreams and values. But at some point, we can reach a stage where we are too invested in self-reflection and introspection that it interrupts our enjoyment of the moment, can isolate us or even result in obsessive overthinking and rumination. In this episode we explore what it means to be self-aware and how online self help content might be causing us more harm than good. Listen now.
