    • Setting meaningful goals and prioritizing self-careFocus on mental health, time management, and personal growth. Set ambitious but realistic goals, prioritize self-care, and seek support when needed.

Setting meaningful goals and prioritizing self-care are crucial for starting the year off on the right foot. Both Amy and the speaker have identified areas for personal growth, with a focus on mental health and time management. January can be a challenging month for goal setting and reflection, so it's essential to find a balance between setting ambitious targets and not getting bogged down by the process. Time management is a key area for improvement for both individuals, with a focus on consistency and effective task switching. While they may not be strict goal setters, they recognize the importance of staying committed to their objectives and seeking support from others when needed. Additionally, the speaker plans to increase their presence on LinkedIn and engage in more charity work in the coming year.

    • Prioritizing personal growth and self-careIncorporating charitable work, volunteering, and a better morning routine can enhance personal fulfillment and improve overall well-being.

Personal growth and self-care are essential for overall well-being. The speaker expressed a desire to increase charitable work and volunteer, not for professional gain, but for personal fulfillment. Additionally, they aim to establish a better morning routine, including waking up earlier and setting aside time for activities that benefit their mental and physical health. These goals, though seemingly small, can significantly improve the quality of life and set the tone for a productive day. It's important to remember that personal growth is not always about professional advancement, but rather about making time for activities that enrich our lives and contribute to our overall happiness.

    • The impact of routines and small changes on personal growthConsistent routines and small changes can significantly improve personal growth and mental well-being. Prioritize exercise, mentoring, and professional development for continued growth.

Establishing consistent routines and making small changes can have a significant impact on personal growth and mental well-being. This was highlighted through the discussion about the importance of exercise routines and the desire to mentor others. Additionally, investing time and energy into professional development, such as through memberships and webinars, can lead to valuable learning opportunities and the ability to give back to a community. Overall, the importance of prioritizing self-improvement and community involvement was emphasized as a key goal for personal and professional growth.

    • Setting SMART goals for personal and professional growthSetting clear, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound goals is essential for growth. Break down big goals into smaller milestones and give them a realistic deadline.

Setting specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound (SMART) goals is crucial for personal and professional growth. The speaker emphasized the importance of public speaking skills and the growth of their membership community. They highlighted the benefits of joining their membership and the evolution it has undergone since its inception. However, the key message was the importance of setting clear and measurable goals, breaking them down into smaller achievable milestones, and giving them a realistic timeframe. The speaker shared her personal goal of reading over 100 books in 2023 and how she achieved her best reading year by setting this goal and eliminating distractions. Overall, the importance of setting SMART goals and consistently working towards them was the main theme of the conversation.

    • Setting realistic goals for personal growthAim for smart, achievable goals and break them down into smaller milestones for personal growth. Support each other in the journey towards achieving them.

Setting realistic and measurable goals is essential for personal growth and development. During a discussion on the Girls in Marketing podcast, one of the speakers shared her goal of reading more books to expand her knowledge. She initially aimed for an ambitious target of 100 books a year but later realized that it might not be feasible. Instead, she settled for a more achievable goal of reading 20 books a year. The speakers emphasized the importance of setting smart goals and breaking them down into smaller, measurable milestones. They also encouraged listeners to share their goals and offered support to help each other achieve them. Overall, the episode highlighted the importance of setting realistic goals, staying committed, and supporting each other in the journey towards personal growth.

Reflecting on the Past, Hope for the Future

I don't know about you, but 2022 was a rough year for me. between breaking my hand and having to have surgery, to getting two tickets and my car battery dying, to going through a breakup and my friend moving away, only to have that all topped off with my dog being hospitalized and diagnosed with diabetes. I feel like I have not been able to catch a break lately, but it's a new year, a fresh start and a time to let go of the past and look towards the future.

In this episode I discuss all the 2022 goals I did NOT achieve, and it's a lot. I wanted to share this because it is totally okay if you didn't accomplish everything you wanted to this past year. It is perfectly okay if you only made a little progress or weren't perfectly consistent. It is also okay if as you reflect on the goals you didn't achieve to pivot or let go of goals entirely. I have so much hope for 2023 and I have a feeling that this is going to be a great year.
