Order Always Begins with Rest
#152// God made man on the sixth day and then He rested. Which means man's first day of existence was a day of rest and reflection. We were designed to do all things from rest first.
I remember having this revelation almost ten years ago when listening to a talk by Graham Cooke -- "If God brought man into the world and then immediately immersed him in rest, why am I continually organizing my life and efforts in such a way that I'm working towards and for rest instead of from it? Why am I doing it backwards?" And if I made the adjustment to approach my work and order Biblically -- from Rest -- would I be less tired and worn out? Would I have less to complain about and experience disappointment around?
On this episode of the Positioned to Prosper podcast, I'm sharing a word on rest that I recently released at REVIVE Church of Tampa, my home church. We looked at Genesis 1:23-2:3 and Hebrews 3:7-4:13 so we could have a better grasp and understanding of how real rest is the right place to start any and every endeavor in life. Are you interested to know how that works? Ready to experience less worry, weariness and burnout along the Christian road as you bring the Kingdom with Him? If so, I want you to Grab your Bible, your journal and a pen, and . . . Let's Go!
